Congratulations on the safe arrival of your beautiful babies ladies.

Our little bundle, Alara, arrived on 31st July at 38+1 weighing just 5lbs 15oz.
I was diagnosed with preeclampsia and admitted to hospital on the Tuesday then my section date was brought forward to the Friday so it was a bit of a whirlwind week but so happy she's here safe and well.

KittyKat2020 · 04/08/2020 22:43

@sel2223 congratulations!
What was the cesarian like? Could your partner stay long?

JMill13 · 04/08/2020 22:58

gemso2020 · 05/08/2020 09:34

Hey ladies,

So many babies now - congrats to all the new mamas! What gorgeous babies + names!!

40+2 now and still no signs of anything happening, went to the hospital for a check this morning - they offered a sweep but I said no for now, will wait and see!

Mammyofasuperbaby · 05/08/2020 13:11

Well ladies at 8 days old we are finally leaving the hospital as they are happy that my son is taking just enough milk.
He's actually had a diagnosis is being a suspected premature baby at 36+ weeks rather than the 37+3 he was born at. So that means that both of my surviving children are premature

Camia · 05/08/2020 13:14

Sitting here with baby asleep on me (nice and full finally, he's acted like he hasn't eaten in a week all night) so thought I would catch up. Congratulations to all the new mamas! So glad to hear everyone seems to be doing well, and good luck to everyone still waiting

@sezzywoowoo21 I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Hopefully third time's the charm

Jamina22 · 06/08/2020 00:22

I’m new here with baby number 4 due September 6th

Jamina22 · 06/08/2020 00:23

Congratulations to all the mummies
Welcome to all the babies

sugarplumfairy2010 · 06/08/2020 14:54

My little girl arrived late last night at 38+2 was hoping for a homebirth but ended up being induced as waters broke over 24 hours before and no labour. Wasn't what I wanted but Labour was less than 3 hours with just gas and air and she's perfect so I'm happy. x

cannotmakemymindup · 06/08/2020 15:58

Congratulations to all the new mums! August is a busy month for us all including us still waiting Grin

@sugarplumfairy2010 congratulations!

Very exciting as the thread fills up with births. Keeping my fingers crossed that those of you still waiting don't have to wait for much longer!

sel2223 · 06/08/2020 20:43

Congratulations @sugarplumfairy2010, enjoy those newborn cuddles.

This thread is so busy with babies now, it's amazing to read 😍

@KittyKat2020 I was fortunate as the rules have changed at my hospital and birth partners can now stay from the moment you arrive at hospital to the time you are discharged. I think it's because everyone has their own room so not on a shared ward but it made such a difference.
The section was overall a positive experience and recovery has been so much better/easier than expected (so far - I'm 6 days post op)

JMill13 · 07/08/2020 07:45

Ooh congratulations new mummies! ❤️

Newmama29 · 07/08/2020 22:44

Congratulations to all the new mummies! Anyone want to enlighten me to how you knew you were in labour? I’m FTM & apprehensive about when I know it’s the right time or not 🙈

Camia · 08/08/2020 05:29

@Newmama29 I had the same worry but I can say I definitely knew. I kind of just had a feeling when it really started. I had a sudden contraction that was noticeably stronger than anything I'd felt before so that got my attention, but there was just kind of an overall gut feeling that something was different. I started timing them right away because of it and they were clearly regular and getting closer together so that confirmed it for me.

My appetite also disappeared completely right as I started getting contractions so that might be something worth watching for? I mean I sat down with dinner, got 3 bites in, and then it was just gone completely within a few minutes of contractions starting. Don't know if that's a common thing to happen though

sezzywoowoo21 · 08/08/2020 09:50

Hay lovely mamas how are we all doing...well I'm 5days past due date really fed up had so many false contractions and server period cramps but nothing kicking off 3 sweeps done nothing 😢 getting induced Wednesday if lil lady still not here x

Kalesandwich · 08/08/2020 10:00

@sezzywoowoo21 I'm exactly the same, 3 days past. Been having weird pains that are sort of in-between a construction and period cramps but nothings happening. Had a sweep 2 days ago but she couldn't do it properly. MIL is here already for childcare so I'm praying I go before my induction date of 17th Sad

gemso2020 · 08/08/2020 10:39

@sezzywoowoo21 I’m right with you, also 5 days past now. Guess they are just happy and cozy in there!

Went for a check at the hospital this morning and they said my contractions have started but I don’t feel a thing..?!

Let’s all hope for some action before inductions are needed!

Newmama29 · 08/08/2020 17:29

@Camia I’m relying on the “you will know” theory but it’s so difficult! My DP works nights driving a fair journey so there’s a window of time where if I go into labour he may not be able to be home for 6 hours so I would like to be definite “this is it” so we could hopefully avoid that! I’ve been having a lot of spasms in my back today & a bit of a dodgy feeling stomach, feels like my muscles are stretching in my tummy but nothing consistent so just don’t know!

Superscientist · 10/08/2020 08:21

How is everyone getting on?
I had a little girl yesterday 6lb 13. 8 days early and made a hasty arrival into the world with us arriving at the hospital with just in time to push.

Aaah congratulations and well done! That must have been scary, what was the lead up? Im due 18th with my second IVF baby but no signs yet, Midwife suggest a sweep this Wednesday but I’m inclined to leave him put until he is read x
Nellie3 · 10/08/2020 10:06

Wow congratulations @Superscientist and everyone who's little ones are here! 😍💖

I'm now 40+2 and would love her to come soon. I've been offered a sweep tomorrow, I wasn't keen on the idea but I think I might try it as I really want to avoid getting to a full induction. Does anyone know how long they tend to leave it before induction? Xxx
