Congratulations to all you lovely ladies that have their new little bundles, I'm currently 38+4 and still waiting for my little prince to make an appearance, hate this waiting game!

sezzywoowoo21 · 10/08/2020 10:38

Hello ladies I'm currently 41weeks today 🥵 sat at midwife waiting for 3rd sweep and too book my induction for Wednesday I can't blooming wait this heat is getting far too much...congratulations to all the new mummy's 😍 xx

Goatsdorhone · 10/08/2020 10:38

I'm 40+1 today. Had a sweep yesterday but doesn't appear to have done the trick (after a bit of false hope with tightenings afterwards). Booked in for another sweep later in the week and then if all else fails will be induced at 41+5.
So ready to get this show on the road...though wish it would cool down a bit first!

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting and congratulations to those that have had their babies already!x

Nellie3 · 10/08/2020 11:47

@sezzywoowoo21 and @Goatsdorhone how were your sweeps? I'm weirdly nervous which isn't a good sign considering I have to actually give birth very soon 😅 xx

Goatsdorhone · 10/08/2020 11:57

@Nellie3 It wasn't as bad as I was expecting...I just tried to stay quite relaxed and actually ended up laughing as it was such a bizarre experience Grin - the midwife was like err that's never happened before!
I got a bishops score of 5 so it was looking positive for going into labour naturally in the next few days but nothing so far Sad

ml01omm · 10/08/2020 14:18

Catching up on this thread- so many babies over the last 2- 3 weeks!

Congratulations to all the new mums!

Mine is showing no signs of budging, hope they don't decide to become a September baby instead!

gemso2020 · 10/08/2020 14:57

Congratulations @Superscientist!! Lovely news!

41w today, still no signs 😕 - going back for a check up tmw, I’ve said no to the sweeps so far but might take it tmw otherwise it’s induction on Wednesday...

sezzywoowoo21 · 10/08/2020 15:23

3rd sweep done nothing 😡 go in Saturday to have the little madam xx

Superscientist · 10/08/2020 15:27

My waters broke at midnight. I went it for monitoring and I started having niggles of contractions whilst I was there. At 3 am they had started properly. I went into to be examined at 8.30 and was 2 cm. I was sent home by 11.30 I was struggling to cope feeling a bit pathetic and not expecting to meet the 4cm to stay I called in anyway. I got there and was fully dilated and started pushing pretty much immediately. Just before calling I had asked my partner to make us lunch before I called then changed my mind if I hadn't i would have been still at home when I the urge to push came. I was already having the "I really need a poo" feeling which I hadn't attributed to being anything other than I need a poo!

Superscientist · 10/08/2020 15:33

Sorry that should have had @Liverpool20 at the start

mable88 · 10/08/2020 16:21

Congratulations to all the new mummies! 38 + 6 here, no signs of little miss making her entrance any time soon... I'm so hot, uncomfortable and bored! I know I should be making the most of my last few baby-free days but it's hard when we are so desperate to meet her. Also most of the babies in my NCT group have now arrived and a lot of the chat is about breastfeeding/babies so I have bad FOMO 😂

Nellie3 · 12/08/2020 08:41

How's everyone doing? I'm now 40+4, had my first sweep attempt yesterday and my bishop score was only 2 and the cervix wasn't open atall. I had quite bad cramps all day and evening. No action over night and feel alright this morning. I've been offered another sweep on Friday, I'm not sure whether to accept but I am keen to avoid full induction so might give it a go.

They also said my baby's head has become disengaged again and is back to back. Troublesome child! Any one have any tips on how to turn the baby and get them engaged? Xxx

MizMoonshine · 12/08/2020 09:01

@Nellie3 I don't know how much truth there is in this, but apparently scrubbing the floors (hands and knees jobby) helps to get the baby into position. You can also use that position for other... Natural... types of induction.

NamiSwan · 12/08/2020 09:05

@Nellie3 if baby is back to back you don't want to encourage engagement as will be harder to turn then. So no bouncing on a birthing ball!

Ways to encourage baby to turn now are all fours position so cat/cow yoga, or leaning forward against a ball, sitting backwards on a chair and leaning forward, and basically avoiding anything where you are slumped backwards or learning back when you are resting or sitting. Good luck!

Rainbow714 · 12/08/2020 09:08

Im now 39+4 and still no signs of our little lady coming, few cramps and tighenings but soon disappear. Booked in for a sweep Friday morning!
Congratulations to all you new mummies, hopefully not long till our turn ❤

Nellie3 · 12/08/2020 09:09

@MizMoonshine haha 😅 I'm just too hot to thing about that method 😅

@NamiSwan that's very true about the head I didn't think of that! I'm free all day today, going to spend lots of time in those positions. I've also heard to look at a website called spinning babies so will check that out.

Nellie3 · 12/08/2020 09:11

@Rainbow714 I feel you! The on off signs are very annoying. How are you dealing with the heat (if it's not where you are)? X

MizMoonshine · 12/08/2020 09:26

@Nellie3 I tried that method last night (after about two weeks of staying away from it 'cause fat and hot and uncomfortable) and it was just awful 😂 Literally neither of us could be bothered, we were both sweating like sinners in church and had also had a curry earlier on in the evening. Terrible, terrible idea.

I'm 40+3 had 3sweeps that's done nothing get induced Saturday baby engaged but back 2 back so been sitting with legs over chair to try and move her which hasn't worked...just so hot and want her here already 🙏😓🥵 xx
Rainbow714 · 12/08/2020 12:52

@Nellie3 its so frustrating everytime i get a pain i wonder if its the start then it just stops! Even woke me up at 3am the other night for them to just stop after awhile. The heat is unbearable at the minute, im melting and hiding in the shade when i can 😂

Rainbow714 · 12/08/2020 12:55

Im interested in what peoples thoughts are regarding family/friends meeting baby with Covid still around? Now we are close to having our babies.

@KittyKat2020 aww wow he's adorable!! Massive congratulations 💞 xxx

Nellie3 · 12/08/2020 20:00

@Rainbow714 this is still a massive concern of mine too :( we've talked about different possibilities but don't want to make a desicion until the baby is born as we don't know how we will feel emotionally at that point. What are you thinking? X
