@Kj1010 I highly suggest you take in a notebook and jot the important things down. I made some notes during my phone appointment last Friday and I was glad I did because yesterday I wanted to check something and was already forgetting but had my notes to hand Smile. It is shit partners not being allowed but it’s a pandemic and it’s for the safety of the NHS staff Flowers

MummyShark97 · 23/06/2020 09:57

@peachypetite mine is 15th July so not long in reality but does feel a long time doesn't it!

I think it will feel great to reach that "half way" mark though Smile

MummyShark97 · 23/06/2020 09:57

@ChampooPapi awh wow look at you!!!

ChampooPapi · 23/06/2020 10:00

@MummyShark97 the breasts however in this photo are not my own. God know what's happening to them, I'm not going to dwell 😆

@MummyShark97 I really just hope to be told the baby is healthy. That’s all I want. Then I think I’ll be able to get properly excited.

Hi @kkr168 I had a consultant appointment a couple of weeks ago at 15 weeks. No partners unfortunately. I would take the advice from others on here and take a notebook with you. 20 week scan on 16th July. No partners there either. I feel anxious going on my own too so I sympathise, it's sadly just the way it is at the moment

jojanna · 23/06/2020 10:38

are many people feeling movement? I'm about 19 weeks no, and not felt a thing, and my SIL was going on about how she was feeling all sorts from about 16 weeks. I know she didn't mean to make me feel bad, but now it just keeps ringing through my head. I have a private scan booked for Thursday (so partner can come) ahead of my 20 week scan next week, and I keep worrying that baby won't have made it :(. The midwife sent me a referral form for perinatal MH support after I mentioned feeling sad for a few days... have been sitting on it for a few days to see how I feel. Unfortunately my SIL stirs up a few complicated feelings - she has a 3 year old, and we're just quite different! I'm not really a 'baby' person (although I do want a family) and while her kid is growing up and starting to be a bit more interesting(! not sure how to put it! More fun and communicative anyway!) she also has this nasty habit of just screaming if she doesn't get the attention she's after straight away, but obv to SIL and the grandparents she is the bestest sweetest thing they have ever encountered. So I kinda worry that I'll really hate a lot of the first few months :/ Maybe I just need to spend more time with the women on my side of the family - all of whom say they weren't baby people either!

MummyShark97 · 23/06/2020 10:51

@peachypetite exactly, although we went to find out the gender the best thing for me was hearing the baby is healthy and developing nicely!

PipTed · 23/06/2020 10:53

Have my internal scan (Due to previous lletz treatments) today and starting to feel anxious. Hoping there’s nothing untoward and I can carry baby full term without complications!

Hoping I get to hear heartbeat at least, as a bonus.

@jojanna I think if your SIL has already had a baby, then she will feel Movement Earlier the second time round. So it’s best not to compare to her, as if it’s your first it can happen any time from now to 24 weeks 😊

@ChampooPapi @roro87 Looking lovely ladies, I cannot wait for my bump to appear

Babyhope98 · 23/06/2020 11:33

Lovely bumps ladies 🥰 Here is my bump 17w3d I thought I was feeling movements at 16 weeks but haven’t felt anything recently I’ve been trying to concentrate at night hoping for some reassurance. But I don’t know if I am feeling anything for certain.. the bump and boobs are big so just reassuring myself with that 😄

I am quite jealous of the ladies who are saying they have no appetite; that went for me after 13 weeks I can’t stop eating and not healthy stuff either 🥴

Amyyy1 · 23/06/2020 11:37

Ignore background as we are in the middle of packing and moving house. This is my bump at 17 weeks. I honestly can't wait to have a bigger one is that weird?😅 Love seeing all your cute bumps too!!

EithneBlue · 23/06/2020 11:40

@peachypetite - To be honest I'm torn between looking forward to the 20 week scan and feeling nervous (I have no reason to be nervous, but I think it's normal)! I think I just want it done, you know? When's yours scheduled for?

Babyhope98 · 23/06/2020 11:48

Perhaps I should be grateful but they say you are meant to have more discharge and I have none at all anyone else experiencing the same?

peachypetite · 23/06/2020 11:55

@EithneBlue I know! I think you’re always going to feel anxious before the scans but for different reasons. With the first I had this ridiculous fear that I’d get there and be told I wasn’t pregnant Blush and then of course all the worry about missed miscarriage. I haven’t had anything to think I should be nervous either but it’s human nature to worry and we are of course aware not everybody does get good news at scans so it’s like a defence mechanism to feel cautious. Mine is 10th so doesn’t feel that far away now!

Pinktruffle · 23/06/2020 12:29

I finally managed to speak to my GP about my urine test, turns out I don't have a urine infection but Group B Strep. She said it was nothing to worry about and that I would need antibiotics before the birth as it can be dangerous if passed on the the baby during birth.

I tried not to Google but I did and now I'm quite worried...

EithneBlue · 23/06/2020 13:29

@peachypetite - I think I'm actually still afraid that I'll go and be told that I'm imagining things and I'm not pregnant Blush -- mine is on 8th so only a couple of days before yours. I'm optimistically hoping that today's announcement of changes to social distancing means that partners can come to scans: fingers crossed - it would make my husband's day if he could come.

@pinktruffle - It's very common to carry it (even though the NHS don't screen for it) and because you know about it means they can do lots to mitigate the risk :-) I had a look at the RCOG website and they quote this: "These antibiotics reduce the risk of your baby developing a GBS infection in their first week of life from around 1 in 400 to 1 in 4000." -- it might impact your choice of birth location depending on your trust so maybe just check that with your midwife? :)

ChampooPapi · 23/06/2020 13:35

@Pinktruffle yes I can totally understand the worry. I was going to pay for the strep test a few weeks before I'm due as it's not routinely offered. So I think that because it's been picked up that you are in very good hands, the fact they have tested Means you will be monitored and your baby will be safe from any kind of transfer infection once born. It comes and goes so it's likely you will be tested throughout? I'm not really sure as so many women don't get tested and have to pay privately, though it's only about 40 pounds I think. How are you feeling within yourself? It is a worry you could live without, but once strep is on your notes they will be very careful about it as regards your labour and your newborn 🤗
