@SnookyPook there was a fb made around the 6/7 week mark in the other January group but I didn't want to put a name to my face so early on.

I'm due 14th January, how about you?
This will be my second son 🥰🥰

PollyOaks · 27/09/2020 23:02

I have midwife appointment at 25 weeks, then 28 and then I think it's every 2 weeks I will see her I have been lucky and all my appointments have been face to face so far.
Looking to get my flu jab this week which I usually have anyway since working in a pharmacy. What happened to your sister sounds bad @SharonR88 but did the hospital not tell her what caused that reaction? I have dealt with hundreds of people having it each year and never known of a problem like that so hopefully if you do decide to get it you will have no problems but don't feel pressured into it

PollyOaks · 27/09/2020 23:03

@mumofboys we have the same due date 🥰 I'm also expecting a boy who will be my first

mumsofboys · 28/09/2020 06:28

@PollyOaks right in the middle of the Jan due date! Ds1 was a rather large emcs. Therefor I have a window for this one 1st c section if he is larger again, and 21st is the cut off for section so pressure on the natural birth between those dates 🤣

SnookyPook · 28/09/2020 09:42

@Onekidnoclue it’s pretty poor isn’t it? Thank goodness we are classed as low risk but there could still be important things they miss with such spread out visits. Going to get my hubby to do BP and fundal height once a week from wk24!

SnookyPook · 28/09/2020 09:46

@Opelbow ah thanks for that recommendation! Will deffo check it out!

@mumsofboys I’m due on the 22nd with a little boy who will be my first! ☺️ I completely get not wanting to join a FB group so I early on... I didn’t dare believe it all until the 12wk scan! Would consider it now though if others like the idea! My Sis was on a MumsNet group last year and they are all still friends and doing updates now the little ones are here. ☺️

Tink2020 · 28/09/2020 11:45

I have my next appointment at 24 weeks as I’m a FTM. Will be my second face to face. First was just a blood pressure and weight check x
I had to get a doctors note to reduce my working hours and now work are being funny and suggesting changing my contract to reduced hours. I’m sure they are not allowed to do that as it’s under doctors orders x

mumsofboys · 28/09/2020 13:48

@SnookyPook I'm possibly on the one with your sis then. Also on one from last year (2 under 2!) and we always post updates on a Sunday and are there to chat etc

mumsofboys · 28/09/2020 13:49

@Tink2020 they aren't allowed. You're very protected legally when pregnant. Stand your ground!

Tink2020 · 28/09/2020 13:53

@mumsofboys, thank you I will. I have asked them to speak to HR and to do an Occupational Health referral

SnookyPook · 28/09/2020 13:54

@Tink2020 that sounds very dodgy to me. Maybe call Citizens Advice?

@mumsofboys haha that would be funny! Don’t think that’s her group though. She’s a FTM and it was a pregnancy after loss group I think. Guess there must be lots of different ones out there. That’s lovely you are still in touch with people from your first pregnancy. ☺️

Tink2020 · 28/09/2020 14:00

@SnookyPook, I’m waiting for them to speak to HR first before I take it further. Getting ready to fight it with them. They want me doing 10 hour days when my doctor said half days. It’s only for 5 weeks as I’m on Covid medical suspension from 28 weeks x

mumsofboys · 28/09/2020 16:27

@SnookyPook ah ok. No I imagine there's a fb group for every month. I'll see if I can get the name of the fb group made for January people already so maybe there'd be more Of us on there- although I'm not sure I want to Join yet... was handy in the early days when you're up all hours to have a chat- used to call it the night train lol

mumsofboys · 29/09/2020 12:07

The fb group is usually hidden for
Some reason therefore you can find it.

They've made it visible for 24 hours so this is the window to join

@mumsofboys thanks for that - have just sent a join request ☺️👍🏼

Tink2020 · 29/09/2020 14:17

I’ve joined, thank you x

footprintsintheslow · 29/09/2020 19:16

I've booked my flu jab and whooping cough jabs. My midwife said it's important to get the whooping cough done after 16 weeks to get maximum protection through the placenta to the baby. She said don't wait just go for it.

mumsofboys · 29/09/2020 19:20

@SnookyPook @Tink2020

It was very handy with my first born to have other awake people to chat with 🤣🤪

Tink2020 · 29/09/2020 20:12

They won’t book me in for my flu jab... no space x

footprintsintheslow · 29/09/2020 20:47

@Tink2020 mine was the same, they kept running out but I hit lucky today and I'm booked in for two weeks

mumsofboys · 29/09/2020 21:12

@Tink2020 same here but my nearest boots has them! Try there?

Onekidnoclue · 29/09/2020 21:12

I finally got a space a drive away at a Tesco! Might be worth calling round. My dr said they’ve got nothing for ages.

When I was told they had run out of flu jabs they initially told me to ring in two weeks time.
As it was I was at the surgery the next day so asked about them again and they said 'yes we've had a batch come in, it changes on a daily basis'.

So basically I think it's worth ringing everyday.

My midwife said don't wait for an available flu jab to be available to get the whooping cough jab done. As I was hoping to get it at the same time but she said it's not worth waiting as we lose some of the benefits.

mumsofboys · 30/09/2020 10:36

I've already had whooping cough. Hoping jab has come in for Saturday
