Hi Ladies, just setting up a new thread as we're almost at the end of the current one. Let's move over when it's full.

@SunnySideUp2020 the worst thing is that my DH is a paramedic and is generally fantastic at keeping all precautions when out and about and even with other people but it's like he's blind when it comes to his family..all that goes out the window then..so frustrating!! Thank god we live in my family's home town and not his!!
I've no kids yet but I'd say the 1 bed depends on how much space you are used to having yourself too..as long as there's good storage I'd say it's doable. I've gone from sharing a tiny room in university in my twenties to now living in 3 bed house with lots of space and only 2 of us..I think to go back to having less space now would kill me but at the time I really wasn't bothered by it as I wasn't used to it.

ChampooPapi · 14/09/2020 19:01

@SunnySideUp2020 I've seen your thread, as there's a communal garden area and it's a spacious flat it will absolutely fine. And I say this as someone who has lived in 8 different houses/flats over the last ten years, always with at least one child/baby in tow. So I know what I'm talking about here. It's dependent on a few things to make it easier and you've ticked all those boxes with the type of flat it is, storage, buggy being able to be left downstairs, separate utility, communal garden ect. Your flat will be bigger then some 2 bed terraces, that is for certain. You can always move the cot into the living room once your baby is six months old just for the night times as well. And have a sofa bed situation and your golden 🙏

MilsCookie · 14/09/2020 20:51

@ChampooPapi eeeeeeek I know. What time is yours? Mine's at 9am, although they are NEVER on time. Literally last week I had the first appointment time of 8:45 and I got seen at 9:30. It doesn't make any sense to me?!?!

I would say you'll be absolutely fine @SunnySideUp2020. All I keep thinking about when I'm worried about what these babies are going to, e.g. what sleeping arrangements, which steriliser etc... I just think back to what I saw when I was travelling and women and babies basically living in mud huts with absolutely nothing. All babies need is love, food and warmth and someone to care for them. Your baby will have all of those in bucket loads, especially the first one ❤️

FireflyGirl · 14/09/2020 21:20

@SunnySideUp2020 if the flat is spacious apart from only having one bedroom it shouldn't be an issue. It's recommended baby be in with you for at least 6 months anyway, and you could make it work for a couple of years at a push as long as you had a separate space for you and DH to hide after they go to bed.

Unless you get a shuffly/snuffly/noisy sleeper...

Good luck with your scans tomorrow @ChampooPapi and @MilsCookie

ChampooPapi · 14/09/2020 22:21

@FireflyGirl thanks lovely, will update when I do the list in the evening. The scan is 2-30 so it's going to be one of those very long days, so taking my partner in with me though, we are just walking in together to be frank! Obviously he'd leave if they actually asked him seriously to go, but otherwise he's coming in 💪

ChampooPapi · 14/09/2020 22:23

Also I'm going to lie and say it said on my letter it said he could attend 🤷‍♀️

They'll be birthing partner's there anyway accompanying other pregnant women for their 20 week scans, and this one is a medical situation so I'm taking him!

ChampooPapi · 14/09/2020 22:29

Not that all scans army a medical situation 🤦, sorry ladies my brain is mush, but you know what I mean . All my others are 'routine' so a ok to go it alone, but this one is to get answers to a worrying thing and the news though in all probability will be good, could be not so good or result on further decisions that I just want him there for

ChampooPapi · 14/09/2020 22:30

*are not

SunnySideUp2020 · 15/09/2020 02:19

Will be thinking of you today @ChampooPapi and @MilsCookie x

@champoo i read the article you shared and I hadn't realised before how ridiculous the situation was in the UK. Here, in Latvia, it's the same... no birthing partners allowed for now! NONE!!!!! (I mean don't get me started on that one) but people can gather and all. It just makes no sense!
So definitely take your husband with you for the scan 💪

Thanks for approving the one bed flat 😁
I am in my mid night two hours insomnia and now thinking it might not be good enough.
I observe DP sleeping and he is a tall big man who keeps moving all night. Not noisy but definitely shuffly... so don't know if we would need another bedroom.
Anyway we will see what the flats are like on Wednesday.

MrsB16 · 15/09/2020 03:21

I’m sorry I’ve been so quiet, particularly when you were all being so lovely to me. Given what I have been posting about the last few days, I know this is extra sensitive, especially for everyone here.

My beautiful baby girl arrived this evening at 10:16pm. She is perfection and we are so in love. I won’t post anymore to protect everyone’s feelings (as I know what it feels like) but I just wanted you very supportive ladies to know. X

SunnySideUp2020 · 15/09/2020 11:31

@Leok83 have you done the nipt? (Or harmony)? I can't remember when was it scheduled for you.
We have decided to do it after 12 week scan next Wednesday or thursday morning.

Leok83 · 15/09/2020 12:04

@SunnySideUp2020 I was booked to have it yesterday but had to cancel because of this cold 🙁. Will prob try and reschedule it for next week now. Is your scan next Wednesday?

SunnySideUp2020 · 15/09/2020 12:23

@Leok83 yes it is.
We want to make sure there is a live baby in there before paying 400 euros 😅
That's why we are waiting

SunnySideUp2020 · 15/09/2020 12:24

Are you gonna have the basic one or the *plus one with micro deletions and all that?
We have decided for basic.

MilsCookie · 15/09/2020 12:35

Another positive scan today - woohoo!! Blood flow to our smaller twin was all positive again and she's growing well! Currently weighing 1lb 3oz (16th percentile) and her sister is 1lb 8oz (67th percentile). So there is still a 21% size discordance between them but they're continuing to grow nicely on their own curves.

I also got my blood test results from last week and no signs of pre-eclampsia - woo! My iron levels are very low though/anaemic so they've started me on iron tablets from today. They think my abdominal pain is just muscular and I basically just have to grin and bear it!

Here's a pic of our smaller twin being a gymnast today (can you see her knee right by her mouth?!)

Thinking of you @ChampooPapi and hope you get positive news this afternoon 😘 xxx
