@SunnySideUp2020 oh my god vaginal every time! I'll reply more comprehensively tomorrow if I can, but a c section is no walk in the park, it is so hard afterwards compared to a vaginal delivery (obviously of you have a fairly straightforward one) but there is absolutely no reason to think you won't. A lot of horror stories on Mumsnet but generally most women do have vaginal deliveries without complications

Leok83 · 17/11/2020 19:37

@SunnySideUp2020 that's great news your scan went well! It's such a relief isn't it! Gorgeous scan pic💖

@scrumdiddly123 that's such a disappointment yours has been delayed 🙁 Hopefully you don't show any signs of Covid in the next couple weeks. Xx

@Whiffle77 oh so exciting you will have a set date too!

@MilsCookie that's just crazy this is the last list update before your little ones are here!!

ChampooPapi · 17/11/2020 19:38

Also yay! @MilsCookie twinies 👣👣

scrumdiddly123 · 17/11/2020 20:13

Thanks for the list @SunnySideUp2020 and so pleased your scan went well! Your baby girl looks beautiful 💖
I’ve had a Covid test this evening, not because I have symptoms but we are taking part in a study so they come and test us at home every week! Which is quite handy and good to know if any of us have it and are asymptomatic! I’m isolating until 25th and scan is rebooked for 26th so keeping everything crossed I can go!
Thanks @Whiffle77 glad your scan went well too, how are you feeling about having a section? Nearly time for you too, it’s so exciting!

scrumdiddly123 · 17/11/2020 20:14

Thanks @Leok83, I’m disappointed but not too much longer to wait and I’m enjoying feeling her move every day now so that’s keeping me going! Hope you’re ok xx

Whiffle77 · 17/11/2020 20:59

Yes thats the one @SunnySideUp2020! Also I did the digital pack from the positive birth company which was similar...not really all that needed for me now but it did really help, and a lot of the positivity/affirmations etc I can take with me for a section!
I feel mixed @scrumdiddly123 but I think I would whatever the outcome was! Sad to be missing out on birth but there are a lot of positives from a planned section. Be good to have a d day! And it gets them here safely which is all that matters

BecsterG · 17/11/2020 21:10

Great news about your scan @SunnySideUp2020!!

When I was pregnant with my first I didn't think about the birth until it was imminent and I remember talking to mum about it and what she said stick. If I can do it you can! It's so true no matter what type of birth you have you can totally get through it. The midwives will be there to support you and take all the meds you need. What will be will be. Try not to over think it as you don't know what type of labour you will have. I know it's easier said than done.

I watched a lot of one born every minute before I had DS 1 to help me see what it would be like. Do you think they would help or would that freak you out more? Has your mum talked about her births with you?

Fizzl · 18/11/2020 08:36

Ah thanks everyone 😊 I'm happy to have finally made it here!

@SunnySideUp2020 I think my edd will be around the 28th June. I have my midwife appointment tomorrow, I suspect she will go with lmp which would be 24th June edd but my last scan puts me where I thought i ovulated so I'm fairly confident it should be 28th June. Thanks for updating the list and adding me on. I really hope I don't stay at the bottom for long and some of the other ladies can join us!
Also, great news about your scan - that picture is amazing. I can't believe you're half way already!

@MilsCookie I also can't believe you're having your babies next week! That feels to me like it's flown by (I'm sure it probably hasn't for you!). What lovely timing as well, you will have a super special Christmas this year with your girls! I know you've got a few hurdles to get through yet but like others have said your girls will be well looked after. I know you can't predict how long they will need some extra support but my friend had her little one at 32weeks and they were discharged home after 5 days. But I know for others they sometimes need a bit of extra support for longer.

Talking of covid - is anyone else quite panicked by this at the moment? When we fell pregnant the levels in our area were super low and had been for many months so we didn't really worry too much and thought we were quite 'safe' around here now. Since then and the unis/schools have gone back cases have sky rocketed around here. Our hospital is busier now with covid cases than it was previously. We know of several people who have recently tested positive and someone who my husband has been working with tested positive yesterday. It's all getting quite close to home now. I'm not so worried about the virus and implications, I'm more freaking out about if I got a temperature whilst still in my first trimester - I know if this were to happen I'd be convinced it will harm the baby 🤯😫 I'm not really going out but my husband is a frontline worker so had no choice and comes into contact with many people each day and it's worrying me he will bring something home 😢

Ejb86 · 18/11/2020 09:11

@Fizzl it does worry me. I contracted covid at work at beginning of October, but didn't get a temperature.

I'm off work now until baby arrives, off with anxiety as social distancing is impossible in a school. GP thinks I should be ok as I'd have some immunity, but should is not good enough for me. I already think I've had it twice and won't continue to put myself and my baby at risk.

AlviesMam · 18/11/2020 10:16

@Fizzl great to see you on this thread !! Grin

@SunnySideUp2020 great news on your scan how exciting!!! Thank you for the list too it seems surreal seeing Paisleys name and not how many weeks I am!

@MilsCookie I honestly cannot wait for your twin update I can't believe the day is approaching! same for you too @Whiffle77 our list is growing with rainbow babies!

My anxiety has calmed a little now I'm into week 2! Health visitor came yesterday and reassured me about everything so feel like my questions have been answered, I managed to get the most sleep I've had since labour last night lol! She woke for a feed at 3am and slept until 7.30 but that's probably just a one off Wink

We are getting paisley registered today! And I should be in my house in two weeks so things are moving fast!

How is everyone? (I'm currently having a badedas bath while husband is feeding and having cuddles Grin)

AlviesMam · 18/11/2020 10:17

@BS9790 How is Isaac doing xxx

SunnySideUp2020 · 18/11/2020 10:37

@Whiffle77 will definitely do the hypnobirthing as well.

@BecsterG i already watched all the one born every minute as i was always interested even before i wanted to have kids lol
But i sometimes rewatch some...
My mum isn't very helpful she only had twins (my bro and i) and so a plannes c section at 38 weeks... she was in hospital for 12 days after the birth so had all the help and time to recover before returning home.

@Fizzl i was a bit paranoid at first with covid and now i am very careful but what will be will be kind of mindset.
Covid isn't going to disappear so i try to live a normal life without overthinking it. But won't take unnecessary risks. I am lucky i don't work so not exposed but totally get people who go off work..

MilsCookie · 18/11/2020 12:20

@Fizzl that's amazing your friend could go home after 5 days having her baby at 32 weeks!! It really reassures me to hear stories like that (although I know it doesn't mean it will necessarily be the same for us). We would absolutely love it if they could be home for Christmas but don't want to get our hopes up. Their official due date is 4th Jan and I often read on twin facebook groups that people are told to aim for that date... although the neonatal consultant we spoke to said they'd try and have them home by 37 weeks gestation... so we'll see! It really depends how they are. I had my first steroids today so prepare their little lungs! The Covid stuff does make me really anxious too... my DP is a teacher so I've been constantly worried he'd bring it home too. I have to have a covid swab tomorrow prior to the c section and we both have to isolate from then... so he's stopping work as of tomorrow!

@AlviesMam so glad to hear you're feeling happier about things... and that's amazing you're moving so soon! Everything is falling into place for you Smile so happy for you! Also - I am OBSESSED with Badedas!!! I had never even heard of it before until I was living with my in-laws and DP's mum used it in the bath! I became a bit addicted to it and was finding myself pouring it onto a sponge to then sit and inhale it back at around 20 weeks... was a weird craving haha! Then when we moved into our new house I bought myself some... it really has the most amazing smell!!!

SunnySideUp2020 · 18/11/2020 14:41

@AlviesMam @MilsCookie
😂😂😂😂 ok so i have to share because i feel so ignorant but this is funny.
This whole time i thought Alviesmam had a keyboard malfunction and wanted to say she was having a badass bath 🤣😅
English isnt my first language so i just thought oh i guess it's a really awesome bath and she is really enjoying herself, but no!!!
Now going to google Badedas and absolutely want to find out what that smell is all about 😊😊

SunnySideUp2020 · 18/11/2020 14:42

@MilsCookie i hope your girls will be well and able to be home for Xmas 🎄🎁

SunnySideUp2020 · 18/11/2020 14:49

This Christmas is special for us too as last year i started bleeding around 9am on 25th December and literally spent the day in hospital to finally be told i had a MC... and the rest of the day was very sad for us.
So we are a little bit nervous but positive that this xmas we will be with DH family enjoying the day with the bump all well!

Whiffle77 · 18/11/2020 15:42

@SunnySideUp2020 that is literally what I thought @AlviesMam had said too 😂😂 I just thought good for you, you enjoy that badass bath!! Ive never heard of it either, but sounds like i need to give it a go!

Ahhh @MilsCookie I really hope your little ones are home for Xmas! My friend had babies at 35 and 36 weeks and they were only in a matter of days, so you never know. And @sunnysideup it sounds like you will be having a very different Christmas too hopefully! Its difficult to know what ours will be like, I think pretty chilled - at least with covid we won't be expected to tour all the relatives like usual! Definitely lots of hibernating for us from now on until the new year I think

Glad you are feeling so much better @alviesmam - more sleep will definitely have helped with that im sure! I bet you can't wait to be in your own house, not long now

ChampooPapi · 18/11/2020 17:49

@SunnySideUp2020 @Whiffle77 I too thought she was having a bad-ass bath 👊

Off to Google Badedas and probably purchase immediately so I can always say I'm having a bad-ass bath when I use it

SunnySideUp2020 · 18/11/2020 17:51

Haha glad to see i am not alone 😄

TerribleImagination · 18/11/2020 19:31

@SunnySideUp2020 I thought the exact same thing about the badass bath 😂😂

MilsCookie · 18/11/2020 19:48

😂😂😂 LOLLING at bad-ass bath!! I'm
always gonna think that now when I use it!!

It's in a really old fashioned green bottle, but just read the reviews on Amazon, they will be enough to make you want it!! I feel like I'm giving it loads of hype and it could be because I was craving the smell due to pregnancy, but it really is lovely!! And you only need to use a little bit and it makes loads of bubbles, so it's quite expensive but you get your money's worth!!

BS9790 · 19/11/2020 12:11

@AlviesMam, glad you got a good cut of a sleep and feeling less anxious. I can't believe you've seen health visitor and getting registered already, things are so delayed here due to covid. My HV isn't coming until next week (he'll be nearly 4 weeks old) and we couldn't get an appointment to register his birth until mid December!!

Isaac is ok, he's gaining lots of weight etc but the screaming is just unreal 😭 it's at least a few times a day for at least 2 hours at a time, he looks and sounds in so much pain. It's awful to see. Midwife suggested speaking to GP as could be reflux, so waiting for a GP phone call this afternoon. He goes 3-4 hours between feeds at night, but can take 2 hours to settle him so still not getting much sleep 😂

How is Paisley doing? x

Whiffle77 · 19/11/2020 14:51

Gonna have to get myself some of that bubble bath now, it says it is good for post partum too!!

Had my c section date though - next Wednesday!! Thats less than a week aaahhhh! Altho it's pretty much when i expected i feel overwhelmed and all of a sudden so unprepared! I just can't believe i get to meet them soon

Sorry Isaac is having some troubles @BS9790 I really hope the GP is able to help you put, it must be so distressing to see him like that. And exhausting too if he isn't settling!

ChampooPapi · 19/11/2020 18:37

Just remember c section ladies, advise is no baths for 6 weeks because your wound is not good to be soaked in water, or anything that is added to the water. I forgot this myself and started running a bath before I suddenly remembered. Just showers for 6 weeks and no direct washing over the wound with anything soapy

MilsCookie · 19/11/2020 20:37

Eeeeee @Whiffle77 this is so exciting!! We'll be two days apart 😍 I feel like yours should be before mine though 🙈 I didn't know that the badedas was good post partum - I like it even more now!

@ChampooPapi ooo thanks for the reminder. I'm such a bath girl I'll definitely miss them for 6 weeks! Also, did you have to take an anti-sickness tablet the night before? I just read somewhere that that's what you have to do, but I haven't been told this by my hospital and it's only 4 days away now and no other trips planned there until D-Day (I have been in yesterday and today for steroids/Covid swab and bloods though). Just worried they're missing something!
