As above really? What things did you ask for to be in place or things you wanted to avoid? I'm thinking pain relief escalation etc. too

@Twizbe
That is so lovely that you wanted your husband to announce the sex.

Mine was pretty simple - get the three of us through safe and sound, with all the drugs necessary. Clean babies up first before cuddles, DH to not cut the cords.

I had an elcs in the end, babies were cleaned up before cuddles and DH didn’t cut any cords.

It was super important to me. I also knew that with births, that was one of the few things that I could actually control. Somehow I'd have to find out the sex of the baby and whatever happened my husband could be the one to share that info with me.

With our daughter he actually was the one to scoop her up out of the pool and hand her to me

I wrote one that was about 2 pages including pictures. I don't think I got it out in the end but me and my husband knew it by heart. For me I'm a planner so it was quite cathartic to write it all down, and have plan a, b, c etc. A birth plan with only one plan is not a good (or realistic!) plan! You should consider what you would like in different scenarios, this will help you remain in control and not by sidelined if things diveate from plan a. Apart from a last minute decision making me high risk I got to follow most of my plan and knew how it needed to be adjusted when I was switched to the labour ward.
