For those who EBF until 1 year, when did your period return? During breastfeeding or did you have to stop completely for it to return. Thank you.

Mine came back when my daughter was 9 months. I continued to BF her until she was 18 months

KitKatastrophe · 22/09/2020 16:46

It varies so much. Mine returned at 4 months postpartum. I continued to feed my daughter until she was 2.5 years. I was pregnant when she stopped feeding.

Itsalwayssunnyupnorth · 22/09/2020 16:47

I feel like Iv drawn a short straw EBF at the min baby is 7 weeks and I have come in my period! This is not fair 🤦🏼‍♀️

Triskaidekaphilia · 22/09/2020 16:56

Mine came back 14 weeks after giving birth. Got pregnant second month of trying, bfp just after daughter's first birthday. Was pretty unpleasant in between though as she is an early teether and got bitey every period. Sad

9-10 months for both, once weaning onto food was more established

AegonT · 22/09/2020 18:09

I exclusively breastfed till 6 months then continued to breastfeed whilst offering water from a cup and food three times a day. I did baby-led weaning so she didn't eat much till ten months. My period came back at 8 months just after I returned to work (I was still breastfeeding her morning, lunch, evening and overnight).

SweetTeaInTheSummer · 22/09/2020 18:10

11 months for me

CeeceeBloomingdale · 22/09/2020 18:11

About 22 months both times

OneUsernameOnly · 22/09/2020 18:12

Mine came back at the 6-7 week mark despite me ebf which I did for 6 months then continued bf for 3 years - periods came back very regular straight away! Same for all my dc

AntiHop · 22/09/2020 18:12

8 months.

Brunilde · 22/09/2020 18:25

Mine was at about 10 months. He had dropped to just 2 feeds a day, one morning and one before bed. Wasn't interested at all the rest of the time.

kirinm · 22/09/2020 18:28

Mine came back around 3 months pp which seemed unfair.

GlennRheeismyfavourite · 22/09/2020 20:43

EBF - I was disappointed that they were back by about 4 months!

DramaAlpaca · 22/09/2020 20:52

It was four months for me too. I was pregnant again a couple of months later. DS stopped breastfeeding at nine months, when I was 12 weeks pregnant.

Pascha · 22/09/2020 20:53

14 months and 9 months.

AnneLovesGilbert · 22/09/2020 20:58

4 months here too. I had advance warning with very strong ovulation symptoms two weeks earlier and felt very cheated! Still feeding at 18 months and they’ve beeb clock work since they came back.

GunsAndShips · 22/09/2020 20:59

Dc1 12 weeks
Dc2 12 months

FirstTimeBumps · 22/09/2020 21:02

Almost spot on a year (5 days over). Fell pregnant on first cycle

Megan2018 · 22/09/2020 21:03

4 months post partum! I was robbed. Baby EBF (and feeds tons), now 1 year old and periods have been regular as clockwork since she was 4 months old.
I was hoping for a seamless transition to menopause as I’m in my 40’s but alas not Hmm

SockQueen · 22/09/2020 21:03

First time 13 months. Second time 4 months. He was a better sleeper so I reckon that had something to do with he (frequent night time feeding suppresses the hormones that cause periods)

9 months once she was having 3 meals a day (still feeding lots and overnight too)

Megan2018 · 22/09/2020 21:05

@SockQueen frequent (all bloody night) night feeding here and still came back at 4 months!

emelsie · 22/09/2020 21:16

I heard it could be linked to night feeding's , mine came back at nearly 19 months , she had a dip in night feeds and that was enough to trigger it , still feeding now at 22 months and been regular since then. Just out of curiosity @Megan2018 did you ever express milk and did you feed on demand ?

RoseGoldEagle · 22/09/2020 21:43

9 months with both. Was still feeding a fair bit at the time. Got pregnant immediately with baby 3 and am due in a few weeks and still feeding DS.
