When does morning sickness usually start?

Just that really. I’m dreading the sickness but can’t temper when it started. I’m 5+1 and ok so far but I know it’s on it’s way. Do others remember at what point theirs started?

Started at 6 weeks, still going strong at 16 weeks.

PlantPottingPlantPotting · 30/05/2020 21:33

Mine was 4 weeks to 22weeks

Dollywilde · 30/05/2020 21:33

Ooh ouch, it sounds like you’ve really suffered with it Sad mine kicked around the start of the second trimester. I’ve been doing daily yoga (yoga instructor did me some instructions pre lockdown which I’ve kept up and I’ve done lots of Zoom classes). Weeks 14 - 18 or so were hard, it eased up a bit after that but seems to be coming back with a vengeance now! I’m currently 30 weeks and suspect it’s here for the duration as it’ll be the baby’s weight at this point.. just trying to do lots of stretching and and as much gentle exercise as I can!

I remember posting on here at 4+4 because I was feeling sick already and was worried it was either twins or HG (neither as it turns out). It lasted throughout my pregnancy, although it got much better in the third trimester. Started throwing up the morning of the 12-week scan and the last time was at 35 weeks...

Topseyt · 30/05/2020 21:42

I'm relieved to say that I never had it with any of my three DDs. You might be lucky.

DressingGown87 · 30/05/2020 21:42

I’m 19 weeks and (so far) haven’t had any morning sickness or nausea. So think it’s different for everybody.

NoParticularPattern · 30/05/2020 21:46

6-14 weeks is always killer for me. Fine after that until you’re huge and exhausted though.

daisypond · 30/05/2020 21:47

I never had it. I had three DC.

Theyweretheworstoftimes · 30/05/2020 21:49

6 weeks until 5 hours after I gave birth. I was so sick I couldn't walk and was hospitalised. I had HG. My teeth are knackered.

Prettylittlelady · 30/05/2020 21:54

@PastaBolognaise mine started at 9 weeks - just a little bit here and there. Then it went. Then, it came back at around 15 weeks and I threw up more then than I had at all at the start but really I’ve only been since probably 15 times in total and now at 20 weeks it seems to have gone.
Just because you had it in a previous pregnancy doesn’t mean this one will be the same you might not get sick at all!

whatswithtodaytoday · 30/05/2020 21:57

Mine was 6 weeks, but I felt weird at 5 weeks - a bit dizzy, didn't want to eat, had a vague stomach ache. Then I felt sick from week 6 to 19 😭 though it did ease at around 14 weeks. But I know loads of people who didn't feel sick at all, or only had a few days of it.

whatswithtodaytoday · 30/05/2020 22:01

Oh and mine was rarely actually morning sickness - it was all day, triggered by smells, and worse in the evening when I was tired. Friday evenings I just lay on the sofa feeling like death.

firstimemamma · 30/05/2020 22:03

I never got it.

Not trying to sound smug but just to offer a fresh perspective. I remember worrying that something might've been wrong because I wasn't feeling sick. Sounds stupid written down like that but I was so conditioned to believe it was an inevitable and normal part of a healthy pregnancy. No-one had ever mentioned to me that I might not get it so I wasn't prepared. Morning sickness affects around 80% of women.

Helloagain20 · 30/05/2020 22:20

Ds1 nauseous from 6 weeks vomiting from 7 weeks,
Dt nauseous from 4 weeks and vomiting from 5.
Unfortunately it never stopped till I gave birth both times.

RoseGoldEagle · 31/05/2020 12:27

7 weeks for my first. Got less bad better with each pregnancy though

RoseGoldEagle · 31/05/2020 12:28

Ignore the ‘better’! Just got less bad with...

Sonny124 · 01/06/2020 14:51

Has anyone got any good stories of nausea starting early on and then managing to go away?

I keep reading about all this sickness lasting throughout the entire pregnancy and it’s making me nervous.

I starting feeling nauseous before I tested and it’s just got gradually worse. I’m now 6 weeks and feel nauseous 24/7. I’m on anti sickness (which do not seem to be helping).

I know it sounds awful but I dread the thought of feeling like this for the next 7months

DramaAlpaca · 01/06/2020 14:55

It's years ago but it was so horrible I remember it like it was yesterday.

DS1 started at 9 weeks
DS2 started at 12 weeks, the minute I weaned DS1 off breastfeeding
DS3 started around 5 weeks

With all of them it didn't finally go away until after 20 weeks. I knew after DS3 I couldn't go through it again.

Pleasenodont · 01/06/2020 16:59

5-6 weeks for me and didn’t disappear until 16 weeks with one pregnancy and 20 weeks with another Sad.

Rosebel · 01/06/2020 19:53

Week 6 to 7 for me. Never had it with my other two. Think it eased at about 18 weeks.

RaN88 · 04/06/2020 19:16

Week 7 for me. It's mainly after a meal, normally the evening. It's like constant motion of car sickness for me without vomiting. Quick or sudden movements turn my stomach. Everything smells disgusting to me right now and my food cannot be consumed hot, has to be cold and yellow coloured!! But embracing because I'm sure it means all is well :-) I'm 9 weeks today.

Gallacia · 04/06/2020 20:15

I'm 4 weeks and I've had morning sickness for the past 4 days

I never had it during my first pregnancy
