@Mrsi2020 Yes thats how I have my cornflakes!! and shreddies 😋😋 Its a treat for me as I have porridge in the morning 😝

Loving the name chat!
My brother is called Elis ☺️

Mrsi2020 · 30/09/2020 21:18

Ooh Elis is lovely! I like Miller too xx

mrsmummy1111 · 30/09/2020 21:29

Do you know what guys, this is actually proving really helpful already as you've already mentioned some names we discussed when pregnant with DS but ultimately decided on his actual name (which nobody has listed and I'm 99% sure nobody will). But Toby, Jesse, Myles and Milo I genuinely like. DS's middle name is my darling granddad who passed away before getting to meet him, so we've agreed that if we have a DS2 it'll have my husbands granddads name as a middle name, which is Miles. However, now I think about it I don't actually know whether I might bump it up to first name contender status. THATS RIGHT. HEARD IT HEAR FIRST.

Thanks for cheering me up ladies, it's been a steaming turd of a week but this thread has really kept me going

mrsmummy1111 · 30/09/2020 21:31

*HERE

Ffs, grammar police are gonna be on my arse for that one.

Mustbemad82 · 30/09/2020 21:34

@mrsmummy1111 I like teddie, couldn’t have that as I have a Freddie but I think it’s sweet- what about Jude, gene , kelly etc as male names that can be a little more unisex

Mustbemad82 · 30/09/2020 21:35

Just read milo- that’s a fab name ! Love that
I like the old fashioned ones I’m
Afraid , I think Ernie and reggie are cute

Bl0ndi3 · 30/09/2020 21:36

@mrsmummy1111 😂

They're all grate names (I did that just to make you feel better. 🤣)

mrsmummy1111 · 30/09/2020 21:37

@Mustbemad82 My mum is actually vying for Jude! She never had any boys (had 5 girls!) so never got to name a son but she loves it. She also likes Reuben which is a firm no, but Jude is beautiful and like you say, not too blokey

mrsmummy1111 · 30/09/2020 21:37

And that's the kind of moral support I'm here for @Bl0ndi3

Bl0ndi3 · 30/09/2020 21:40

@mrsmummy1111 I got your back gurlllll 😎

Mrsi2020 · 30/09/2020 21:44

@mrsmummy1111 I think miles is a beautiful name and not overused at all! Lol at this thread girls! It’s cheered me up today too after nearly killing everyone in my house all evening hahaha

Freddie is lovely , you could totally have a frankie! My dss is Ronnie and I love it! Would you go Albie?

Mrsi2020 · 30/09/2020 21:52

Has Ralph been mentioned?! Xx

Catherinettc · 30/09/2020 21:53

My nephew is tiernan and I love it but obviously can't use it lol I also like korie, summer, sienna, I liked kayla too but I was put off by someone with the name 🤣🤣 blaine is also nice for a boy xx

Bl0ndi3 · 30/09/2020 21:56

@Mrsi2020 yeah :) my DSS is Ralph and @mrsmummy1111 has a friend who stole that name off her (not really 😂) xx it's a great name - I can't take the credit for it tho with my DSS sadly

LittleRa · 30/09/2020 22:05

Hi all,

Loving the name chat. My DD is called Alice.

Girl names: Erin, Niamh, Robyn, Emmy
Boy names: Jamie, Joseph, Luke/Lucas

I’m 35 btw!

Mrsi2020 · 30/09/2020 22:12

Oh crap I forgot about that! Does anyone like the name Blake? I think Lucas is a beautiful name but I swear next to James it’s the most common name (which I always say is because they’re so lovely!) I think Luke is just as nice but a little bit different xx

Busybee143 · 30/09/2020 22:18

I love Luca!

LittleRa · 30/09/2020 22:24

@Mrsi2020 @Busybee143 I agree I like all Lucas Luke and Luca... I think I maybe Luke grows better into an adult name?
I’m avoiding names that end in -a or -er as DP’s surname ends in -er so it doesn’t quite flow.
I’m thinking of having my maiden name as a middle name, as my current surname is my married name to exDH, which is also DD’s surname. So my maiden name isn’t in anywhere else.

blodyn91 · 30/09/2020 22:27

I know two toddlers called Lucas... popping up everywhere atm!
Anybody else worried one of your friends will use your name between now and your due date 😆 OH mate is due anyday and we are like please don't use this or this.

LittleRa · 30/09/2020 22:34

What do people think about choosing a name because you like the nickname, would you use the full name or just the nickname? Eg I like Jamie and Joe/Joey. I’d put James or Joseph on birth certificate and use the nicknames in everyday life. DO says well if you like Joe just put Joe on birth certificate!

Also I’m a teacher so there’s soooo many names I associate with particular children (both good and bad reasons!) so would be hard to use!

LittleRa · 30/09/2020 22:38

Should be DP not DO in the above message!

Bl0ndi3 · 30/09/2020 22:46

@LittleRa I think I'd always have the longer name and just shorten it day to day.

Like if we choose it, Frederick but will be known as Fred, Freddie but could also be Rick (not by me tho haha!!) etc

Tobias and be known as Toby etc

I like the name max but it would be maxwell or another variation but OH not a fan says there's too many!

I think it's nice to have the "official" name personally 😍

@blodyn91 omg yeah!! And so many people I know are pregnant urgh! To be fair though as long as it's not somebody in my immediate circle then I'm not bothered too much if they have my name because I'll still go with mine anyway!

Mrsi2020 · 01/10/2020 04:14

Depends on the name for me, my brother is called Jamie and that’s his actual name I don’t think it needs a fuller name.

I love joey but I think Joseph is terrible .

But then I think maxwell is lovely, Frederick I think isn’t nice, i think if they’re going to be called the nn from day one then why not.

For me we’re toying with immi and indie , if she is immi she’ll be called Imogen. Indie would be a standalone name I think.

Do you know what tho? Its such a personal decision, everyone hated dds name and I didn’t care . I still love it and so does everyone else, and so does she because no one else has it! Kids grow into the names we give them I think.

I love beau for a boy too xxx

Dipsy77 · 01/10/2020 05:53

Morning ladies,

Well I wish I was still in my 30's I'm 43 which makes me feel really old now !. I have started again though, I had my first 2 when I was 20 and 22 then I had dd last year at 42. I haven't really thought of names yet, I'm waiting till the 20 week scan before I start thinking. DD is called Ruby which wasn't really in our list last time although we'd mentioned we liked it and the minute we saw her we both said ruby so was meant to be x

zippityzip · 01/10/2020 06:44

Neither of my girls had names for a week after we brought them home.

This baby I've suggested a few and my DH says no to absolutely everything. But then doesn't offer anything that he likes so we are back to absolutely no names whatsoever. And this baby will be born without a name too.

I hate picking names because I work with kids - I currently have 57 children on my case load and that's a lot of names to veto!!!!
