Okay I'm still super nervous but time to take the plunge and started a Grad bus for the recent BFPs from the main thread. According to NHS calculator I'm due 18th March and it's #1 for me 😬

@mrsmummy1111 @Kliz92 👋 and welcome to our little group, congrats on the BFPs 🥳 I made this thread as a follow on from a ttc thread some of us girls had been on for a couple months. We're a friendly bunch and obviously all welcome but it would be great to know a bit more about your story as feel like I know everything about the other ladies 😂 so feel free to do a little intro of who you are ☺️

I'm T, 31, accidentally fell pregnant in January this year but had a MC in March and after that decided to ttc, I got my BFP a couple weeks ago and due date is 18th March... this will be my 1st ❤️

@zippityzip how many tests are you going to do? I always think line progression is harder to see day on day, I did 3 FRERs over 10 days and I could really see the line progression. I think the line looks darker but you'll be able to see more of a progression tomorrow if you are planning another test ☺️ x

@SmileyT I'm due 29th March 2021 - by then I'll be 31. This is my third (and final) DC, but the first we've actually planned.

How did everyone tell their DH's?!

zippityzip · 21/07/2020 06:31

@SmileyT whoaaaa look at your bottom one! That's stronger than the control line!

Well that was my last FRER and I begrudge paying another £10! But I have some ICs I could do. To be honest I feel very sick already so maybe I'll just try and be content with the fact that it's positive.

Is anyone going to book an early scan?

mrsmummy1111 · 21/07/2020 06:57

Morning everyone. Thanks very much for the lovely welcome @SmileyT and so sorry to hear about the MC in March. But I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and maybe that's what you needed to make you realise you were ready for a baby. Either way, very happy for you to now have your BFP and wishing everyone healthy happy pregnancies.

Just a little intro from me. I'm 32 with a 15 month old DS so this is #2 for us. We conceived DS about a week after getting my coil taken out without even realising I was ovulating, so although he was very much planned, he was a wonderful surprise. We have been TTC for 6 months this time and I'll be honest, it was stressful and although I had geared myself up for it taking a little longer this time, I had underestimated how hard it is when you're desperate for a baby and AF shows up. But we got our BFP yesterday and we're absolutely over the moon! I've had very little obvious symptoms (and didn't with DS either) other than very sore gums but trying to just remember I felt this way last time and everything was fine. Hope all you ladies are feeling ok and look forward to getting to know you all a bit more Smile

SmileyT · 21/07/2020 07:27

@zippityzip haha yeah I actually had bought a 4 pack of FRERs (first month buying them) so wanted to use them all but decided there was going to be no progression from the last one 😂 how old are your other DC? I just waved the stick in his face in the dark, he was like wtf are you doing? But he knew my cycle and when I I was testing so no big surprise, he also said I wasn't allowed to tell MN before him so had to get it done quickly. I've. Okey an early scan for the 7th August (I'll be 8weeks then as last time I had one at 6 and 7weeks saw a HB and MC afterwards so trying to hold off a little longer this time but it feels like ages) will you book one? x

@mrsmummy1111 hi 👋 yes I'm very much seeing this as a new pregnancy and trying to enjoy every minute. I'm also another one with no symptoms apart from being tired and throwing up a couple times, but no nausea but not overthinking it. Where are you based? x

OP posts:
zippityzip · 21/07/2020 07:35

@SmileyT I told my DH last night by wrapping a baby grow and the test and he's still in shock. We honestly didn't think we had a chance this month. I didn't even get a peak on an OPK. He woke up this morning and said "oh fuck" I think it's sinking in 🤣

He doesn't want to tell anyone until after we've had a scan but I can't wait another two months - hopefully going to book one for around 8 weeks and if everything is ok then tell people then. My mum is my best friend so it's going to kill me not saying anything!

My DCs are 9&5 so I think they will be excited. They asked for a brother or sister last year and we laughed at the idea.

Noble89 · 21/07/2020 07:39

Morning ladies!

First of all welcome and massive congratulations @Kliz92 @mrsmummy1111 and @zippityzip 😊

@zippityzap I made the same mistake as you and tested 24 hours apart and couldn't see any difference. Then tested again 24 hours later and there was clear progression. Remember it's very early days and HCG doubles every 48 hours. FRER have a sensitivity of about 6.5 so if you tested positive fairly early you might only have been at about 8 and 24 hours later that may only have jumped to 10. Being slightly more hydrated would also mean the test won't have changed. I've been exactly the same as you, couldn't resist testing every day when I first found out but honestly those are clear positives and you've got nothing to worry about 😊

In other news I feel like I've been hit by a truck 😂. My nausea is genuinely 24/7 and only stops for a little while either whilst I'm eating or for around 10 minutes after I throw up. Exhaustion is also hitting HARD. I slept for like 18 hours on Sunday 😂. I got up at like 10:30am. Went back to bed for a nap at 1 and slept till 4. Had a bath and just lay out on the bed to dry off and fell asleep again. My OH came up at 9pm and thought I was dead 😂😂😂. Apparently I was completely starkers face down with my head under the pillow. He said he tried to wake me up thinking I'd napped so much I'd never sleep through the night but I was having none of it. I did eventually wake up at 9:30 and was up till 11pm then slept till 10 the next morning 😱😱😱.

I'm scared I'm cooking like 5 kids in there or something as my symptoms seem very strong for how early on I am. I won't even be 5 weeks till Thursday!

Kliz92 · 21/07/2020 08:23

So im 27 i live with my partner of 9 years and we already have a daughter whos 4 (she was born on Christmas day) so this will be number two!
I had a very difficult labour last time which lasted 21 hours in active labour before they decided i needed an E c-section which for me i hated so im hoping i can pop this one out nicely 😂 but we shall see. Xxx

Kliz92 · 21/07/2020 08:25

Oh ive also test 5 times but here is 3 of them 😂 first 2 was sunday and the last clear blue was yesterday xx

Kliz92 · 21/07/2020 08:26

Sorry for commenting again yhe first one is yesterday, the order was changed xxx

zippityzip · 21/07/2020 08:32

@Noble89 Your comment actually made me laugh out loud!! Starkers face down 😭 isn't that whah you got you in this position 😂

You're not alone - I'm 4w2d and all morning I've been repressing the urge to vomit. Hopefully it eases off for you in a few weeks!

Cocoblue22 · 21/07/2020 10:10

@SmileyT aww good I'm glad you're going to take some time for yourself for lunch I used to be bad and be too busy to eat at work and I'd be starving at tea time but now I try and make sure I have time to eat and make everything else wait because it is important to look after ourselves. Why did you have a scan at 6 and 7 weeks last time? I can't remember the reason x

@LittleRa I feel bloated in the evenings too it's not as bad in the morning I said to DH I'll need my maternity pants out soon as hardly anything fits be already or if it goes it's just not comfy. I've felt less bothered and tired and bloated so hadn't since FW but did once at the wknd and it was fine :) it really can't hurt the baby but I'm always extra cautious but it's important to keep connected with OH so I might just say once a week I think that's pretty standard x

@mrsmummy1111 @Kliz92 congratulations on BFP 🎉 and welcome 👋🏻 x

@zippityzip it took mine a good few days to darken up! Don't worry! I have an early scan booked for next week x

@Noble89 you may be that unlucky one woman In 100 who gets the severe morning sickness ☹️ hopefully it will pass soon. I haven't felt sick the last few days mines more just the feeling now and again and comes and goes not enough to actually be sick! X

I'm 6w today so holding off until tomorrow to try the CB again and hoping to see the 3+ x

SmileyT · 21/07/2020 12:50

@zippityzip ahh that's such a lovely way to share the news ☺️ and DC will be so excited. I don't think I'll tell my mum until I'm about 22weeks (her birthday), she gets a bit overexcited and don't need that in my life 😂

@Noble89 ahh bless ya, just rest up and definitely see the Drs if the nausea carries on no need to suffer if they can prescribe you something ❤️

@Kliz92 it's funny you say that, I'm terrified at the thought of having a vaginal birth, hopefully I get over that closer to the time 🙈

@Cocoblue22 today I've already had two croissants and just sat down to have a proper lunch ✌🏾 my experience was actually so quick last time - so I wasn't trying or tracking and was on holiday when period was due so just kinda forgot about it, took a test at 6w which was obviously a blazing positive, then I spotted a few days later so went into the local EPU and had a scan, we'd already booked a scan for a week later so thought might aswell go... so I had 2 scans within 10days of finding out, where everything looked good. But then a week later I started spotting again and went in they wouldn't scan me just checked and cervix was closed then a week later I was in surgery. But that's all in the past so just focusing on positive vibes for this pregnancy and not being a negative Nelly 🤪 (sorry that was a long answer but can't be bothered to edit down now) How are you doing today? Can't wait for you to be the first one to have their scan 🥳 x

Cocoblue22 · 21/07/2020 13:30

@SmileyT that makes sense now I just wondered why you had two so close together!! I've been a right piggy and eaten almost a full bar of mint Oreo chocolate and some crumpets with cheese on 🐷 so much for being healthy but it all tasted amazing! Tried on some maternity clothes I ordered too one dress is so long it almost touches the floor....problems of being short! I already look PG my belly is sticking out so much and even if I breathe in it just stays put! I'm so excited for my scan next week too I literally can't wait to see little bean I hope everything is as it should be 🤞🏻 x

Kliz92 · 21/07/2020 13:35

@SmileyT isnt it strange 😂. But im gonna give it a go this this and see!
I ley the doctors know yesterday and i may have to be under the consultant because of my asthma (which is really bad atm) but we will see.
Does anyone else feel weird about planning ahead? Even though its my second it feels new 😂 xx

Bl0ndi3 · 21/07/2020 14:26

Ive been soooo wiped out today, struggled to get to sleep last night tried everything; my usual crime podcasts, meditation etc and then I've felt icky all day and had a 1 hour nap at lunch haha whoops! 😬 perks of working from home I guess!

zippityzip · 21/07/2020 14:38

@Cocoblue22 I've never tried crumpets and cheese. That's on my list.

I feel really sick today. Allllll day.

SmileyT · 21/07/2020 16:21

@Cocoblue22 haha love that you already have a bump that's crazy, did your DS measure big? And I feel you on being short 5ft1 and everything always looks so different on the models online to me 😂

@Kliz92 yeah I'll definitely give pushing a go if I can, as long as baby is okay I don't really care ☺️I want to plan but just feel like there isn't anything to do right now so just twiddling my thumbs, 12week scan is booked for 7th September which feels ages away just want it to be 12weeks now x

@Bl0ndi3 ahh bless ya, this was me at the weekend I had 2 naps on Sunday, work is so mental and I'm in the office so naps are definitely off the agenda for me during the week just 9pm bedtimes. I use a sleep hypnosis by Paul McKenna to sleep and it's great but can only do it when OH isn't in bed with me x

OP posts:
Cocoblue22 · 21/07/2020 16:53

@zippityzip it's amazing you have to try them better than cheese on toast! You can also top them with a cooked bacon medalion and cheese on top that's nice too x

@SmileyT DS did measure big on his scans but it was because I also had loads and I mean loads of water you know they say when your waters burst it's never like on tv where it's a big gush...well mine was they flooded our car and I arrived at the hospital looking like I'd swam there!!! We had a terrible birth so I deffo think I'll be having an elective c section this time! My belly just looks really bloated now and all the muscles have relaxed I look so bloated right now! It's exciting your scan is already booked in! Mine isn't maybe she will do that at the booking appointment in two weeks x

Kliz92 · 21/07/2020 16:54

@SmileyT i cant wait for my scan, im still waiting for my midwife appointment first. Hopfully ill get it through soon 🤞🤞 xxx

Bl0ndi3 · 21/07/2020 17:39

Anybody thought of baby names yet??

Who am I kidding, of course you have!

Me and OH cannot seem to agree on a boys name which is fine we have PLENTY of time!

We like phoebe for a girl and then I also love Luna, Nora, Hallie, Penelope and Poppy.

SmileyT · 21/07/2020 19:22

@Bl0ndi3 I'm so convinced I'm having a boy, I don't even know what to do with girls so no girls names but quite a few boys we like... definitely narrow it down closer to the time ☺️

@Cocoblue22 haha bet it wasn't funny but I'm just imagining you flooding the car and it's making me chuckle 🤭

@Kliz92 they said that my midwife will call between 7 and 9 weeks to arrange the appt so hopefully it'll be after my scan at 8weeks 🤞

Just got in from seeing my friends 2week old baby, so cute, but bloody huge 😂 so funny because her and my other friend there clearly know I'm pregnant now because she asked me 5 times if I was having Prosecco and I said no I'm fine with some lame excuse 🙈

OP posts:
Bl0ndi3 · 21/07/2020 19:26

@SmileyT I was having a conversation with my best friend yesterday who knows I am TTC (or was woo hoo) and we were talking about babies and pregnancy but obviously I was talking about it as if I weren't and she was like I will just know when you are pregnant I'll be able to see it in your face!

She came round to my house a few days after I found out and she didn't figure it out 😂 so I'm determined to go the whole time til a scan without her clueing up now she's said she will just know!

SmileyT · 21/07/2020 19:55

@Bl0ndi3 last time my friend was like 'why are your boobs so huge' so I wore a loose dress today and thought a new mum wouldn't be knocking back the drinks, I forgot who my friends are 😂 ahh it'll be an even better surprise for your friend when you tell her 🥰🥰
