Nausea

Is it “normal” to feel quite a lot of nausea at only 3+5?
This is how I kinda knew I was pregnant because it’s just an odd and hideous feeling but also suffering the same symptoms as my pregnancy a couple of months ago

It was normal for me, with all my pregnancies! Nausea was my first symptom, well before I was able to get a BFP. I always seem very sensitive to any hormonal changes going on!

ChatWithMe · 03/08/2020 14:04

Did you get a strong line on your pregnancy test? Could be your HCG is higher than most for this stage? Apparently it's what causes the nausea. I got horrible nausea from pregnancy test day at 4 weeks and I'm now struggling at 8+4. I'm looking forward to enjoying food again in hopefully a month (as HCG starts to decline at 12 weeks). Do you have other symptoms like lethargy? I feel exhausted most of the time plus headaches and constipation. Yuck Sad

Chicken123 · 03/08/2020 14:22

@ChatWithMe @Somethingsnappy
As hideous as it is, I’m glad it’s not just me!
I wouldn’t say my tests were THAT strong but strong enough not to have to squint etc.
I’ve had soooo many symptoms, that’s why I tested; nausea, spots under my chin, dizziness, metallic taste, upset tummy (and now constipated and extremely bloated for a few days and nights but without any pains, just uncomfortable.
What about you two? X

Forgot to add the pictures. First cheapy was yesterday afternoon and CB is today x

Yeah cheapies don't pick up HCG as much. Even my 10iu cheapies which surprised me. However I took a blood test 2 days later and it was 1,064. Urine tests not as reliable as blood tests. I also get more spots and dizzyness. Despite the symptoms you must be beaming today Grin

Chicken123 · 03/08/2020 15:40

@ChatWithMe
Oh really? I didn’t know that.
Yeah! I am happy, although I am trying not to be too happy.
My OH didn’t quite believe the cheapy so showed him the CB this morning and he said “is that a yes then?” 😂
How’re you feeling, not just symptoms but with your pregnancy in general x

OP posts:
ChatWithMe · 03/08/2020 16:06

Yes Chicken123 it's surreal isn't it? I'm feeling relieved because we had infertility all together 3.5 years plus 3 rounds of IVF. Happy as well as we always wanted two kids. Is this your first? x

Chicken123 · 03/08/2020 16:13

It really is @ChatWithMe
It’s hard not screaming it from the roof tops too. We’re not telling anyone this time, not even our parents until later on because it was so hard last time.
Oh bless you but how friggin amazing! I’m so glad you’re happy!!
Yeah, will be my second pregnancy and first child.
I’m supposed to go spinning this evening but I’m absolutely terrified just in case x

nettytree · 03/08/2020 16:17

I knew I was pregnant the second time when I couldn't clean my teeth without chucking up. Used yo take about 10mins before I could get them clean.

Chicken123 · 03/08/2020 16:38

@nettytree oh bless you, that sounds awful!
I actually sneezed three times in a row this morning and on the third one I started heaving because I was about to be sick. What an experience😂

OP posts:
ChatWithMe · 03/08/2020 16:44

Lucky me as I can brush my teeth without any issue.

I only told my sister I am pregnant because she had HG and I needed advice for my awful nausea and poor appetite. However I'm probably not telling anyone else until after the dating scan so another 5 weeks. So freaking hard to keep a secret like this!

Chicken123 · 04/08/2020 05:10

Have been on and off awake since 2am again. 1, because of this terrible nausea that’s keeping me awake but also the need to wee multiple times!
Currently sat in bed with a bottle of water, my anti-sickness bands on and a pack of polos😩

OP posts:
Chicken123 · 04/08/2020 23:11

My god!
My nausea has been in the mornings and eases up throughout the day and I’m fine to go to bed. TONIGHT I’ve been fine until I got into bed, and I feel drunk!
I feel so dizzy and so sick. I’m really tired but when I close my eyes the room feels like it’s spinning.
Also having a huge hot flush too!
I’ve put my anti-sickness bands on to sleep in to see if it helps and am sipping some water through a straw!
Has anyone else suffered with this kind of drink feeling in really early pregnancy?🤢

OP posts:
ChatWithMe · 05/08/2020 07:11

Poor thing. I know how you feel. It's a spaced hung over feeling for me. I hate when the sickness affects sleep. It's like no respite! Hope you feel better soon x

Chicken123 · 05/08/2020 07:53

@ChatWithMe It’s bloody awful!
I managed to get a little sleep but slept on the sofa and remember my mother in law saying that when she was younger and got drunk, to help stop the room spinning she slept flat with no pillow and that did seem to help.
I’m praying that I have a better night sleep tonight x

ChatWithMe · 05/08/2020 07:56

Aw ok Chicken123. I always need a pillow but whatever works. Btw I didn't find the travel wristbands helpful at all. Have you felt they've helped? Trying to force down a breakfast bar now yuk

Chicken123 · 05/08/2020 08:07

I don’t know what I think about the wristbands to be honest. I think it must be a placebo. I wore them all last night and I still felt sick so.
Yeah, I feel like I need to eat but the thought of eating makes me want to be sick😩
This whole pregnancy malarkey is not glamorous at all! x

OP posts:
ChatWithMe · 05/08/2020 08:41

Maybe a glass of juice in the morning? I have gone off water so have diluted juice. I hate feeling crap too Angry

Chicken123 · 05/08/2020 10:31

That’s a good idea @ChatWithMe
I’ve had a shower and got dressed, now laying on my bed about to have a nap.
I’ve been on annual leave and the whole time I’ve just felt s**t and wasted it😂
I can’t wait to be able to tell our parents and siblings! Really don’t know when to do it though x

OP posts:
ChatWithMe · 05/08/2020 10:59

Yeah it's hard not telling the world when you feel so sick but most wait til 12 weeks. I think we may tell some before that but not sure. I'm 9 weeks tomorrow and wishing away the next three weeks. Considering getting the harmony test next week as it can be done from 10 weeks.

Chicken123 · 05/08/2020 12:45

Isn’t it!
I’ve booked in for an early scan at 7+3 and that’s in just over 3 weeks because I’m so early.
I don’t know how quickly the appointments go in this area otherwise I wouldn’t have booked it so early.
Not long for you to go before you’re towards the end of your first trimester! I bet you’ll be so happy to get it out of the way😂 it’s the most nerve wracking time x

OP posts:
ChatWithMe · 05/08/2020 13:55

Glad you have a scan booked. At 7+3 you can definitely see something plus a heartbeat. Good time to check! Yes I'm desperate toget past the first trimester. I take a nap when my toddler naps after lunch sometimes. I'm just getting up from it and find it makes me a bit groggy and dizzy. So it's a mixed bag. I guess I prefer to nap if I can. The more rest the better during these early weeks. Hope you have a restful day. When you back at work?

Chicken123 · 05/08/2020 20:16

The quicker it goes @ChatWithMe the better. I’ve just got into bed because it’s hit me again really bad and just seems to be getting worse. I feel so crap.
I haven’t stopped working. I work shifts too which is hard. I’ve just had 5 days off and back tomorrow, and I haven’t been at work since feeling this awful so that’ll be interesting!! x

OP posts:
ChatWithMe · 05/08/2020 20:37

Oh gosh Chicken123. I hope you're not expected to run around and stuff. If you feel awful tomorrow you definitely have to tell your boss even if you ask them to keep it private for now. Stay hydrated with diluted juice at minimum and pack some crackers or something so you don't get an empty tummy. Good luck. I'm a SAHM so I'm lucky but I worker throughout my first pregnancy and you definitely have to slow things down a notch!

Chicken123 · 05/08/2020 21:24

@ChatWithMe
I definitely will be telling them, especially as my job can be so full on and thank you for the advise too! Will deffo keep some bits in my bag.
Oh that’s okay then. Yeah I can imagine!
You read on here that women get hit with awful symptoms at like 6/7 weeks..if this is how I am from 3+5 and getting worse, surely it can’t get WORSE than this? X
