When does morning sickness usually start?

Just that really. I’m dreading the sickness but can’t temper when it started. I’m 5+1 and ok so far but I know it’s on it’s way. Do others remember at what point theirs started?

I mean can’t remember! Not temper. Sorry.

I think it was about 8 weeks that it started for me this time.

SoupDragon · 30/05/2020 07:50

I don't think there is any "usually". Mine never started!

LittleBoyJuly2020 · 30/05/2020 07:51

Just before 7 weeks for me. I felt great at 5-6 weeks Hmm

RunnerGirl123 · 30/05/2020 07:52

Mine started just before 6 weeks I think, but was quite mild. Disappeared fir a few days at 9 weeks and then came back!

Remember every pregnancy is different so try not to compare too much with others or any previous pregnancies.

Mumtoone39 · 30/05/2020 08:06

6 weeks for me, you could set you clock by it. Much sicker this second pregnancy though. Many if my friends have had no sickness at all

userabcname · 30/05/2020 08:07

Dc1 - nausea started at 7w. Vomiting started at 8w. Ended up with HG so it lasted the whole flipping pregnancy, although vomiting eased in the 3rd trimester.
Dc2 - nausea started at 6w. Started throwing up around then too. Wasn't as bad as the first time, was sick about twice a day until 16w when it went away and I was fine for the rest of the pregnancy.

Chicken123 · 30/05/2020 08:08

I’m 4 weeks today and have had terrible nausea for the past 3 days. It’s been so bad it’s woken me up during the night. I ended up getting up at 2am this morning because I just couldn’t get comfy.
Tried to be sick but just gagging.
I feel awful x

OrangeGinLemonFanta · 30/05/2020 08:10

I was sick as a dog from very early days with DD. When I got pregnant with DS I was never sick or even queasy. I got a few bad headaches in the first trimester with him, but it was baking hot and I was exhausted from non sleeping DD.

Lovelostnfoundx · 30/05/2020 08:13

9 weeks for me. Thought I’d gotten away with it!

VerbenaGirl · 30/05/2020 08:16

Bang on 7 weeks for me.

sweetheartyparty · 30/05/2020 08:17

6-7 weeks

Hedgehogblues · 30/05/2020 08:21

Mine started before I knew I was pregnant

Boringnamechanging · 30/05/2020 08:34

I threw up after making my morning coffee 4 days before my period was due in all 4 pregnancies. It's how I know to test (well to be honest the test is a confirmation)

Boringnamechanging · 30/05/2020 08:35

I have dreadful morning sickness though

Anaesthetist83 · 30/05/2020 08:37

Mine started 5 days after transferring embryo back (IVF) - knew I was pregnant. Was less if morning and more of all day until about 18 weeks. Now 27 weeks and is pretty much just first thing in the morning still

Bekka94 · 30/05/2020 20:57

No sickness at all now 25 week

zhivagodr · 30/05/2020 21:17

6 weeks and I still have at 11+2. Been put on cyclizine but not sure if it’s making any difference tbh

Dollywilde · 30/05/2020 21:21

Nausea started at week 8 but was gone by week 14, and I was never properly sick - some people get lucky. My mum wasn’t sick in either of her two pregnancies so I think I take after her - they say sometimes it’s hereditary?

Dollywilde · 30/05/2020 21:21

If it’s any consolation I have had dreadful sciatica and heartburn throughout...

PastaBolognaise · 30/05/2020 21:24

@dollywilde a Utica is my other great worry as I had awful life charmingly bad sciatica leading to disc surgery. When did your sciatica start? Has anything helped?

PastaBolognaise · 30/05/2020 21:25

Life charmingly? I wish. Life changingly. If that’s a word.

Exactly 6 weeks for me. Like a light switch, half way through a meal in a cafe.

Lasted until about 26 weeks.. a brief respite of being able to eat fully again, and then at 29 weeks a gestational diabetes diagnosis Hmm

butterfly0701 · 30/05/2020 21:31

Bang on 5 weeks for me, was so sick I am on anti sickness tablets now to try and manage it a little better, it's my first and I genuinely wasn't expecting the sickness to be all day and constant! Every pregnancy is different though, a few of my friends had no sickness at all and breezed through

walkingchuckydoll · 30/05/2020 21:31

Last pregnancy I went from nothing till at 8+4 I woke up and threw up. This pregnancy was more of a gradual building nausea, and started earlier but was more manageable.
