I kinda like that this thread is smaller, I feel there's less talking over each other and room for quieter members to join in. I'm not ready for Facebook yet.

holb54 · 18/09/2020 22:00

Seen on facebook that Dunnes are having a bit of a sale on some baby/pregnancy items so just throwing this in here for anyone in Ireland or NI 💜

@Sussexbysea pelvic floor exercises 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 NHS squeezy app to remind you, and certainly ask midwife for advice on doing them correctly (or even better ask to see a women's health physio). I suffered terribly after DC1, saw WH physio privatley eventually which helped a lot (physically and mentally!), then after DC2 I asked at my 8 week check to be referred to physio as I knew there would be a wait. 4 months I waited for an appointment thus glad I had asked early on!
In France every woman has an appointment to see a WH physio after giving birth (apparently!). Midwives I've had barely even mention pelvic floor, prolapse, wetting yourself etc. 😢

ValidUser · 18/09/2020 22:43

@holb54 thanks for the tip. I've a Dunnes near me!

First timer question: If I want to buy a few baby clothes for the hospital bag, do I get 0-3 month stuff or newborn/0-1 month stuff?

JTB123 · 18/09/2020 22:48

Finally the weekend is here and my scan is on Tuesday at 4pm! - I must nearly be the last one?! 😳🤣

LittleBrownBaby · 18/09/2020 22:52

I'm Wednesday morning @JTB123! Good luck for yours!

GreysLove · 18/09/2020 23:01

@JTB123 I think us two and two others are all Tuesday. Mines is at 2pm and I'll be 12+4 lots of scan spam to come next week.

Then I'd be happy to join a Facebook group at the start of October, and agree something small with just this thread would be good. Can't wait to put some faces to names, everyone has been a great support through these trying early weeks.

TheFoz · 18/09/2020 23:27

Thanks for the well wishes ladies. Hopefully I’ll get the results tomorrow and I can go to the confirmation even though I feel as dull as dishwater!
Good luck to the ladies with the scans next week, looking forward to seeing the updates.
I’m also keen to have a Facebook page with the users of this thread. I don’t like the idea of joining an already established page.

Wren1986 · 18/09/2020 23:47

Also like the idea of a small FB group Smile We're still waiting on our NIPT results though (9 days and counting...) so need to wait until we get those, we still haven't told family yet.

ElsiesJourney · 19/09/2020 00:07

Defo up for a smaller Facebook group. This thread has been a great source of support, reassurance and just chat!

BatKat · 19/09/2020 07:36

My scan’s next week too, on Monday. If everything’s OK at the scan and with the screening results then I would love to join a Facebook group x

Sparkle801 · 19/09/2020 07:41

Hi everyone! I’m due 9th of March and I find out what I’m having today!! Would anyone like to take a guess? I’ll update you all laterGrin

I’ve got my first consultant appointment on Tuesday. I’ve been referred to the consultant because my last baby was born early (an amazing 4 year old now). Midwife said I’m high risk for another premature birth and I’m worried about this one being even early. This pregnancy feels very different though so baby might be very different and be overdue!

CazWte · 19/09/2020 07:59

@Sparkle801 I think out today too!! So exciting!! 😃❤️😃

CazWte · 19/09/2020 07:59

Find not think!! Baby brain!! X

Sparkle801 · 19/09/2020 08:14

@CazWte aww really how exciting😍 I can’t wait x

MrsAndMrs · 19/09/2020 08:27

@Sparkle801 how exciting! I'm gonna guess a boy! 💙

I've been a little quiet cause headaches have been kicking my ass over the past day or 2. But happy for a smaller Facebook group too, I don't want to get lost in a massive group 🙈

Ringo91 · 19/09/2020 09:19

Hey everyone I've been following along silently for the last few weeks and thought I would finally say hello. I'm due March 28th and have a 16 month old little girl already 🥰

LottieDot · 19/09/2020 09:37

@Sussexbysea I don't have any details of the screening midwife, I have a consultant appointment on Monday so hoping they can tell me if I havent heard by then.

@Usplusone I really hope its good news for you, sorry yourr going through this x

@aureliacecilia I had the same thing with the phone call a few days ago but mine was the screening place, but telling me about my low PAPP-A. My heart nearly stopped it was so scary. I know my results are 'low risk' but I'm worried because of my low PAPP-A theyre just sneaking in to the low risk category, which I know makes me sound a bit crazy!

@Sparkle801 I'm guessing boy 💙

KatyCherry23 · 19/09/2020 10:05

@ValidUser for my first we only bought 0-3 and 3-6 months but he was tiny and everything was massive on him so had to go out and buy first size. My sisters baby on the other hand was in 3-6 pretty much within the first few weeks so it's really hard to judge. I think it's best to get 0-3 and you can send someone out to get newborn if you need it otherwise it's a bit of a waste.

Manrita · 19/09/2020 10:07

@DSP21

For those whose cup sizes have gone up, have you invested in new bras, maternity bras, anything in specific? I think I've outgrown mine and not sure if I should just go straight to maternity or if they still will have growing to do
I asked at M&S and they said just buy a standard non wired bra one size up
aureliacecilia · 19/09/2020 10:16

@Tomatoandbasil I also have an amazing four year old who was born early! He was born at 35 weeks. When was he or she born? I'm speaking to the consultant in a few weeks. As my son was late as premature births I'm not sure how much involcement to expect. I think I will get some extra scans from 28 weeks though.

Symphony87 · 19/09/2020 10:19

I feel like I might be in the minority here but I’m really struggling at the moment to feel attached to this pregnancy

I mentioned earlier in this thread about how I was diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy and rushed into surgery to have it removed only to be told the next day that they had misread the scans and everything was okay but I think it got lost in the chat that was going on at the time.

Obviously I’m delighted I’m still pregnant and will be 14 weeks tomorrow but I can’t get excited. This baby was planned and very much wanted but because of my experience a month ago I can’t relax and enjoy the experience. I was terrified at every scan since that there will be bad news. My hope is when I can feel movement it might help get rid of the fear and help me relax more, right now I feel like I’m just waiting for something bad to happen even though everything has been fine apart from that one incident.

Tomatoandbasil · 19/09/2020 10:23

@aureliacecilia she was born at 34 weeks so very similar to your son.

ButtonsMama19 · 19/09/2020 10:33

Hi all
Sorry I'm not v active, I do read everything posted but then ru. Out of time to post!! We had our nipt results and it's a healthy baby boy 💙.
I'd really like to be included in both Facebook groups if possible? Sometimes a bigger one is good to get an overall consensus of whats going on, but smaller ones better for more personal advice I found with DS and the groups I was involved in.
Would someone mind send g me a link or invite to the already active one, and include me in the one to be set up?
I'm much more active on Facebook as on there anyway day to day, and my phone isn't very mums net friendly lol xx
Thank you all xxx
