Currently 37+5 with my first baby. She's due on the 20th :) How's everyone feeling?

I'm suffering a lot with SPD and crazy pelvic pressure, along with bump pain and awful heartburn.

Also @thattravelphotographer I have terrible carpal tunnel. Hands are like claws at night and in the morning and the pain radiates from my finger tips all the way to my elbows. Keep dropping stuff. It’s such a pain, my worst pregnancy symptom in fact! I’ve forgotten what normal hands feel like!
I find a wrist support marginally helps at night but not that much for me...

thattravelphotographer · 07/07/2020 16:09

@birdy1991 yes same, this is by far the worst pregnancy symptom I've had. My hands were so bad last night they kept waking me up, so I'm glad you can relate!

Just come back from my 38 week appointment and being monitored now for pre-eclampsia. Obviously I don't want to have it, but equally a little part of me would be 'happy' if it does show up again next week as then I'd have to be induced. I'm so over being pregnant now - 9 months is suddenly feeling like a very long time!

erised24 · 07/07/2020 17:00

@thattravelphotographer I think it's the same situation for me though my midwife didn't actually mention the words pre-eclampsia. I'm so torn about a possible induction because I feel like I'm not ready but I'm very tired of being pregnant now.

Anyone else finding the end of pregnancy really surreal? Like I cannot fathom that I will have a child in the next few weeks!

I'm due with my first on the 23rd, very nervous but excited. Getting a little impatient now too, and have been hearing "she will come when she's ready" every day for a week Hmmwould love to know when she will be ready, just trying to take my mind of things and resting as much as I can ! I've had no symptoms of labour being near, apart from I feel like my bump has dropped and I get a few sharp pelvic pains now and then...

boymum4 · 08/07/2020 22:12

Hi everyone, I'm not due until the 29th July but I'm booked in for a c section this Friday due to some sudden medical reasons! I'm nervous but so so excited to meet my little boy 😊 glad I saw this thread as I love to see updates of people's babies being born!

Natasha9511 · 09/07/2020 00:56

I’m due the 22nd and have had the exact same issues as you!

TiptopJ · 09/07/2020 01:05

I'm 39+1 and currently sat up in bed because I cant sleep due to the pain in my hands and wrists from carpal tunnel. I've just read apparently cold cabbage leaves can help with excess fluid as well as breast engorgment so I'll try that on hands a feet tomorrow. I think I've hit peak moaning stage now and I'm so ready to give birth!

Natasha9511 · 09/07/2020 01:13

@TiptopJ you’re exactly a week ahead of me, I honestly haven’t stopped whinging. I don’t even care, I’m too hot and there’s an 8lb baby headbutting my urethra 🤣

Grainedesesame · 09/07/2020 01:15

I'm 37 weeks atm and due for an induction at 40 weeks. Sorry that you can't sleep @TiptopJ
I'm on the same boat. I think I'm getting nervous - if not terrified- about the birth. This baby is our first!

TiptopJ · 09/07/2020 01:18

I'm sorry you're suffering too but I'm glad it's not just me Smile
Things I've moaned about just today:

Swollen hands and feet
Stomach too stretched
Pressure on bladder
Too hot
Cant sleep
Cant shave my legs
Cant bend down
Think I've weed myself twice Blush

I'm happy really lol

TiptopJ · 09/07/2020 01:29

This is my second so I'm a bit more relaxed about giving birth. I know it's easy to say but you'll be amazed at how your body copes with giving birth. I'm the biggest wimp out there but somehow mind and body seem to connect and you just focus on what you need to do.

Grainedesesame · 09/07/2020 01:36

Very encouraging to hear @TiptopJ I can definitely relate to that: feeling like a big wimp right now
Do you know if you're having a boy or a girl?

TiptopJ · 09/07/2020 01:42

A little girl this time, what about you?

Grainedesesame · 09/07/2020 01:48

We are having a girl too. Very excited to meet her. Hope she comes before the induction. Do you feel baby is coming soon? When did you have birth with your first?

2020firsttimemum · 09/07/2020 07:55

@TiptopJ haha your list made me laugh this morning! I too have complained about all of the things you mentioned! Oh and now being 6 days over I'll add that to the list lol

Pregnancy is not all that glam huh!
We got this, ladies!

TiptopJ · 09/07/2020 09:56

@Grainedesesame sorry managed to fall asleep for a few hours.

Last time was very straight forward, lost plug in the morning, contractions by afternoon and waters broke at home in the night so really easy to tell. Hoping this one follows similar pattern.

Fingers crossed she comes before induction for you x

erised24 · 09/07/2020 11:01

Got the all clear for pre-eclampsia this morning :D But being sent for my 3rd growth scan.

OP posts:
happygolucky6 · 09/07/2020 11:14

I had my first sweep on Monday, was 2cm dilated stretched to 3cm. 80% effaced.

Yesterday had to go to triage as reduced movements and they could see my body contracting but not strong enough to kick start labour.

I've tried everything 😕😕 she said she could feel my baby's head and could break my waters she's so low. I wish she did then at least my body might react more!

I've lost my plug. This is the worst waiting game I just want to see her now 😕

TiptopJ · 09/07/2020 14:51

Great news about it not being pre eclampsia @erised24 hope growth scan goes well.

I never got to find out if cabbage leaves help with carpal tunnel. Waters broke this morning so hopefully mine will make her appearance today

erised24 · 10/07/2020 11:35

Had my scan and that escalated to being booked in for an induction tomorrow!

OP posts:
Grainedesesame · 10/07/2020 21:17

@TiptopJ @erised24 very exciting. Your babies will be there very soon! Let us know how it goes.

I still have another two weeks before my due date but spending my time thinking that it could be anytime now I'm 38 weeks. Can't wait to meet this baby!

erised24 · 10/07/2020 21:22

@Grainedesesame I shall. I'm currently 38+4 but growth scan today showed baby is big with lots of fluid around her so they want to get her out before she gets any bigger. Have to be tested again for GD tomorrow.

OP posts:
Grainedesesame · 10/07/2020 21:32

@erised24 are you definitely getting an induction tomorrow or do they have to test GD first? How do you feel?

erised24 · 10/07/2020 21:43

@Grainedesesame yep, definitely getting the induction tomorrow at 3pm. Dr said they will do the GD test while I'm there.

I'm quite nervous this evening, I definitely wasn't expecting to be told I'd be having my baby this weekend/early next week! The Dr said she would do it for late next week but they had no slots so she was like "Oh! How about tomorrow?"... definitely was not prepared for that lol, just thought it would be another growth scan and they'd tell me baby was a normal size the same as the other scans.
