Hope everyone is okay!

I'm booked in for an induction next Friday so only 6 more days for me!!

I'm hoping he miraculously decides to come on my 20th birthday on Monday (fingers crossed!)

WeeScottishWife · 01/08/2020 19:22

Hi ladies! I have a ‘does this sound like early labour’ question.
I’ve had slight period-type aches over the whole day, nothing major that I haven’t experienced a few times over the past few weeks. In the past hour, it’s really ramped up to being quite consistent & quite a lot of pain. Lower back is achy but in front all the pain is the bottom of my bump. The pain feels quite constant, there are slight peaks but they feel far too close together & also too short to be contractions.
I’m 40+2, have also been quite constipated today & in the last half hour had the slightest tinge of colour in my knickers.

Any thoughts or similar experiences?

MaisieMolly · 01/08/2020 21:30

@WeeScottishWife no idea but definitely phone your midwife to check. That’s what they’re there for. Hope you are ok! X

Nellie3 · 02/08/2020 08:56

@WeeScottishWife hope you're ok and it was the start of something?

Xxx

Hello all just wondering if anyone made a wassapp group? Xx

Rachyrach1930 · 03/08/2020 04:05

Hi all just would like to say a massive thank you to the support this group has done for me. After a eventful induction, I ended up with an emergency c section and finally got a surprise of a baby boy Smile he has an isolated cleft lip which we knew about and thankfully no palate involved so able to breastfeed (he hasnt got off the boob lol) good luck to everyone and I wish you all well. Please meet baby Jude weighing 6lbs 6oz. 💙

I’m 37+4 and something changed yesterday morning. I woke up to strong period pains at 4am which went away after an hour or so. Spent the entire day with a constant feeling of needing a wee and pain in my hips. This morning same period pains and bump feels sore all over. It feels so uncomfortable to walk now as well. Can’t remember feeling like this at the end with DS1 🙄🤷🏻‍♀️

Bert2020 · 03/08/2020 07:57

Congratulations @Rachyrach1930 gorgeous little Jude.

sezzywoowoo21 · 03/08/2020 08:04

Louisaizzy · 03/08/2020 08:33

Congratulations on all the new mummy’s!
I’m having a c section tomorrow.. any top tips?
It’s my third baby but first c section xxx

Superscientist · 03/08/2020 08:49

Congratulations all the new mummy's

This is going to sound like a silly question but what do "period like cramps" feel like? I've never had them (don't hate me!!) but since yesterday afternoon I keep getting tightenings lower down a bit like a stitch /cramp is this what they mean?

Nellie3 · 03/08/2020 10:38

@Superscientist yes I think that describes period like cramps well! I was having them quite consistently for parts of the day yesterday, and in my lower back too. I went to bed thinking this could be it but no! This I happening to me far too often haha 😅

I know this has been discussed before and I started another thread about it too but today I am feeling stressed about the coronavirus/seeing family situation when the baby is born. I've found out someone very close to me in my family has been completely ignoring the guidelines and has been staying at numerous people's houses, meeting big groups etc but she will expect to hold the baby and will kick off if I say no. I've already warned her and told her it she expects to come round to be very careful for 2 weeks prior but she's ignored it. Shes also moving in with my dad soon and I'm worried as she will be putting him at risk. Argh! Sorry I don't know why this I bothering me SO much, I'm usually a very chilled person 😓 xxx

Nellie3 · 03/08/2020 10:41

@Louisaizzy no advice I'm afraid but wanted to say good luck, how exciting you know you will meet your baby tomorrow 😍. I've only heard positive things from friends that have had the procedure, they've said it's really calm and lovely 💖.

@Liverpool20 how are you feeling now? I've had this too, bloomin annoying not knowing what's normal/not normal! Xx

cannotmakemymindup · 03/08/2020 10:52

Congratulations @Rachyrach1930!!

@Nellie3 Sorry you have family being irresponsible. It is your right as your babies mum to protect them how you see fit irrespective of people behaving silly and consequently kicking off. If you think somebody is to unsafe then stick with your mother instinct.

cannotmakemymindup · 03/08/2020 10:56

@Louisaizzy My tips for C-section would be make sure you take it easy and get OH to help as much as possible especially with nappy changes etc as you won't be able to bend at first.
Everyones recovery is different but be kind to yourself! Make sure you have giant granny knickers ready that won't go anywhere near the cut.

Oldestchild90s · 03/08/2020 12:00

@Nellie3 I feel exactly the same as you. My family have really stressed me out since the day they found out, and then lockdown began! I feel like even though it's my life it has become out of my control. I think it's time for us to put our feet down and not take any 💩 from anyone no matter who we upset it has to be done!!

Our babies are our number 1 priority but remember you are in charge so you tell people how you want it done!!

Oldestchild90s · 03/08/2020 12:01

@Rachyrach1930 Congratulations to you and your family he is simply gorgeous 😍😍

Superscientist · 03/08/2020 13:26

We are in one of the areas with rising cases and localised restrictions so I don't think we will be having visitors after the birth anymore. We had been hoping to isolate at home for a week or so then have parents to visit. We are just going to have to wait and see what the local numbers are like after she is born.

My family are starting to get fatigue by the rules and getting a bit lax which is difficult. My partner parents are 250+ miles away so can only come once overnight visits are sensible again. It's difficult because it's an ever changing picture.

NamiSwan · 04/08/2020 07:56

Hi all, havent caught up with the thread but wanted to share that my baby Renata was born on Sat 1st August weighing 8lb 6!

Didn't get the home birth I had planned as had to be transferred to hospital at 10cm when she got stuck during pushing. Then had a dramatic appearance in the labour ward as her shoulder got stuck coming out. However we are both recovering ok and back home home now. Her big sisters are very smitten with her which is lovely to see.

Hope everyone is well, will catch up to the thread now and congrats to everyone who has had their babies so far and good luck to those still waiting! ❤

Feeling so bored today!
My pelvis pain is worse and it’s a week to go till my cesarian. I feel like time is dragging, it’s so painful!

watermelonsugar99 · 04/08/2020 19:03

Hi! Just thought I'd update everyone, I had my little boy Oliver at 7:07am this morning! Weighing 7lbs.. Went into spontaneous labour on Sunday& laboured until 5am today where they told me I could start pushing. After an exhausting hour& a bit of pushing they realised his head was turned and that's why I was getting no where, they tried to turn him themselves but it didn't happen at all so was rushed into theatre where they used forceps and had an episiotomy.. still currently in hospital as I have a catheter in but they're hoping to take it out in an hour. Super nervous about them doing it but I know that if I have a few wees by tomorrow morning I'll be able to go home 🥰

Good luck to all the mammas to be, you's will all smash it❤️
