@mrsmummy1111 I had considered a home birth but with my history of PP heammorages it wasn't even an option for me to be in the birth suite. I have to go on the ward. Are you worried about the neighbours hearing screams haha.

My trust are allowing partners now for the 20 week scan AND all of the birth. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

My trust currently :

12 week scan NO
20 week scan YES
Labour 2 partners allowed when in active labour (presume this is from 4cm?) and can visit for 2 hours on ward.

@Dipsy77 well by the time you get to DD4 and DD5 I'll be coming to you for all the tips while I'm struggling with one 👌🏾

@zippityzip and @mrsmummy1111 I was listening to the BJ press conference yesterday and they did specifically mention that Kent is in a really good space covid-wise so hopefully you'll both have no issues with hubbys being allowed at whole birth 🤞

Thanks for all the info ladies, I didn't know about them not being able to leave and come back, what a shitshow. I'm also very lucky that the hospital is a 5min drive/ 20min walk from our house, but there is no way that I'd get him to leave the hospital grounds if I was in labour. Inductions definitely seem to be a dodgy one for the 'established labour' thing, being induced alone is 💩

@Bl0ndi3 reading your message made me want to double check my hospital policy and OH can now attend the 20week scan (it's on Monday) according to the website 🥳 still only one birth partner but I won't be sad if they keep this as my mum was at my brothers children's births so would definitely assume she'd be at mine if allowed and I'd rather not have that convo with her 🙈

I'm staying positive we'll all get the births we want/ deserve either at home or in hospital come next year 🤞🤞

@SmileyT I really would not want anybody else at my birth other than my OH anyway - especially not a parent hahaha F that - so the fact I can have 2 birth partners really isn't positive news for me haha id rather swap that for 12 week scan tyvm nhs

Oh fuck. My friend who is a couple of weeks ahead of me had her 20 week scan today (a few weeks late as at her actual 20 weeks the baby was in an awkward position so they rescheduled). They've just identified a missing membrane in his brain. Which could mean a whole host of awful things.

I literally don't even know what to say. Like how can I help?!

Also conscious I don't want to flaunt my currently healthy pregnancy in her face. I can't even imagine how she feels. Did not see this coming at all.

@zippityzip my sister had this! Whats it called again? It was hell for two weeks, then the second specialist they saw acctually saw the membrane! My niece has now just turned 1 and is perfect, definitely no part of her brain missing.
🤞🤞🤞 her story turns out to be like my sisters! The waiting was horrendous though. My mum was in bits over it.

@Bl0ndi3 agree! only OH gets to see me in that state! I also don't even want visitors till Ive got home and showered 😆😆

My DSS has to self isolate as somebody in his bubble had a positive test 😖😖😖😖😖

@SmileyT my 20w Scan is Monday 7th December

My gender scan is Saturday 7th November x

I've gotta say ladies I am loving this thread. Reading some others on Mumsnet it's like half the population have had a fresh batch of menopause hormones as they've been absolute vipers this week.

@Bl0ndi3 Does this mean you have to isolate too? (I don't know the rules at all!) hope DSS is ok!!

@blodyn91 I think it's an absent CSP - very long name I can't remember. I'm so glad it worked out for your sister it's given me hope. I've been Googling and honestly if it's the case it looks bleak.

@zippityzip Just checked with her, and its the same membrane the Cavum Septum (CSP). I think they miss it in a lot of scans, from what my sister was told/googled. Im assuming your friend will be sent to see a specialist now, I can't remember if my sister went private or through NHS, but the first specialist in Wrexham still couldn't see it, so she was then sent to Liverpool, she then had loads of scans in Liverpool going forward to just tripple check everything. She did end up having a C section because of babys position and nothing to do with this. Its a horrible time for your friend, shes probably thinking and preparing for the worse. I just told my sister that if she terminates we will support it, its her decision. Its put her off having a third baby those traumatic 2 weeks! If she wants to ask anything I can ask my sister anything ☺️ But yes stay hopeful if you can!

@blodyn91 Oh that's so sweet of you to check, yep she's due an appointment with a specialist in the next three days. I'm gonna check in with her again today but that's exactly the same thing.
So in the end did the specialist find your nieces CSP in the scan??
Her baby is very low down in the pelvis and that's why they've struggled to see it.

@zippityzip we don't have to self isolate thankfully just him, unless he shows symptoms then we do of course.

He's still allowed to go to his mums house etc again until symptoms so that's good as 14 days is a long time for either house to not see him.

He's fine luckily it's half term next week so he won't miss much actual school. Just makes
me a bit nervous incase he does get it and therefore I do etc but it is what it is.

@zippityzip yes sorry the 2nd specialist found it straight away! Even of this first specialist doesn't see ot make her go see another one!

@blodyn91 I'll definitely let her know. What is good, is that they didn't spot any other problems and usually a missing CSP is joined with other comorbid conditions, it's rare just for that to be missing. So I'm hopeful for her.

@Bl0ndi3 Fingers crossed no symptoms come your way! I'm terrified of catching it as I'm due to give birth.

Just a quick one guys, all well at scan today although baby was very awkward and it took aaageees to get the measurements, I was so happy to see baby again. EDD 30th April, I'm 13 weeks pretty much bang on so I'm officially in the second trimester!!

Always imagined myself having a girl first so well happy

Went to a smaller ultrasound place - was £45 instead of £70 at Window to the Womb where I've been before. They did a 4D pic as part of the second package as well - so freaky! Cute though, she was putting her arms up to hide 😊

I know I've said before about keeping the sex a secret but think we're going to tell everyone on Christmas Day. Going to be a weird one this year, so at least there's that to look forward to

Hope all you ladies are doing fantastic! I feel time is really flying by and @zippityzip I love that picture 😂 first time pregnant but I can really relate to first and second trimester.
