I’m only early on but after 2.5 years of trying my mind is now in overdrive so to pass the time and stop myself from window shopping online I want to know your necessities/general things you want for your babies?
My son is nearly 7 and I feel like I’ve forgotten everything!

This list is very personal but:
Bedsharing cot (we converted a normal cotbed)
Cloth nappies (newborn cloth nappies are utterly adorable, and before they are eating solids you can just throw the whole nappy into the washing machine so very easy)
Bamboo velour wipes and an electric wipes warmer (much nicer for newborns than cold wipes and much easier to clean with)
Large Muslims for swaddling/catching sick/using as changing mats/summer blanket/extra bkanket in winter, as an extra sheet in cot, as a sheet in pram etc etc Aden and Anaïs big ones and Cuski ones were my favourite
A sling, a Close parent stretchy carrier is the easiest for newborns, just pop it on like a t-shirt.
A pram with a carrycot that doubles as a Moses basket. This meant I could walk baby to sleep for naps and wheel it into the house, and also could take their bed everywhere holidays/camping/older DC's parties etc
Haakaa breast pump. I never could get any milk from electric or manual ones but did from these.
Mam dummies
White noise machine
Baby monitors, one with a built in light show is good when they get bigger
Gap socks (only ones that stay on imo)
Sleepsuits with zips! Soooo much less faff than poppers in the dark or after baths when you are hurrying. TU sometimes have them, Gap, Old Navy, Carter's and Bonds.
H&M bodysuits
Swaddle Up swaddle sacks.

Hey hun I'm in the same boat, a son who will nearly be 7 by time little one comes!

I've been using the shopping list on the bounty app as a rough guide for things to buy x

Dixywitch19 · 08/06/2020 12:32

@cherryrainbow that’s a good idea!
I don’t want to buy loads of stuff that isn’t necessary (like I absolutely did with my first ha)

This one is due on the same due date I was given for my son as well which is so strange. I hope they don’t come on his birthday 🤣

oh, and I would recommend joining the emmas diary baby club. You get loads of freebies (including vouchers) which were really useful to me. Don't provide a phone number as the constant texts/phone calls are annoying, but provide an email address instead. all the best x

Dixywitch19 · 08/06/2020 13:54

Ooo I will thank you!

Top tip of your be joining baby clubs, set up a separate email account so you don't end up spamed

Dixywitch19 · 08/06/2020 15:24
