When did you first feel baby move?

I'm 15+2 and a first time mum and was just wondering when you felt baby moving for the first time? I'm very aware it could be a while yet but am hating this limbo in between scans not knowing if baby is okay.. I have a private scan booked for 18+2 but wondered what the chances are of feeling movement before then is!?
Thanks x

I first started feeling him moving just before 19 weeks Smile

@Pol96 hi im also a FTM and im now 26 weeks. I thought I had felt a few little movements but nothing that I was convinced about until a proper kick at 18+6. I wasn't expecting it that early to be honest but its amazing!
I remember being around 16 weeks and hearing the heartbeat at midwifes appointment thinking, i still cant believe there's a baby in there!! So it wont be long for you!! But remember its different for everyone so might be earlier or later.
It feels like you wait ages so those kicks and movements, but once you feel then, they gradually get more and more. Best feeling in the world!

@bubbles519 thank you!

@biscuit13 I can't wait to feel movement, it still doesn't feel real even though I saw it moving around at the scan! I can't wait!!

Little wiggles from around 16 weeks then first definite kick 18+2

Pol96 · 01/08/2020 11:03

@bluebell94 thank you! Hopefully mines a similar time frame, would be amazing to have felt a first proper kick for my private scan!

I'm also a FTM and 20+1. I had little flutters around 16 weeks, but can feel him proper wiggle now. I love it.

Pearsapiece · 01/08/2020 11:14

I was 17 weeks with my first and 13 weeks with my second. Both were when I was lying down on my back that I felt them and I knew it was baby flipping over rather than kicking

stormy11 · 01/08/2020 11:37

I was 14 weeks with my first. As previous post has mentioned I was lying on my back. It felt like butterflies in my tummy. It was quite a while after that until I felt a distinctive kick. X

Maidmummy · 01/08/2020 11:40

17 weeks with first 3 babies and again 17 weeks with number 4, I had anterior placentas in the first 3 pregnancies and again in this one so can take a while to feel anything, luckily my placenta isn't low so I feel most of his movements low down and at the side x

onetime10 · 01/08/2020 11:41

24 weeks with baby no 2 and on both I felt them move at 18 weeks. Nothing huge but tiny little flutters, almost like a gentle bubble bursting! X

Prettylittlelady · 01/08/2020 11:43

I’m a FTM and I would say that I felt flutters from around 17 weeks but I really wasn’t sure if it was baby or not and from 19 weeks I was sure it was baby. I thought it would be later than this as I have an anterior placenta so was pleasantly surprised! Now at 29 weeks I usually feel her lots throughout the day.

Carabu1 · 01/08/2020 12:15

I’m 18+4 and nothing yet....! At my scan this week I was told it probably won’t be before 20-21 weeks...so that has managed my expectations, ha.

lemorella · 01/08/2020 12:45

About 22 weeks for absolute definite kicks.

Pol96 · 01/08/2020 12:56

Thanks everyone! I felt something like bubbles at 14 weeks (wasn't gas 😅) but also not 100% sure if it was baby. Like some of you said I was laying on my back when I felt it.

First time around it was around 22 weeks second time it was 14 weeks and I knew what the wee flutters were Flowers

jojanna · 01/08/2020 13:27

Around 20 weeks that I was sure I could feel anything (FTM, now at about 25 weeks)

Addler · 01/08/2020 13:32

I was a bit unusual and didn't have any flutters or pops or anything light, even though I would lie still for ages trying to feel something, and then when I was 20 weeks I had two great big thumps that made my belly move and ever since then it's been lots of movement.

bee222 · 01/08/2020 13:33

FTM 20 weeks and still waiting to feel something.

RowboatsinDisguise · 01/08/2020 13:51

14+5 or 6 with number one.
12+6 with number two but it was very sporadic until about 15 weeks.
Definite obvious movements from 15-16 weeks with both. I seem to be quite sensitive to the sensations.

Viletta · 01/08/2020 13:54

Around 20w

sunlight81 · 01/08/2020 14:20

Dd - aged 21 ... 24weeks
DS - aged 37 ... 22 weeks
Twinnies - aged 38 18.5 weeks

In fact today was the day I first felt the twinnies!! Wasn't too strong but strong enough to know it was twin A

Birdy1991 · 01/08/2020 14:23

Nothing at all until 24+2

whistler2020 · 01/08/2020 14:27

FTM here too! First felt a couple of flutters around 17 weeks but put it down to gas! Then at 19+5 had first proper kicksSmile

peachypetite · 01/08/2020 14:55

First time mum, 22 weeks. Anterior placenta which is why.

Mc3209 · 01/08/2020 15:09

FTM, felt first movements around 16-17 weeks (very gentle, like a soft muscle twitch). Then proper kicks 19-20 weeks onwards.
