Madz123 · 26/10/2020 02:29

@Ltay2 @Mococo1 seems like everyone is having girls ๐Ÿ˜Š I wasn't expecting a girl- saved all of DS's old baby things and now want to go out and buy everything pink ๐Ÿ˜‚

Busybee143 · 26/10/2020 04:33

@Madz123 congrats on the girl!!!!

Mustbemad82 · 26/10/2020 05:39

Lovely lovely scan pics @Mrsi2020 and again congrats to all those whi have updated about genders
We have our gender scan in 11 days and I was convinced it was a girl but not am not sure ! It seems girls are ruling the thread at the moment

Sorry to read and run- I havenโ€™t been getting alerts on my phone about messages so feel well behind but hope you are all ok

@Sausage1990 I have been thinking about you, that rainbow is waiting for you my darling x

Busybee143 · 26/10/2020 08:43

@SmileyT I think I'm actually going to wait till 16 or 20 weeks too to tell work people. I hate revealing big stuff too ๐Ÿ˜‚

Catherinettc · 26/10/2020 13:37

Hey guys x finally got my 12 week scan date @SmileyT so if u could mark me down for 5th November please :) hubby allowed in with me im so relieved โค

So jealous of all ur gender scans im dying to know what im having! I dreamt it was a girl the other night but not sure if any truth in it lol xx

Dipsy77 · 26/10/2020 15:28

20 week scan done and everything looks good, I'm so relieved. Back at 24 weeks for first growth scan and had to have my bloods redone to check my anaemia. My blood pressure was high but they put it down to nerves for scan. Here's the pic I put on Facebook to announce it. This was the best of a bad bunch she wouldn't stop moving or screwing up the pictures ๐Ÿ˜†

@Dipsy77 aww cute announcement pic love it ๐Ÿ˜ x

blodyn91 · 26/10/2020 17:32

Can I ask what happened at everybody's 16 week midwife appointment? I already dislike my midwife after 2 text ๐Ÿ™ˆ I texted her today asking when the phone appointment is as im 16 weeks today and need to know for work reasons and just said I was gutted about not hearing the HB as an 8 week wait to see if baby is ok is a long worrying wait. I was expecting a reply saying we can discuss at the appointment what we can do/ try not to worry. But she just quoted NICE saying HB cant be listened to till 24 weeks! I know thats bullshit from what you have said here plus my friends and sister!
Its really annoyed me.
Said my blood pressure and urine isnt important till week 24 either.
How can someone make an assumption that everything is ok when nobody has spoken to me in 4 weeks?
Surely if the appointments are by phone they have more time for everyone. Why did it take me to contact her when she had texted 4 weeks ago saying shell be in contact.
Just annoyed and wound up and already want to sack her ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜…
My sisters being a better midwife than her so far

Dipsy77 · 26/10/2020 17:46

@blodyn91 the midwife listened to heartbeat at 16 weeks and I've had blood pressure taken at all face to face appointments. She sounds like one of the midwifes at our surgery does everything by the book and sounds like she is reading a script. Luckily I avoid her at all costs xx

blodyn91 · 26/10/2020 18:09

@Dipsy77 yes the text are like pre written script ๐Ÿ˜ซ๐Ÿ˜ซ I definitely think ill get a private scan to find gender out and to re assure myself, shes obviously not going to be a very helpful woman ๐Ÿ˜ญ I really wanted a good midwife so I could consider home birth.

SmileyT · 26/10/2020 20:41

Ahh after my scan today I updated my list and realised that I don't get to add anymore scan dates as I'm all done now, will have first F2F MW appt just before Xmas, standardly seems ages away, especially as I've had scans every 2 weeks so far ๐Ÿ˜‚

@Madz123 yay to another girlie ๐Ÿ’–

Currently 6 girls ๐Ÿ’– and 3 boys ๐Ÿ’™

@Mustbemad82 not long until yours xx

@Busybee143 if I wasn't the size of a small house now I'd probably have waited longer ๐Ÿ™ˆ

@Catherinettc added to the list not long to go x

@blodyn91 I don't even have a named midwife or mobile number, I called the general midwife line 15 times today because I forgot to ask for my MATB1 form at my scan and they didn't answer once or call back ๐Ÿ˜ค did she at least tell you when your appt would be? Also if you go for a home birth I thought you got allocated one of the 'homebirth' community midwives rather than the hospital ones (this could be something I read/ could be something I made up but worth checking ๐Ÿ˜‚) don't let her get you down though, I'm sure all is absolutely perfect with baby and you'll start feeling movements soon especially with your little bump ๐Ÿฅฐ

OP posts:
blodyn91 · 26/10/2020 21:18

@SmileyT You know what I also have no idea..adding it to the list of things to ask.
I contacted her today.
Why is it all so different everywhere, I find it all confusing and I don't like it ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜ซ
So you've had a different midwife with every phone appointment?
Thats your last NHS scan unless the decide to give you more based on growth?

Mococo1 · 26/10/2020 22:06

@blodyn91 I didn't get to hear the heartbeat at my 16w appointment either!

but midwife said it was because sometimes it's too early and the machines can be dodgy! I have my own which is now nice and clear however I find the midwife appointments rather boring? They don't do very much! She has however booked me in at 24weeks too and it's always on a weekend so I'm looking to change that!

Btw a lady put up her maternity bag list on peanut and it was so fab I thought I would post it on here incase any of us ftms needed it!

So thought Iโ€™d plan ahead and write the list for my hospital bag due to having baby number 1 at 35 weeks due to a few complications. Thinking of packing from 28 weeks this time just to be safe. Is there anything that Iโ€™m missing?

Mococo1 · 26/10/2020 22:07

Sorry the whole post pasted ๐Ÿ˜‚

Mustbemad82 · 27/10/2020 07:05

@Mococo1
Iโ€™m not sure what the policy is with your hospital but Iโ€™ve heard stories where partners can stay throughout but if they leave, they are unable to come back to the ward
It may be worth thinking about a flask, hot water and snacks too

My friends husband went to the car to collect a Cool bag heโ€™d left there as he hadnโ€™t eaten for over 13 hours and was not readmitted to the delivery suite- sounds insane but I do think people have lost all sense of reason during this time
I work for the NHS and sometimes think that the pandemic is a bureaucrats dream!

Plenty of snacks for you both and drinks for your significant other x

Mustbemad82 · 27/10/2020 07:06

I also needed a couple of flannels- made DH cool them under the two and place them down there when or between pushing - such relief

Dipsy77 · 27/10/2020 07:11

For the hospital bag is good to use the clear plastic freezer zip bags to put things in and label up so OH can go straight to it when needed as you don't want to be fiddling through a bag because he doesn't know where things are which is the norm in our house xx

Mococo1 · 27/10/2020 07:22

@Mustbemad82 @Dipsy77 thank you ladies will be adding these!

I think u can't be deadlifted in my hosp too which is silly- hoping things change by March tho! X

Busybee143 · 27/10/2020 09:02

@Dipsy77 your daughter doesn't look too far off the same age as mine. How are you coping picking her up and stuff with a bump? I'm worrying at times I'm putting too much pressure or weight on my bump and I hardly even have one. Anybody else with little ones already help?

samilicious · 27/10/2020 10:59

@Sausage1990 thank you for checking in and so happy to hear work are being understanding. Really worrying about that as I know you've been worried about returning to work any way - it sounds like they're being helpful which is good. Look after yourself you ver the next few months, take lots of time to relax and enjoy the festive season as much as you can around lockdown stuff xxx

samilicious · 27/10/2020 11:13

@Bl0ndi3 great bargs!

Has anybody started a baby registry or done one before? I tried to start one on Amazon but can't see how to add stuff from other sites. Tried to follow their instructions but doesn't seem to work ๐Ÿค”
Went to this outlet mall thing near us and got some cute Next and M&S Outlet clothes bargains. Agree though @Ltay2 Matalan is the one!

@Mococo1 great list, thank you!

@Mrsi2020 love your banner and balloons! So sweet

@LittleRa @blodyn91 aww Erin ๐Ÿฅฐ my Scottish cousin has a little girl called Erin and she is the most beautiful, smart little lady! Great name

@blodyn91 how is your week with the fam going?
Midwife sounds like a nightmare! I had my appt and she listened to the heartbeat but did say that NICE says they shouldn't do it but she does it any way ๐Ÿ˜‚ if you won't panic too much, that cheap Doppler I got off eBay was a bit crackly and took a while to find the baby but still fab. Also on my private gender scan we listened to the heartbeat too - went to a different place this time not Window to the Womb

@SmileyT exciting! How quick has time flown?!

Mustbemad82 · 27/10/2020 12:42

Can I just say team pink here too
