@MrsSmith2020 I also throw mine out of bed in a rage haha! Enjoy your pregnancy massage and please report back if it helps!

@Babyhope98 that's how I describe it too, agony!! I will have to try going onto my right side for a short while for the pain to go then shuffle onto my right I think.

@MummyShark97 thank you, that's really useful. I wish midwives would all tell us the same thing as the NHS though as some are adamant it's left and some say just sleep on your back, no problem!

@nearlyamummyof2boys the inconsistency of care infuriates me as we should all be experiencing the same duty of care that we all deserve, virus or no virus! I would say we should even be MORE reassured as we have anxieties about covid etc too. But you're totally right, what we get at the end of this all is a beautiful bundle so we definitely have that to look forward to and get us through 🥰

nearlyamummyof2boys · 11/09/2020 09:25

@danielasummer I totally agree! There should be a higher level of care during these times! And there should definitely be a level of care the same across the board. I don't feel like Covid anxieties have been addressed at all?
I also find it crazy that - I think - al of us have received bad care so that means probably all pregnant women out there have! Which is just so sad and awful and needs to be addressed!
Sending love ❤️

@nearlyamummyof2boys you've said exactly how I feel, I couldn't put it into words this morning.

I feel sad for all the mums to be going through such a dip in what is otherwise one of the NHS' most Incredible services.

My sisters tell me they had the most amazing midwife led care in 2017& 2019

I'm just not seeing it myself.
I get passed from one team to the next and have no idea who "my midwife" even is or what she looks like'

Jellycat2020 · 11/09/2020 09:47

So I ended up back in hospital last night with more spotting 😣 Thankfully all OK with baby and cervix, no signs of prem-labour. But yet another 'raging' UTI. The midwife described the dipstick as 'lit up like Blackpool illuminations' 😂 She and the doctor were lovely and I wanted to kiss her when she said I can absolutely use heat packs and hot water bottles for my back. I'm glad these nice ones are the ones that will be there when baby does come, not the community one.

nearlyamummyof2boys · 11/09/2020 09:58

You poor thing @Jellycat2020 so glad all is ok! And you received some nice care! ❤️❤️

Bluebell2020 · 11/09/2020 10:01

I'm so sorry so many of you have had such rubbish experience with your care.

I'm feeling extremely lucky as I think my care has been significantly better than everyone else's experiences. Every one of my appointments have been face to face and they always seem to take their time and really care. I've also had the same midwife for all of them which has been really good. At my last one there was concerns with baby's growth and the midwife made sure I got a growth scan on the same day literally 2 hours after my midwife appointment. Going to the growth scan without my husband was terrifying and horrible but even the 2 midwife there was so lovely and looked after me through the scan and for the 40 minutes on a foetal monitor.

It should be like this everywhere though and it's so unfair that the care is so inconsistent!!!

excitednerves · 11/09/2020 10:05

Totally agree with what everyone has said above. My consultant yesterday was amazing and SUCH a relief to see someone who gets it. I’d say 90%+ of the people I’ve come across are amazing, but the 10% are so awful they really stick in your mind and they’re the ones who cause undue worry and anxiety.

After I had my first baby the midwives and nurses in postnatal were incredible, two in particular were above and beyond, but one was only interested in “getting the bed back” and I’ll never ever forget her for her lack of empathy in trying to kick me out and leave my precious first baby alone in NICU. It’s always the bad ones who stand out most isn’t it?

Babyhope98 · 11/09/2020 14:25

Babies been a lot more active recently but seems a bit quiet today but have still felt her I’m 29 weeks tomorrow. Anyone else had the same? Going to keep an eye hopefully she’s starts bouncing around by the evening I am working today so may be why.. My pattern is feeling her every few hours really but her kicks are just lighter today 🤔

danielasummer · 11/09/2020 15:33

@Babyhope98 I'm 27+2 and I sometimes have this, some days baby's kicks are huge and you can see them on my tummy, other days they are more subtle and kick me in what seems like my back and I have to really concentrate to feel them. Usually the next day he/she is back to their powerful kicking. I would contact your midwife though if you're concerned as you don't want to rely on anecdotal advice from us on MN x

Jwl45 · 11/09/2020 15:33

@Babyhope98
Yes don't worry I have the same..since I've been home in lockdown, I've seen a definite pattern. However, due to working... Or now doing the school run, my own daily pattern has changed slightly. At times before when I felt baby, she's sometimes quieter now at that particular moment. Sometimes no kicks as such but the wiggling and poking feeling.... Today, real Wiggles very low down as opposed to high kicks I sometimes get. I'm 31weeks today.

peachypetite · 11/09/2020 16:12

My bum has suddenly got huge Shock

Babyhope98 · 11/09/2020 16:15

I can feel her a bit more now think she was having a lazy morning 😅 that sounds similar to me @Jwl45 with the wiggling down below only sometimes. Pattern changes when I’m busy I think she’s probably being rocked asleep x

PipTed · 11/09/2020 16:16

@peachypetite same, next size up knickers are now tight. And I burst a zip on some dungarees the other day. 😫

peachypetite · 11/09/2020 16:18

I am looking forward to having my body back and not being pregnant. I feel like I don’t know what to wear and I’ve ordered so much maternity stuff and sent it back I am just living in leggings and wrap tops.

Babyhope98 · 11/09/2020 16:28

Please tell me I’m not the only one who has got stretch marks they’re coming thick and fast 😅

Amyyy1 · 11/09/2020 16:34

@Babyhope98 I've got them appearing all on my bum and thighs!! I've never had any before so really thought I would not get any being pregnant, it doesn't matter what oil or cream I use as more appear every day😅

My bump is absolutely huge and people keep laughing asking if I am expecting twins but not a single stretch mark there yet (have I just cursed that??) which is odd!

Kj1010 · 11/09/2020 17:08

@nearlyamummyof2boys yeah I was induced with my daughter and they are intense honestly cant remember if worse or same tbh though sorry not much help ut gotta say was only in labour for one hour from induction to birth so was pretty quick

PipTed · 11/09/2020 17:20

I feel like a frump, all I ever wear is dresses (if you can call them that) - bum’s too big to even entertain maternity jeans.

peachypetite · 11/09/2020 17:23

I lived in dresses all summer but now it’s cold I’ve turned to leggings. I can’t believe the size of my breasts either. They were already an E/F cup before pregnancy and they are huge. I also feel frumpy!

confused107 · 11/09/2020 18:28

Sorry I've been quiet. I've been away (boat on the Norfolk Broads) sorry to read of the tough weeks some of you are having, especially in regards to medical support. It seems so inconsistent

I'm 28 weeks and I've noticed that when I walk around (especially for a reasonable distance or on an uneven surface) my bump aches a bit. Has anyone tried a bump support? Just wondering if anyone had any experiences or recommendations?

Jwl45 · 11/09/2020 20:28

@confused107
I haven't personally, but my friend told me that she had one in the third trimester.... And highly recommends it if bump is heavy!

Babyhope98 · 11/09/2020 23:26

Mine are just on my belly at the moment. I got them during puberty so didn’t hold out much hope but they have come earlier than my sisters so I’m scared at how bad they will get. Oh well she’s worth it 😅 @Amyyy1

Amyyy1 · 12/09/2020 08:27

I had what I think was lightening crotch for the majority of last night it was horrible😓 I've had it a couple of times randomly and it only lasted a few seconds before but never like this. Has anyone else and what do you do to help it??

Awkes · 12/09/2020 10:33

Anyone here know what the hell is going on with working/covid guidance? I work in a daycare setting for adults with learning difficulties and apart from moving me to a more relaxed group nothing has changed for me. We wear masks/visors except during lunch (where we are still sat with service users) and temps are done at the door but by a blatantly inaccurate thermometer 🙄
I’m getting told by people I work with and by a couple of midwives that I shouldn’t be there, they should find office work etc but managers just say there’s none for me and therefore only option is to carry on or go off unpaid. Basically no choice at all. The gov guidance seems mixed and not at all clear or specific to my circumstance.
Anyone in a similar situation?

BG1234 · 12/09/2020 10:37

@confused107 I’ve bought this:
BABYGO 4 in 1 Pregnancy Support Belt Maternity & Postpartum Band - Relieve Back, Pelvic, Hip Pain, SPD & PGP >> inc 40 Page Pregnancy Book for Birth Preparation, Labour & Recovery www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07V6YQ9M7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_PxjxFbKP4SBF3?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

Only had it a day but like it already and wish I’d got it sooner- it’s got three parts so you can add to it to make it sturdier and wear it throughout every trimester. You can also wear it post-partum. I got it for back support but it’s also for general bump support, round ligament pain, spd, etc.
