Thankfully had my whooping cough jab at my 20wk scan. No luck with flu jab yet but will keep trying..

SnookyPook · 02/10/2020 09:55

Boots and GP were a no-go for flu jab but my antenatal department at the hospital has a stock. Rang up yesterday morning and went in for it a couple of hours later. If any of you are struggling to get it, may be worth checking with your antenatal department as they will have stock specially for pregnant Mums and no-one else 👍🏼

Great tip @SnookyPook

Does anyone have advice on telling siblings? My 3 yo doesn’t know. I still think it’s a bit long for him to wait to actually see the baby but feel like I need to have a plan!

@Onekidnoclue was a bit different with my stepdaughter as she is 10... are there any good children’s book about getting a baby brother or sister? Or being a big brother? Maybe you could get one to read together and then you could talk about what it would be like having a sibling. After a couple of reads and gauging reaction, you could tell him it’s happening and read the books in a more kind of directed way of ‘ooh you can do that’ and ‘you will be able to snuggle baby like that’ etc?

Onekidnoclue · 02/10/2020 12:04

Thanks. We did try talking up how fun babies were but it went a bit wrong when he said they’re not as good as robots Confused

Ahh hello ladies I hope you are all good?!
The thread disappeared off of my ‘I’m on’ and ‘Watching’ but I’ve just seen it on the off change and I’m back XD

SnookyPook · 02/10/2020 15:40

@Onekidnoclue ahaha that’s hilarious... to be fair, he may have a point! 😆

@SkylinesTurnstiles ah welcome back! Yeah I stopped relying on notifications etc and just refresh this page once a day or so to see what new messages appear! How’s it going? I’m 24wks today! 😮😄

footprintsintheslow · 03/10/2020 04:02

@Onekidnoclue robots are pretty cool though. Maybe the new baby could buy him a new robot?

Onekidnoclue · 03/10/2020 10:23

@footprintsintheslow that’s a much better idea than DHs suggestion of wrapping the new baby in tin foil and telling DS he’s a robot.

@Onekidnoclue GrinGrinGrin 😂😂😂

@footprintsintheslow that’s a lovely idea! 👍🏼

Tink2020 · 03/10/2020 11:35

I actually prefer his idea. I might do that myself.

Hey everyone. Hope you're all doing well :)

Has anyone else had their sickness return at 24 weeks? I don't know if its related to indigestion or what but it's awful.

Any ideas?

blueskiesandapples · 05/10/2020 08:09

@ttcchapter1 I'm 24 weeks today and my sickness made a reappearance Wednesday last week in spectacular style. Now I'm back to nausea and having to eat first thing but it's subsiding a bit again.

ttcchapter1 · 05/10/2020 10:01

@blueskiesandapples its so awful isn't it, so glad I'm not the only one! Thought I was going mad.

blueskiesandapples · 05/10/2020 11:30

@ttcchapter1 you're not going mad and yes it is awful! Totally came out of the blue and (TMI) I very nearly did a Jackson Pollock in the ensuite but just made it.

Onekidnoclue · 05/10/2020 14:35

I’m getting it too. Just like a vom kind of lurking at the back of my throat. Haven’t actually been sick, just keep feeling like I have, so lovely! 🥴

@blueskiesandapples 😂😂 awww poor you. Another thing is when i need to pee.. it just comes so suddenly and I'm like bursting! No prior warning or anything.

ttcchapter1 · 05/10/2020 15:33

@Onekidnoclue thats exactly it but friday morning I ended up vomiting really bad. Could see some tiny burst vessels in my face cos of the pressure of it 🤦🏻‍♀️🙄

SnookyPook · 06/10/2020 19:48

@Tink2020 any luck with a dentist yet? Tooth stuff is horrible! 😞

Tink2020 · 06/10/2020 19:53

@SnookyPook luckily the pain went quickly but not managed to get into a nhs dentist. Will have to go private before it gets bad again x

footprintsintheslow · 07/10/2020 01:21

Anyone here have an anterior placenta? I had a scan yesterday and the baby is fine and absolutely massive but my anterior high placenta is now a low one so now a c section is on the cards.

Katerinakaterinaki · 07/10/2020 05:57

I've been getting what I assume is reflux every so often... a tiny sick coming up when lying down. no heart burn.
I hope my nausea from first trimester doesn't come back!

I'm 10 minutes into my 2 hour gestational diabetes test right now - it's routine here in Greece, hope I pass!!

SnookyPook · 07/10/2020 15:38

@Tink2020 glad the pain subsided at least! Good luck finding a dentist!

@footprintsintheslow mine wasn’t anterior so not in the same position. At least they know though so can monitor you appropriately. Will it mean some extra scans?

@Katerinakaterinaki how did it go? They don’t seem to do it here unless you have risk factors so I’ve nothing scheduled. Hopefully all ok!
