Just that really.
16 weeks on Saturday and just trying to see when i can hope to feel first flutters or movements with an anterior placenta?
And what did yours feel like?

Around 21 weeks for me with my first who was anterior placenta. It is really difficult to describe what it feels like - like bubbles bursting on my skin was how I described it

peachypetite · 14/10/2020 19:19

23 weeks.

Stef92 · 14/10/2020 19:23

I'm 21 weeks and a FTM and I think I've started to feel little tickles/taps/strokes. I was told at my 20 week scan next week I should feel him in the next few weeks, I didn't know I had an anterior placenta until last week x

museumum · 14/10/2020 19:25

I don’t remember but definitely after my 20 week scan.

Freshair85 · 14/10/2020 19:25

Mine was around 20-21 weeks, I think you'll know when you feel it as it is a weird sensation, for me it felt like a little bouncy ball had been dropped in my stomach

ivfbeenbusy · 14/10/2020 19:25

16 weeks in a first pregnancy it's unlikely you'd feel movement irrespective of placenta position. I'm 21 weeks with twins. Both anterior placentas and I'd say it's only in the last 2 weeks I've felt more movement

Hannah12345625 · 14/10/2020 19:31

I am currently pregnant with my second and have an anterior placenta... I didn't feel movements at all until around 23 weeks.

FizzingWhizzbee123 · 14/10/2020 19:38

16 weeks for flutters but it’s my second. More like 19-20 weeks for any proper little kicks

Mummyinlove09 · 14/10/2020 19:41

I was 25 weeks and it felt like a little kick. I’m a first time mum too so didn’t know what to expect but there was no mistaking it 😍 best feeling in the world!

SunnySideUp2020 · 14/10/2020 19:47

Thanks everyone for sharing.
Guess I'll start to be on the look out after my 20w scan 💓

I thought I'd felt things around 19 weeks and then once I'd had my scan and the sonographer explained where baby was and where my placenta was I became more certain that what I was feeling is baby. I'm now 21 weeks and today was the first time I felt him wiggling while at work.

Drogonssmile · 14/10/2020 19:54

Around 19-20 weeks at the side

Piccalily19 · 14/10/2020 20:12

I remember it being just after the 20 week scan too, although I’d had suspicions little bubbles I’d felt in the week or 2 before may have been baby but I’m a FTM too so no idea!
I’m 23 weeks now and have had a good 2 weeks of proper little kicks and my partner has even felt a couple 😀
Drinking a cold drink slouched on the sofa in the evening tends to get him wiggling. I’ve found my best bets at feeling him are if I put my thumbs on my belly button and hands flat on my belly with my finger tips together pointing to my lady area and press down a bit, it seems to make a nice circle around where I assume the placenta is for me at the front so can feel things at the sides of it 😂

peachypetite · 14/10/2020 20:34

Up to 24 is normal so don’t put pressure on yourself, you will eventually!

Skyla01 · 14/10/2020 21:21

About 22 weeks. Also ftm with anterior placenta. 16 weeks is very early for movements still.

ChikiTIKI · 14/10/2020 21:22

Only felt once day before 20 week scan

Christmastree43 · 14/10/2020 21:24

I was around 24 weeks and even after that movements weren't hugely regular or big/ distinctive. I did worry at times and went for an extra private scan for reassurance once. Every scan I had baby was wriggling around like crazy and I couldn't feel a thing! Had my beautiful baby girl at the end of June, congratulations OP you're in for a world of joy 😊

mashainpink · 14/10/2020 21:25

22/23 weeks

NWnature · 14/10/2020 21:48

Mine took ages honestly, I think even 28 weeks I was still unsure of movements. It can make discerning a pattern a bit stressful but on the plus side I’ve never had a really wriggly baby/ painful kicks!

BL89 · 14/10/2020 22:24

I'm a FTM and felt baby from 16 weeks, which get stronger every week (currently 20 weeks). I didn't expect to feel anything until 24 weeks as I have anterior placenta and was initially playing 'is that baby or gas?'Grin

biscuit13 · 14/10/2020 23:26

@SunnySideUp2020 had a low anterior placenta to start with and felt very first definite movement at 19 weeks. Felt like a muscle twitch or a tap from the inside 🥰
Im 37 weeks now with high anterior placenta and baby kicks the hell out of me daily haha 😂

Turtleturtle81 · 15/10/2020 06:43

23 weeks for me. It felt similar to muscle twitches you get in your arm when really tired.

MissHoney85 · 15/10/2020 07:32

For me I think it started around 19 weeks, though I wasn't sure initially if I was imagining it. For me the sensation is mostly external - big muscle twitches as others have said. Still at 27 weeks the twitches are bigger but I don't really feel much inside. Sometimes I can feel baby pushing on my bladder but I don't think I've ever had the bubbles inside type feelings.

MnM156 · 15/10/2020 08:35

A few flutters around 21 weeks. Movement by 23 weeks. FTM here with anterior placenta.
