@zippityzip the short maternity leave will all depend on what my boss says about working from home, potentially part time for a few months. Basically with my job I have my own farmers I look after, summer isn't that important but winter is as that when you formulate all the diets, and I don't want to loose farmers. Im also 30% technical, and if I have a colleague call me about an issue on farm, I should be able to answer that pretty easy, even with a newborn crying in my arms 😆 the only difficult part will be going on farm, but hoping MIL would help for a few hours if I need to do that. (I basically don't trust anybody else to look after them for me 😆😆)

zippityzip · 24/09/2020 16:28

GP confirmed a UTI in my urine so picking up antibiotics now.
I'm at the point where my clothes are hurting my skin. I'm so tired and I feel like utter shite. DH does not want to push my buttons tonight.

blodyn91 · 24/09/2020 17:25

@zippityzip rest up tonight!! and from what others are saying get into maternity clothes!

@SmileyT are you showing at all yet? My belly is still flat as a pancake 🙈 Wondering when will I ever look pregnant!

Busybee143 · 24/09/2020 18:44

@zippityzip get some rest lovely, hope you feel better soon

SmileyT · 24/09/2020 18:50

@Busybee143 thanks for that info I'll just get booked in with dentist and hope for the best 👌🏾

@Catherinettc ahh I feel for you, have you tried getting out for some air, I always found being in the house all day made the nausea much worse 🤢

@Bl0ndi3 sounds like you are super sensible and uncertainty in pregnancy isn't ideal but as you've said you'll be okay financially and if you got yourself a good job I'm sure you'll find another fab one if it comes to that xx

@mrsmummy1111 ahh waiting on test results is never easy and this must be even tougher as so much depends on it. I've got so much faith that it will all work out and this will be such a small part of an overall positive pregnancy experience for you. As others have said there is no judgement here your body, your choice ❤️

@Ltay2 it's my birthday next week, not as young as you but I'm doing a spa day with friends, hopefully get a lovely massage 💆‍♀️ and I've told my family and OH not to get me anything but I've got some seraphine jeans which are really comfy and my friend gave me a nice mix of maternity clothes from h&m, topshop and new look which look decent👌🏾

@zippityzip hope its a nice chilled one at home and you feel better soon x

@blodyn91 I'm 15w3 now and I'm sure people that don't know wouldn't have a clue in normal clothes but took a pic in the gym yesterday and definitely a belly emerging 🤪 I think they say for a first it's normally around 20weeks that you actually get a bump (as with everything, everyone is different) x

OP posts:
zippityzip · 24/09/2020 19:36

@SmileyT dammit woman I'm in bed looking like an over cooked potato and you're all hot in the gym!!

I'll get a bump pic tomorrow as I'm comparison I am huge 😂

But honestly you're looking fab.

Bl0ndi3 · 24/09/2020 21:11

I forget who said about the Lidl maternity leggings.... but I've just bought some earlier tonight 😂 I was on my way back from swimming and had to stop by Lidl. They had like 2 in size medium so figured for that price it's worth buying and saving them for next year when I actually need them 😂

@SmileyT cute little baby bump forming there 🔥

@zippityzip oh dear hopefully it's just a one off, rest up! Haha oh poor DH for some reason I can't imagine he would wanna get on the wrong side of you so good luck to him 😂😂😂 but in all seriousness rest up ❤️

@Ltay2 I love browsing maternity clothes! Ebays good for them though and probably where I'll get most of mine but would love a few staples from ASOS or elsewhere and I hear the seraphine leggings and love leggings are good so I want them! X

Cocoblue22 · 24/09/2020 21:33

Sorry ladies now I'm catching up from Monday onwards 👀.....

@mrsmummy1111 I'm so sorry that you have to wait two weeks for your results 🤞🏻 that everything is fine thinking of you x

@SmileyT yay to a boy 💙🎉 woohoo so pleased for you! I thought you were having a boy all along! Now let the shopping commence! Beautiful scan pic 💙 x

@zippityzip congratulations on scan what a cute baby ❤️ x

@Bl0ndi3 woohoo to 3+ 🎉❤️ now look forward to your booking appointment and scan x

@LittleRa glad you heard heartbeat oooh could be a girl if it's above 140! Exciting! My 16 week appointment was today but on the phone so didn't get that experience ☹️ x

@SmileyT it's interesting you heard heartbeat at 12 week scan when I asked they said they don't do that at 12 weeks! 🤷🏼‍♀️ x

Madz123 · 24/09/2020 22:05

@mrsmummy1111 I've been debating with myself whether to say this as it is totally a different situation and I also don't want to sound like I'm going on about myself. But maybe it'll make you feel less alone. So basically my genetics mean that everytime I have a child it has about a 1 in 7 chance of having downs syndrome (this is rare as it's unusual for DS to be hereditary) I've had over a decade to come to terms with this so I am absolutely fine with the idea of having a child with additional needs however I still find waiting for my 12 week scan to find out if it looks like the baby has DS very hard! Sorry for the long post!

Catherinettc · 24/09/2020 22:13

Awk @SmileyT now I feel even more of a mess! 🤣🤣 not been as bad today. Kinda coming in waves more than constant. Face full of spots like a teenager now as well lol safe to say I do NOT glow in pregnancy 🤣🤣 but thinking u defo do!

Feel like the next few days will drag now cos my scan is coming up on Wednesday so prepare yourself for the moaning ladies 🤣🤣 xx

Mococo1 · 24/09/2020 23:16

Hey ladies sorry I've been so quiet been a busy few days!

I have to say things have really changed in the second trimester so I'm over the moon- I'm more positive, less tired and nausea has calmed a lot! 😄

@zippityzip I applied for my card with my gp and went in to sign it today hopefully it comes soon as I've booked myself into the dentist for November lol! UTI sounds really uncomfortable 😣 I hope you get some relief soon xxx I did another urine sample for my asymptotic bacteria so hoping I don't have a UTI either xx

@Sophi123 glad everything is looking good for you at the moment ❤️ I can understand those seven days waiting feel like a lifetime but hopefully you will back on here telling us you saw a lil HB soon 😁 xx

@mrsmummy1111 dont apologise after all it's a lot to go through ! no one has a right to judge at all..we all have our fingers crossed it's good news for so you aren't put in the position to have to consider anything at all. I also think you need to cut yourself some slack as well and forgive yourself for feeling any type of way! it's okay to be sad or stressed or confused about it- it's a difficult situation to be in so just be kind to yourself ❤️ just know this group will be here whenever you need to talk! I'm just hoping time flies by quickly and it's good news and that a happy pregnancy feeling comes back for you soon xxx

@Bl0ndi3 so shit about this job situation and it keeping you up..it's so unfair being in limbo as it's unnecessary stress that you don't need! you really do seem to sound really positive by mapping out scenarios so I'm sure that attitude will defo help in finding a new role (if required) but really fingers crossed that's not the case 🤞🏽

@SmileyT how cute I see a little bump emerging 😍😍 ! I did laugh at the emoji you used as I imagined you pulling that exact face when you took it 😂 another five weeks and you will defo be showing a bit more but I still reckon you could cover it if you wanted as you're so toned anyway 👌🏽

Mococo1 · 24/09/2020 23:21

@Catherinettc glad your nausea has calmed! I looked like a teenager with spots the other week so hopefully it calms for you soon- did you have them with the other pregnancies?

@Cocoblue22 can't believe that some trusts are doing F2F and others pho be surely the rules should be the same everywhere- could always get a Doppler 😁 i didn't hear HB at 12weeks either xx

Catherinettc · 24/09/2020 23:26

@Mococo1 nope never with other pregnancies or even really as a teenager 🤣🤣 fingers crossed it all calms down asap xx

zippityzip · 25/09/2020 06:17

And this is the 13+2 bump 🤦🏼‍♀️

zippityzip · 25/09/2020 06:18

Helps if I attach the picture doesn't it....

FairyLights2 · 25/09/2020 06:33

@zippityzip ah that really sucks! Wishing you a speedy recovery ❤️ and your bump is tooooo cute x

@SmileyT wow! Pregnant? You look like you're ready to run a fitness class! Love it haha.

@Cocoblue22 what usually happens at the 16 week appointment? Is it similar to the booking appointment?

Mococo1 · 25/09/2020 12:03

@zippityzip what a cute bump!! Those maternity jeans look well comfy lol 😂

Sausage1990 · 25/09/2020 12:20

@zippityzip that's a fab bump... your body clearly remembers what to do haha.
Love your little bump too @SmileyT.

Question - when are people looking at new bras? Mine is okay for a little while longer but it's getting really tight and I don't know when I should get a new one. I don't want to get one too early but also I want to he comfortable.

@blodyn91 how are you feeling with your scan just a few days away? I'm starting to feel quite nervous. I'm excited but also nervous. It's your 1st scan isn't it? X

blodyn91 · 25/09/2020 13:19

@Sausage1990 Im shitting myself 🤣🤣 had to leave my phone upstairs yesterday as I was wfh and started googling crap. So been out on farm today to keep myself distracted!
I do need to call my boss though, not sure how to word myself, think ot will be a shock. Basically have a team meeting Monday pm and going over some important stuff, so need to call him today to say I can't make it.... how did you all tell your bosses? anybody else done it over the phone? (in person is just not an option as he lives hours away)

Sausage1990 · 25/09/2020 13:35

@blodyn91 I'm glad I'm not alone in bricking it. I know I've seen a heartbeat before but you just don't know how things are going in there and its so so so scary.
I havnt told work yet, I'm waiting for my scan 1st but I'll be telling them in person as I have a meeting my with boss & line manager on Wednesday... So I'm going to tell them then. I have no idea how. Its a job planning meeting so think I'll just have to say that before we get into it that I have some news that will maybe change the plans slightly and then just show them the scan. Or whatever garbled version of that I can muster in my nervous state.
When it comes to the phone call I think it's probably just about saying you want to update him on some things and the biggest things is that you're pregnant. Although it's much easier in theory than in practice... I'm sure others will have better advice on telling their boss than me haha.

blodyn91 · 25/09/2020 14:59

@Sausage1990 I think its been such a crap year sometimes its easy to be more of a pessimist these days, 🤞 we both have healthy big strawberries
So just called my boss, started the convo by talking about the weather as you do, then just went 'Im really nervous to tell you but I have a scan on Monday, Im pregnant' and he just said o waw congrats and was really nice. Going to have a face to face meeting Thursday to go over health and safety and mat pay etc, such a relief after telling him. He said to never be scared to talk to him about anything.

Sausage1990 · 25/09/2020 15:17

Awww @blodyn91 I'm so pleased for you. It's such a nervy conversation so it's great you've had a positive response to your lovely news 😊 and yes you're right, we will both have healthy babas cooking away and come Monday we will both be able to take a deep breath 💕

Cocoblue22 · 25/09/2020 16:12

@zippityzip lovely bump! I'm showing like you too x

@FairyLights2 they just discuss your test results bloods and screening and then ask if you have any questions. They usually then listen with a Doppler so it's a shame to miss that if it's over the phone x

@Sausage1990 I switched to my maternity non wired bras around 8/9 weeks when I switched to maternity clothes x

@blodyn91 I felt nervous telling my boss but no idea why because I knew she would be thrilled for me! I also felt nervous telling our parents again no idea why since we already have DS 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm glad your boss was lovely most are really understanding and have kids themselves x

LittleRa · 25/09/2020 17:27

16+4 bump here!

Hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to the weekend Smile

Girls really sorry for my late reply. I took a day off socials yesterday just to give myself a breather and try to enjoy the day with my little boy.

I've come back on tonight and honestly, feel so overwhelmed with how kind and understanding all your replies have been. I'm a stranger to you, you don't know me from Adam, but you don't know how much better you've made me feel. Truthfully, it feels like a huge relief to feel completely and utterly not judged, regardless of what our decision may be, it's nice to know people out there don't think we're the worst humans on earth. I don't even know what our results will be, but I'm carrying around such huge guilt for even considering different options, but reading all your replies has actually made me realise that I'm not evil. And I'm allowed to feel the way I feel. So I've decided to let myself be sad, and angry, and it's ok to feel like that because you girls said so!

So thank you, truly thank you. Of course, as soon as we hear anything we'll let you know.

@Madz123 I'm so glad you shared, this is a totally open dialogue and just because I only just found out doesn't mean I should monopolise the situation. I'm thrilled (and in truth, envious) that you've managed to stay so positive and open minded! I guess like you say, you've had a long time to get to terms with it so the shock factor is probably long since passed and you can actually just enjoy your pregnancy knowing that whatever will be will be, and you've had lots of time to prepare for it. Wishing you the best of luck for a healthy happy pregnancy and baby 💕
