@ChilternsHan difficult to describe.... if you put a finger on your forearm and then move your finger side to side without moving it, it’s like that. Told you it’s difficult to describe 👍🏻 Or how I would imagine a goldfish swimming really quickly would feel

GreysLove · 27/08/2020 14:51

@sussexbysea I'm 8+6 today (scan was yesterday) x

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 27/08/2020 14:52

@ChilternsHan it's so difficult to describe - I usually say it feels like I have a butterfly in my tummy, the feeling is of something "fluttering". Some people say it's like tiny bubbles so what I imagine it being like then is when someone is snorkelling/diving and there is a stream of bubbles going up from their mask to the water surface....Like how those air bubbles travelling up through the water might "feel" but small and in your tummy.
I know that probably doesn't make sense, so probably not helping!

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 27/08/2020 14:58

@Thack I have had a few nights of insomnia too but luckily just sporadic!

That's a shame your work situation is upsetting you but try to remember it was the right thing in the situation and he is no longer working there.

Take care of yourself! 😊

LuHen · 27/08/2020 15:01

I had my booking in apt yesterday at 11 + 1. Is anyone planning on having a home birth? I mentioned this yesterday and she said all future apts will be in my home - wahoo!! Grin

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 27/08/2020 15:12

@LuHen we aren't - we don't feel it is an option for us as the nearest hospital we'd be sent to if there were any issues is a 3 hour drive away so we will actually go and stay with family near the hospital around my due date just to be as near as we can.
It would be lovely to not be separated from DP when you have to go to the normal ward though 💞

aureliacecilia · 27/08/2020 15:13

Best of luck with your home birth @LuHen. It appeals to me too but I don't think I'm a good candidate (previous c-section and birth history). I'm also umming and ahhing about going for an ELCS this time after my previous EMCS (it was as calm as EMCS go as it was only needed as I had gone into premature labour with a breech baby).

Charlotte2020 · 27/08/2020 16:08

@LottieX I know! I was quite surprised! I'd probably had about 1.5pints of water. Just kept drinking in the waiting room to get more in!

Sussexbysea · 27/08/2020 16:15

@GreysLove I thought you might be around that. My scan looked similar around 8 weeks too.

LuHen · 27/08/2020 16:26

@ChubbyMumFromSkye are you in Scotland? We just came back form a little camper trip and it was so so beautiful. The best place to be when you're trying to forget about the worries of early pregnancy! Yes i would defo do the same as you if I was a few hours away Smile

@aureliacecilia isn't it so great that we have the choice and options now. I was told I was a low risk candidate and so I'm keen to be at home, plus I want a guaranteed pool. I am totally cool about going to hospital if baby or me need to!

I think you've got to go with whatever feels right, and you can make an informed decision having already had one section! Which is fab. Was the baby being breech the only problem? If so, is that something that's likely to reoccur with this bab? I'm clueless about these things. Xx

ChilternsHan · 27/08/2020 16:33

I really like the idea of a home birth but my nearest hospital is 20 mins away for an ambulance. Most of my friends live in London with a hospital within a mile, so I don't know if I'm overthinking the distance and it's perfectly normal! Still a little while to think about it.

ChilternsHan · 27/08/2020 16:34

Thanks @ChubbyMumFromSkye and @Sussexbysea, I'll keep a look out for a wee fish or butterfly if all is well. Can't wait!

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 27/08/2020 16:38

@LuHen yes, I'm in the Isle of Skye, Scotland! Where are you from? Ah lovely, I hope you got good weather! We haven't had it too bad up here (compared to normal!!) and when the rest of the UK was being battered the other day I think the north of Skye was the only place that missed all the wind and rain!
Is this your first baby? X

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 27/08/2020 16:55

@ChilternsHan hope you feel it soon, try lying in bed really still and quiet at night or first thing in the morning, it's usually night I feel it but I don't feel it every day.

CazWte · 27/08/2020 17:27

Joining this new thread if that's ok, I'm a few days behind but loved the last thread (I was a reader, I only posted once or twice). Hope your all doing well xxxx

aureliacecilia · 27/08/2020 17:44

@LuHen Yes, that was the only problem. Who knows if it will occur again! Had I gone to full term he would have had five weeks to get head down so maybe if I make it that far this time baby will be the right way around!

Rainbow1808 · 27/08/2020 17:56

Hi everyone. I had my scan today, I’m due 9th MarchGrin

Congrats @Rainbow1808 💞

aureliacecilia · 27/08/2020 18:22

Congratulations @Rainbow1808

LuHen · 27/08/2020 18:42

@ChilternsHan we are about 20 mins minimum too but im super keen for a vaginal birth without intervention if poss and I think a home birth holds the greatest chance - all going well for me and baby of course! I think this hypno birth course really got me into the idea, I hadn't thought about it until then. Got loads of time to have a think havent we! Smile

@ChubbyMumFromSkye im in Newbury so miiiiles away, we did a big old road trip Grin it was so beautiful and we came back last week so v lucky to have had all that warm weather. We were on the beaches in our cozzies with our dog. We will defo be back. We hopped on and off lots of islands and skye and harris were our faves. Stunning. Yes this is our first - all new but a bit scary! Had to cancel our wedding this month and this little surprise popped up just before.

@aureliacecilia oh yes i guess that could well have changed, because I think they only turn in the last few weeks - is that right?

@Rainbow1808 ah lovely pic! Congrats! I'm not too far behind you approx 16/03 at the mo, going off an early scan at 6 weeks xx

Hey everyone! Hope you don't mind me joining, 💕I'm around 10 weeks, super nervous as I've had an ectopic previously and then I was pregnant again & In December19 at my 12 week scan it was discovered that baby had Anencephaly a severe neural tube defect not compatible with life 😢 it was horrendous going through that and so my anxiety surrounding this pregnancy is sky high. I am so worried and dreading the 12 week scan as they just never seem to go well for us so I'm super nervous about this pregnancy. 🥺

aureliacecilia · 27/08/2020 18:46

I'm not really sure @LuHen. You would think I would know more about all of this considering I've had one child already but I feel completely in the dark with a lot of it.

aureliacecilia · 27/08/2020 18:51

@HollieL567 Just read your post. Please be kind to yourself - it is no wonder you are finding things tough right now. I am incredibly sorry for your losses.

@LuHen home births are getting so popular, at least you'll be in the comfort of your own home and have your family with you! Wouldn't me for me I don't think just and I'm very comfortable in the hospital since I work in the same one I'll (please God) be giving birth in! Hope it goes well, it does sound lovely
