@Ltay2 lovely news and you’re right epu is horrible! I much prefer the private scans! I’m going to have another at 11 weeks so oh can go as he won’t be allowed to my 12 week one!

Early scan today went well and we had a heartbeat 💓 xxx

@Mrsi2020 Aww lovely scan! Yeah OH wasn't allowed with me at EPU and won't be allowed at the dating scan next week either. At the moment as things are he is allowed to 20wk scan so hopefully won't need another private one but definitely will book one if things change!

So OH friend just told him you have to pay to find out if you are having a boy or a girl? 😧 Is that true?

@blodyn91 not unless you pay for a private scan earlier as I'm sure it will just form part of the 20 week scan and I'd be so surprised if any trust made you pay! Xx

My local hosp dont tell the gender! Altho I think a gender scan is only about £60 at the private clinic and tbh it’s a much nicer experience! Think we’ll keep it a surprise! 🥰

Regardless I'll be having a private scan at about 16 weeks so I know the sex just before Christmas

I had a great first scan at 12 weeks, I was the first in post lunch brake so was straight in, and OH allowed in, so don't want to pay £60 😆 I'll just have to wait and see then. Everything is different everywhere!

I thought that finding out the sex at 20 weeks was standard but there was a sign up at my hospital that said "We MAY verbally confirm gender if confident with the results but it is not expected and do not ask us to write it down".
I bet someone has complained about them getting it wrong.
I'm not finding out anyway but if I was I would defo be paying for a private one.

My friend gave me a home Doppler yesterday and I got to hear a little train heartbeat - very sweet
Only told a couple of people, children still don’t know and we will wait

What are people’s thoughts about names ? I understand if you don’t want to share but just wondered what people where thinking x

@blodyn91 amazing scan you'll see such a big difference between now and your 20wk scan aswell which will be lovely 🥰 also yes it's worth checking with hospital some have a strict 'don't ask about gender' policy, definitely because people have sued NHS after being told the wrong gender, but considering OH was allowed in with you and you got a few pics printed aswell I reckon your hospital is nice...also I'm guessing girly for you xx

@zippityzip loved reading that message yesterday... 1year from now I'm hoping to be enjoying spending time with my bestie and her little boy on her last month of Mat leave. OH will have got a promotion and I will have found the perfect replacement career where I only have to work Tuesdays and Wednesdays but get paid a full salary 🤪 and hopefully back into the gym and playing netball a couple times a week 👌🏾

@Mustbemad82 Me and DP have agreed I'd pick first and middle name if he gets surname so I'm pretty set on what his name is but won't be saying it out loud/ writing it down until I tell DP next year 🤪

My 32nd birthday yesterday and feeling overwhelmingly emotional about life, how long I can I blame hormones!? 🤔 planning on telling my family on Friday which is also making me super anxious

Don't worry last year was my 30th and I literally had a crisis. Full on breakdown. And I wasn't even hormonal.

I'm 31 soon and it makes me emotional as I'm a GROWN UP. I just don't let myself think about it 😂

@Mustbemad82 we've started thinking names and have a bit of a shortlist but it changes all the time

Girl: Poppy, Phoebe, Hallie, Nora and lily
Boy: Frederick

We struggle to agree on boys names clearly and that's the only one we both really like atm we both have lots of names we like that the other doesn't

Hi girls - I'm back! Had another scan this morning at 6w4d after the one last week for bleeding/cramping etc. Got to see a little healthy embryo and heartbeat. Could tell I was anxious but said that at the moment things were 10/10 so just need to try and relax.

I was so sorry to come back and read sad news on here - there is nothing I can say to make it better but hope you get the space/time you need @Sausage1990 to heal.

It was also my birthday yesterday @SmileyT but don't worry about feeling old - I turned 34!!

Ladies scan went brilliantly so I can relax now ❤

Around 7 weeks and wee heart beating away nicely. Only 1 baby 🤣🤣 (not googling about hidden twins 🤣🤣)

@SmileyT Happy Birthday!!! Im 30 next year and it does scare me, remember when I thought id be married and have two kids by 30 🤔🙄 Yep I definitely think I have a good hospital, they gave me 9 photos of the scan for free and they are really clear. The maternity unit is new so I think the ultrasound machine is new.

@mustbemad82 yes we have a few names. Aeron for boy, Seren for girl so far. Welsh names as it will take OH surname ☺️

Well I had someone smash into the back of me today as I slowed for an oncoming ambulance 😩 Everyone ok, the lad that hit me was shocked bless him, so just had to tell him its ok. Luckily my car is a company car so easy to sort out, but all my back sensors have been smashed 😬 his car was a lot worse off. Just got home so treated myself to a bowl of cereal 😋

@Catherinettc @Sophi123 congratulations on the scans ladies, I'm so nervous for mine tomorrow I'm feeling quite optimistic but I'm scared and trying to keep grounded in case it's bad news!
@blodyn91 I'm 30 next year too, there seems to be a few of us around that age. I've totally heard 30 is the new 20 😂

I'm so gutted I'm in my 30s 😭 well, almost 31.

My eldest is almost 10 and even though I KNOW I'm not an older mum, not even by a stretch. I really feel like it now!

I was genuinely thinking today I wonder if I can squeeze another baby in before I'm 35 😂
Fucking mental. This is the woman who never wanted kids.

I had to reread my post as was wondering whether I'd said I was worried about being old, which I wasn't until you all mentioned it 😂 was just emotional because my mum didn't ring me which most years wouldn't bother me because she is a bit strange and doesn't really do things the way 'normal' mums do but it really affected me yesterday. Then today when I got to work they had a surprise call where they announced they are making mass redundancies, they are hoping it will all be voluntary but we'll see. So ready for some time off now 😴

@SmileyT how many weeks are you now? Can’t believe you’re gonna hold on to the name for so long ! 😱 I couldn’t haha! I have to set the name quite early. I did with my girls and trying to pick a name that doesn’t clash with the other three is hard haha xx
