you can add to that tired, bored and scared from this side...... even cake lost it's appeal

greedygreedyguzzler · 04/10/2007 12:55

when were you due? 1st baby? 2nd? 3rd?

OP posts:
Wizzska · 04/10/2007 13:34

Can I just be big, fat and pissed off? Am not overdue, only 31 weeks - seems like ages to go!

Bodkin · 04/10/2007 14:09

Ah, thought that might be you Greedy.

LackingNicknameInspiration · 04/10/2007 14:13

Yes!!!!

40 + 5.

I'd add "in danger of becoming very rude to friends/family and complete strangers" to that list.

Primarily because current choice of activity is either:

  1. sitting at home fending off calls/texts from people asking "have you had it yet"; or

  2. going out for a walk and then fending off lots of random people asking me when it's due and then sharing anecdotes about people they knew who went overdue.

I mean, I know they all mean well but it's getting somewhat trying now! As is being told to make the most of it before baby turns up - I can't make the most of it, I can't go far on my own, can't sleep at night etc. etc.

oops, that's turned into a bit of a rant . But, yes, definitely. You have my sympathy!!

bumptobaby · 04/10/2007 15:43

can i join you all here - i'm not overdue yet but am feeling really crap.

I have to agree with Lacking nickname, i think i will swing for the next person who asks me if i'm not away yet - does it look like i'm away yet OMG.

My MIL has a fit if i leave the house and she just happens to phone cause obviously the only reason i would leave the house is to have the baby. I'm going to need to get caller id cause call screening is needed in this house.

AAAAGGGGHHHHHH

As far as enjoying the peace and quiet before baby arrives - i don't get this if i wanted peace and quiet i wouldn't have got pregnant, i want to meet my baby!!!

bubbalikescandy · 04/10/2007 16:13

I'm overdue too - 40 +4

I'm sooooooo bored, this week is going so slow.
Day time tv is driving me mad and i too can't go anywhere, feel way too fat and sick of people saying "are you still here?" - Course I am you can't exactly miss me!!

Glimmer · 04/10/2007 17:09

Hi Gals -- Good luck to you! It sees like ages right now, but in hindsight you will think time was flying.

Greedy -- you were so helpful when I was in my first weeks (and bleeding) and now you are about to give birth. Thank you so much and how exciting!!! I will follow in six weeks....

Sarahjct · 04/10/2007 18:43

Can I just be big, fat and pissed off as well please? Only 26 weeks but having a shitty time at work and had enough of it. I'm waiting for the bit when everyone fusses over you and tells you to take it easy but instead they're piling it on and I come home every evening in tears because of the stress. And I don't get to leave for another 8 weeks.

I'll be a basketcase by the end of November

emj23 · 04/10/2007 19:24

I'm 40 + 4 too greedygreedyguzzler and bubbalikescandy! Miserable, isn't it?

I agree with Lackingnnicknameinspiration too - the constant texts and phone calls are driving me mad, why can't they understand that if I had any news I would have told them??

greedygreedyguzzler · 04/10/2007 21:38

i dont actually mind all the texts and phonecalls!!! i would hate to get none and think everyone had forgotten me! this is my third baby and i do feel a bit forgotten and neglected this time anyway!

so emj and bubbalikescandy - who will pop first out of us then......and how long before mrs fish turns up on here...she was due 30th sept too!!!

hey glimmer!!! you arent seriously telling me you only have 6 wks to go!!?? that CAN'T be right!!!! that means you will prob beat me to it as well!!!

so.........will tonight be the night!!!???? NAH!!!!!!............. don't be daft!!!

lacking - are you still around? i rem you from the due in oct thread briefly! you live in herts dont you? me too! which hospital are you going to? you never know we might end up being there at the same time!!

OP posts:
LackingNicknameInspiration · 05/10/2007 12:21

hi greedy,

yep, I was around on the A/N threads albeit briefly - kept getting busy at work so wouldn't check for a couple of days and then find hundreds of posts, so couldn't quite keep up!

Still here though, been lurking more really, but found it all useful - obviously I have a bit more time on my hands right now, so getting to check a bit more often.

I'm just over the border from Herts, in Essex (Epping Forest way) so having LO at Harlow when it eventually turns up - how about you? This is part of the reason why finding the whole overdue thing so difficult, was quite impressed at hospital on tour, particularly the birthing unit, but can only use that if low risk. So, if we start going down the more than 2 weeks late or induction route, that'll be going out of the window. And the whole thing then becomes an altogether more scary prospect! had tried not to plan anything too much for birth, on the grounds that you just don't know what will be available/how it will go (my first) but beginning to realise that actually I've somehow got an idea of my head of how it would be and that might not happen.

Anyway, a bit of time to go yet before we get there, hopefully - and DH is convinced LO is going to turn up and sabotage England v Australia tomorrow, so here's hoping!!

Hope that you're ok and at least the better weather makes a long walk a slightly more attractive option....

greedygreedyguzzler · 05/10/2007 14:30

hi lacking - so you will be at PAH then?!!! me too!!! i live in sawbridgeworth!!! i had my last 2 babies there and my experiences were good generally!! as good as they can be when giving birth anyway!!

i was supposed to have a sweep today to bring things on but then my stupid midwife phoned in sick...how dare she???!!! doesn't she know how desperate i am to have this baby!!!??? i was NOT impressed!!! i am really hoping to have this baby before monday cos that will be 8 days over and that is the most overdue i have been before.

its crap isnt it???!!!

OP posts:
LackingNicknameInspiration · 05/10/2007 15:22

Hey greedy, that's quite a coincidence - Sawbridgeworth is lovely. Glad your experience of PAh has been positive in the past - mine was limited to A&E and an op my DH had, which weren't massively positive, but I've been quite impressed whenever I've been to the maternity unit - most of my A/N have been in Epping but I had a short spell of monitoring at Harlow a couple of weeks back and they were lovely.

That's AWFUL re your sweep today though - how annoying (to put it mildly!). You must be so frustrated. Are they going to be able to do anything over the weekend or will you have to wait til Monday - you poor thing. I'm booked for a sweep on Monday - so might well see you at PAH!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 05/10/2007 16:58

so how will i know you? shall we wear carnations?!!!

i will be the one with 2 other little kids coming to visit if we end up on the post natal ward together!!!

i am tall and blonde (and VERY fat....but hopefully thats just at the moment!!!)

OP posts:
LackingNicknameInspiration · 05/10/2007 18:01

Carnations not a bad idea, except where do you stick them ??? .

I'm shortish and have very short dark hair (shorter than it was meant to be following over-enthusiastic trip to hairdresser....) - also huge at the mo but similarly hoping that's temporary! No other kids coming to visit and probably no family other than DH as mine all live a bit of a way away so think we're going to aim for a couple of days on our own before the onslaught begins....

Keep me posted on how you do!

brimfull · 05/10/2007 18:04

not pg but lol at thread title!!!!!!!

FlossALump · 05/10/2007 18:09

Aw you do all have my sympathies. I went to 40 +12 and had to be induced a week and a half ago. DD is however, lovely and chilled so far and has been an absolute pleasure. We choose to believe she was late because she is a contented soul - so here's hoping yours are as equally contented! They will be worth the wait (please don't punch me for saying it!!).

emj23 · 05/10/2007 19:03

I'm not allowed a sweep unless the baby's head engages before Sunday - I think this baby must be extraordinarily chilled out and feeling lazy, and that I'm going to end up being induced next week.

Hope you people who are still waiting too get better news and that it all kicks off for you very soon.

greedygreedyguzzler · 05/10/2007 21:58

well......i thought it was all happening earlier.......period type pains kept coming and going.............but now they have stopped.......so apparently not..............i will no doubt be here till next friday when i think i should get induced!!!

sleep well everyone!.....sending you all 'baby coming out' vibes!!

bubbalikescandy · 06/10/2007 12:50

HI how is everyone feeling today, any progress?

I lost my mucas plug last night and got very excited only to be told it could still be days / weeks away.

I have a cervical sweep booked on monday which i am not looking forward to.

I wish this baby would hurry up! Has anyone else lost there mucas plug and gone into labour soon after? - Sorry am so desperate for things to get started need a glimmer of hope!

honeyapple · 06/10/2007 14:38

Greedy- i think it is quite common with number 3 to have a lot of pre-labour twinges, on and off contractions for a while before it really kicks off. Hang on in there xx

LackingNicknameInspiration · 06/10/2007 15:14

Hi bubba

I'm still very much as I was - also booked for sweep on Monday but not a sign of anything otherwise - no show, no twinges, zilch! Even the rugby hasn't brought anything on (DH was convinced it was going to). Feeling very groggy after yet another night of waking up at 4am and being unable to get back to sleep.

Sounds like things are progressing in the right direction for you though - fingers crossed that you don't need the sweep but hopefully it should be effective if you do.

Keep us posted as to how you get on!

Charlie999 · 06/10/2007 15:25

I'm all of those mentioned in the title except its my period that's overdue and no, I'm not pg...have 18 week old DD
