@Mococo1 glad 20 week scan went well and that he's still a boy ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿคฃ I double checked too and deffo saw the boy bits came home and said to DH yep still a boy.... I had this fear what if they were wrong and I'd bought boy clothes!! X

@Sophi123 congratulations on your lovely scan what a cute little baba ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿผx

@Busybee143 congratulations on being team pink ๐Ÿ’— what a cutie x

@Bl0ndi3 another beautiful scan pic ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜ congratulations x

@MrsEmilyB another beautiful scan ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜ congratulations x

Love the name chat ladies I like those names Luna and poppy they were on our shortlist for girls names too. We too found picking boys names hard last time we used the only name we could agree on for DS but we managed to narrow down to three names and have now decided on one name....I've bought something personalised for him now so we don't change our minds haha!!

23 weeks today and can feel my little guy wiggling around in there....so excited for March to be here I literally can't wait ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ˜ x

Cocoblue22 · 14/11/2020 08:46

Ladies here's a question.....what will you wear on Christmas Day/Boxing Day etc? X

Bl0ndi3 · 14/11/2020 14:50

Ladies what were your ferritin results from your blood tests - I only have my booking in blood results and the midwife I saw yesterday said they were low... but I already take a vitamin with iron in it..... ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”

I am so exhausted today, OH is being so moody even though I got up with DSS and he slept in til late so I cba with this day lol. Rugby is on soon though at least ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ‰

@Cocoblue22 I haven't decided yet I normally wear jeans and a Christmassy top/jumper/blouse but I think I'll be opting for something more comfortable this year though will only be 18/19 weeks so I might not be showing like you will be as most of you are much further along xx.

I've been keeping an eye on "Christmas maternity size ??" As a saved search on eBay haha I have won a Santa baby T-shirt so far lol

Ltay2 · 14/11/2020 15:09

@Bl0ndi3 I'm not sure what my results were exactly but they were all ok. It's quite common to have low iron in pregnancy though so you may just need some extra iron tablets!

@Cocoblue22 I'm thinking I'll wear leggings with a long jumper of some kind. Going to wait until nearer the time and see how big I am and then decide what to order โ˜บ๏ธ

SmileyT · 14/11/2020 15:55

@Cocoblue22 yay that you've picked a final name for your little boy, so exciting, only 16 weeks until you get to meet him ๐Ÿ’™

I've never planned a Xmas/ Boxing Day outfit so I'm guessing I'll just pick something in the morning like I normally do. We normally have about 30 of my family round for Xmas day at my parents but don't know if it will be a very different vibe this year ๐Ÿ˜•

@Bl0ndi3 on my 16week phone appt (I didn't see a MW at 12) they told me I had borderline low iron levels based on my bloods taken at 8weeks and I was taking iron tablets at the time, but they said it was nothing to worry about and they would take bloods again at 26weeks to check again x

Madz123 · 14/11/2020 15:57

@Bl0ndi3 mine were 5 so I now have to take ferrous sulphate as well as my multivitamin with iron ๐Ÿ™„

Sophi123 · 14/11/2020 19:27

Hope you've all had good Saturdays! I have managed about 24 hours of relaxing and feeling positive, but now anxiety has crept back in about the screening test results - I'm 34 and had a nuchal transparency measurement of 2.2mm but guess all dependent on blood test results. I know there is nothing I can do and just have to wait, but just feels like one anxiety after another.... how have others handled this and the constant set of things to worry about?

blodyn91 · 14/11/2020 20:29

@Bl0ndi3 are you vegeterian? I remember a couple on here were.
@Cocoblue22 similar to Smiley I never usually plan much of an outfit as I usually go back to my parents farm and help dad feed the animals and we go for a walk in the afternoon if its nice. I definitely want to buy a new christmas jumper, but will wait till closer to the time as atm I can just fit into a size 10 ๐Ÿ™„

blodyn91 · 14/11/2020 20:31

@Sophi123 I tried to distract myself my doing things off my phone. So reading a book and im doing a woodland themed cross stich thing atm. Concentrating doing that helped me forget, and I would read before bed/still do. Anxiety has definitely lessened recently, so it does get better, but I doubt the worry ever goes

Bl0ndi3 · 14/11/2020 20:33

@Madz123 ahh okay my midwife said tk ring my GP about it so I assume they'll prescribe me something.

Mine weren't quite as low as yours but she said they want them min 30 and mine was 20.

@blodyn91 yeah vegetarian which I suspect is the reason behind it because I'm taking a multi vit with iron in it already so I'm obviously not getting enough from my diet too!

@Sophi123 please try not to worry, it's not going to change anything so you're just causing yourself stress xxxxx im officially trying to be relaxed now after the scan yesterday and hopefully can stay that way.

Madz123 · 14/11/2020 21:10

@Bl0ndi3 just seen that you're vegetarian too- make sure you tell them this before they prescribe anything as the most common tablet- ferrous sulphate- is not always vegetarian. I got prescribed it but actually went and bought ferrous fumerate over the counter as it's similar but vegetarian.

Cocoblue22 · 14/11/2020 22:00

@Bl0ndi3 I was already massive at 18 weeks!! 23 now and people keep commenting that I must not have long left ๐Ÿคฃ I've even started lying and saying February instead of March (I do think it will be more like end of Feb to be fair he will Deffo be born by 5th March haha) x

Thanks ladies....maybe I will wait and see what I feel like wearing normally like to feel a bit dressy but still comfy x

Sophi123 · 14/11/2020 22:07

Thanks @blodyn91@Bl0ndi3. I'm going to try and relax again, stop googling and do some things off the internet - I've actually been doing some cross stitch recently too!

Bl0ndi3 · 14/11/2020 22:11

@Sophi123 googling is the devil but such an easy trap to fall into. Just think how worried you've already been and how perfect baby was at your scan - so you'd been so worried for nothing. Nobody can know that things will be okay, we all know things can go bad but more often than not they go absolutely perfect you so hold onto that hope and positivity honey don't let the fear drag you down โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ

I've literally just laughed so hard my belly hurt and I had to stop myself googling whether laughing too much can hurt the baby haha.

Bl0ndi3 · 14/11/2020 22:12

@Madz123 oooh thank you I will see what they say on Monday when I ring! I'd been looking at just buying some iron supplement anyway but want GP advice first xx

@Cocoblue22 I'm starting to get a little bump/bulge now but not so much that people will think anything of it haha hoping to be showing by Christmas at this rate xx

samilicious · 14/11/2020 23:02

@Cocoblue22 I've got a swanky dress in the sale on asos to wear for Xmas day. I have no idea why, probs not going to be massively comfy but got it in the bigger size. I think it's just because I was so excited to wear cute mat clothes and literally just slob about in tracky bottoms all the time cuz of lockdown ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ

@blodyn91 @Ltay2 I did a free Mindful Birth intro class week and it was soo good! Not hippy dippy at all, just practical ways of staying chill and preparing for any kind of birth with no judgement. Even OH liked it. Deffo recommend checking them out if you haven't already, even just the free intro course if you've signed up for another. I've paid ยฃ50 for the full course, includes hypnobirthing and even a section on prepping your dog/other children for the birth (for other ladies not FTMs)

Also, @Ltay2 I've brought that Cosatto pram! Bloody hope it's ok now ๐Ÿ˜… I've had it a few months because I liked the design that was limited edition, I got the whole 9 yards bundle. I'm getting it out of the packaging for a test after my 20 week scan on Thursday so will post some pics / let you know initial thoughts. I bought mine after watching a YouTube video of a normal kinda mum (not an influencer type) reviewing the same one she'd had 4 years which is what swayed me

samilicious · 14/11/2020 23:06

@Bl0ndi3 I think Luna is a lovely name!

@SmileyT can't wait to hear your name ๐Ÿฅฐ

@blodyn91 how is all the house stuff going? Any ideas of a move in date?

I really love the name Polly as it's known but not super common (not in the top lists that I've seen) and has multiple family connections to my OH. But we vaguely knew someone with that name years ago, so he's put off it. He said he liked it before I got pregnant so feel well cheated now! Can't get my head around any others

LittleRa · 14/11/2020 23:30

Ladies, I donโ€™t know if this will be the case in anyone elseโ€™s trust, but just to pass on as I know a few people had been keen on a water birth. Iโ€™ve recently found out that at the hospital Iโ€™m due to give birth at, if you have a positive Covid test within 90 days before giving birth you will be unable to use the birth pools, even if you have gone on to recover and test negative in the meantime. The reasoning appears to be because the virus can remain in your bodily fluids for that length of time (90 days), including faeces. Totally TMI but; although youโ€™re just as likely to poo during labour on a bed as in the pool, when on a bed it is more straightforward and easy to clean up without cross contamination whereas in the pool itโ€™s a bit more of a complicated catch it before it disintegrates and disperses in the water type of situation.
I know that things can happen along the way and within the actual labour which would mean that a water birth wouldnโ€™t be possible anyway, but it would just be so galling to contract Covid in, say, January and then be otherwise well but that mean that a water birth is off the cards in March (my dates) Sad

Bl0ndi3 · 15/11/2020 08:01

@LittleRa hopefully that doesn't end up being the case for you lovely. Also things might change by March you never know โค๏ธ

I got a letter yesterday for the House of Commons after writing to my MP, unfortunately jt came a day too late for my scan and it didn't say anything I hadn't already been told but it was nice that my local MP pursued it for me.

@samilicious he's officially ruled Luna out now so it's off our list ๐Ÿ˜ญ however Poppy is officially in the running and he actually seemed to really like it this time when we talked names after always saying he isn't keen but wouldn't rule it out because of its sentimental aspect to me..... and DSS has been asking to go through the top names lists and then picking names he likes from it and making his own list - Poppy is on his for a girl ๐Ÿฅฐ just need to actually have a girl now ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜‚

Boys we are still struggling as there's only really one contender so far that we both love but I'd like to have a couple more names in the running for choice. DSS doesn't like Freddie said it will give him nightmares because of some game he watches on YouTube ๐Ÿ™„

We won't be telling anybody of our name choices like family and friends etc to avoid any unwanted opinions.

We have told everybody who we care about now which has been really nice. I'm going to tell the rest of my colleagues at work tomorrow and then perhaps announce on social after 20 weeks

blodyn91 · 15/11/2020 09:26

@samilicious we had our mortage application meeting by phone yesterday, will be min 6 weeks for that to be approved. Solicitors will not be working over Christmas. I had hoped we could move in early Jan, maybe late Jan is more realistic. Just neeeds to be before March!

@sophi123 I find cross stitch so relaxing ๐Ÿ˜… might attempt to learn to knit

Has anybody else been having big stomach/digestion issues? My constipation reached a new level last week so yesterday I decided to cut fibre out and literally just ate meat and dairy all day. Ive had the best night sleep, and I could even feel my bump last night! Im usually so bloated I look pregnant from the bloat. Reading up on gluten sensitivity and supposedly pregnancy can be a trigger. Anybody come across this?

samilicious · 15/11/2020 10:08

@blodyn91 that's good that it's going through ok - I'm sure you'll be in in no time :)

@LittleRa thanks for the info. You would think that it wouldn't matter about stuff like that, because surely they're cleaning well enough to avoid any kind of bacteria/disease spread from someone's poo in a pool! I guess they're just being extra cautious but just sounds a bit gross to me, like they don't have much faith in their cleaning procedures ๐Ÿคข

@Bl0ndi3 Poppy is a beautiful name! Your boys names sounded great too, one of them was the boys name we chose :) hopefully will get to use that some day in the future

samilicious · 15/11/2020 10:11

Also @blodyn91 yes! But mine is the opposite - bad acid reflux :( struggling to eat big portions / keep eating loads and feeling rotten for days. So upping fibre but keeping it veg-based so its mega easy to digest :) have you ever tried low fodmap? Whenever I've had issues before eating that way really helps me

Catherinettc · 15/11/2020 11:59

Hey ladies xx

Not been on much. Keep having a wee nosey though. Not much to report tbh. Been doing the whole name thing too and it's so hard to get a name or even a couple that we agree on ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคฃ

Do has come up with a horrendous name for a boy that i won't even entertain lol. My eldest daughter is not my hubbys but her bio dad has never set eyes on her (his own choice) and been with hubby since she was a baby so as far as dd and dad are concerned he's her dad (she knows the truth) but omg he wants to name our boy her bio dads name!! Yes he wants it double barrelled with another name but he can't be serious??

Boys names so far

Caolan(keelan)
Stiofan (steven) not keen even though its my dads name lol
Eoin (owen)

Girls

Eleyna
Niamh
Charley
Grace or gracie
Elish

And thats about it ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ it wasn't this hard with my other kids lol (cherice, shay and Katie)

On the plus side find out soon on 5th December so will take away one of the genders so less stress ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Busybee143 · 15/11/2020 18:16

I really need some inspiration for girls names.
My oh loves matilda but I'm not keen
I love clementine (clemmi) but oh likes clemmi not clementine.
We have some shared likes so things like Elsie, Enid, Nellie, Primrose but I just don't feel like we've found the one yet. It really doesn't help that I'm a teacher so I'm trying to stay clear of isabel, Kaitlyn etc even though they are beautiful names because I hear them all day long.
Hit me with a tonne of ideas guys.

blodyn91 · 15/11/2020 21:00

@samilicious not heard of fodmap before so just googled it! Will definitely give it a try. Ive just realised I haven't drank milk for two days ๐Ÿ˜ณ and I really hope milk isn't the cause ๐Ÿ˜ญ

@Busybee143 The girls names we had though of was Seren (star), Eira (snow), Daisy and Rose
Finding it hard to think of any others now ๐Ÿ˜†
