Hi, I'm looking at getting a nursery chair (ideally with a footstool too) for all those sleepless nights! Does anyone have one they would recommend please?

I bought this one recently and it’s amazing!

We have this - baby isn't here yet, but I often find DH sat in the nursery on it during the day as he's WFH and apparently it's the comfiest seat in the house..

I went with this one : www.johnlewis.com/kub-chatsworth-glider-nursing-chair-and-foot-stool-grey/p3167411

I LOVE it and have been using it for 14 months .

MichelleOR84 · 13/06/2020 12:17

Actually 16 months 😂 ( time flies )

toastandmoretoast · 13/06/2020 15:52

I just recently ordered mine. After ages of being set on one from Marks and Spencer I decided it was just too expensive even with discount so had a quick Google and found a great one from Tutti Bambini which has just came out. It rocks and comes in 2 colours- I went with Pebble Grey.

Had this IKEA chair been around when I'd had mine, this is what I would have bought. It would then go elsewhere in the house when they didn't need it anymore.

I got the one from smyths toy store best thing I bought so comfy even the husband who said it would be a waste of money uses it daily. Comes with the foot rest to. Wish I’d bought it when I’d had my previous 2. Xx

WaitingForSeptember · 13/06/2020 18:09

Tbh I wouldn't bother buying one yet. The baby will be in your room for at least 6 months so you'll be feeding them in bed. & then they may be amazing sleepers who don't need night feeds by the time they go into their room (fingers crossed).

FizzingWhizzbee123 · 14/06/2020 00:09

We have a rocking nursing chair with footstool. This was my biggest waste of money EVER! It was so same uncomfortable, I never breastfed the baby in it. We only really used it for bedtime stories and, later on, some bottles. Would have been far better off buying a comfy arm chair. I know several other people who bought and hated their nursing chairs. Honestly, just buy a comfy armchair instead.

Clemmie83 · 14/06/2020 06:08

How necessary do you think a footstool is? The one I like doesn't come with one...

I’ve got my eye on the Ikea one too. I thought it would be good to keep around in the room afterwards too. It’s £199 and comes in different colours. I like it because it has a high back too. And it has a matching stool (sold separately)

I have an IKEA Poang but in retrospect would have preferred something more upright. I do like the fact that it bounces/rocks a bit though.

MrsP87 · 27/07/2020 09:36

Hey, how have you found this chair? I’m thinking about ordering one. Thanks :)

mrs87 · 27/07/2020 11:51

We also have an IKEA Poang chair. Didn't want to spend hundreds on something we weren't sure how much use it'd get - plus we already had it 😂 As a PP says it's nice that you can bounce/rock slightly in it but could do with being a bit less reclined. Bargain though!

scotgal99 · 27/07/2020 13:44

I’ve gone with this one from MADE. We can use it in the room when she moves out of the nursery into her bigger room.

The ones in Mamas & Papas are beautiful but we couldn’t justify spending £500 on a rocking chair.

Did you get the smyths toys chair & do you rate it well as it’s the one I have been thinking about getting x @Clemmie83

Clemmie83 · 04/08/2020 18:36

@Kellgee Yes I've ordered it but it's not arriving until October, I found a great deal on bounty to get it for £189 instead of the £249 on Symths!

Kellgee · 04/08/2020 19:19

@Clemmie83 I have seen that same deal but thinking I will need it before October as I’m due any day 😂 (plus I’m impatient). I was hoping someone would be able to give me an honest review before I placed the order x

LauraT83 · 22/08/2020 07:51

@toastandmoretoast I’m thinking of buying the Tutti Bambini Noah chair - how are you finding it? Is the quality / comfort any good?

peachypetite · 22/08/2020 07:54

I would check out fb marketplace etc. Few of my friends barely used theirs and one just got herself a real bargain second hand.

toastandmoretoast · 22/08/2020 09:08

@LauraT83 yeah it's a good quality, sturdy chair. Defo worth the money. Very roomy and looks nice in baby's room too since it's a neutral grey. Only thing I would say is it takes up a lot of space as it's a big chair and if you're short like me get the pouffe to go with. I didn't but want to get it so I can rock without feeling like I'm stretching myself out lol.

LauraT83 · 23/08/2020 13:57

@toastandmoretoast Thanks so much for replying so quickly - that sounds perfect! I can’t find any seat height measurements online - does the back come up high enough to support your head much?

LauraT83 · 23/08/2020 13:59

Although I’ve just realised it sounds like I’m taller than you anyway 🤦🏼‍♀️ (I have baby brain already...)

00sez · 13/10/2020 14:54

Did anyone go ahead and order the Noah rocking chair? I was looking at that but worried it isn’t high enough to support my head when feeding.
