Hi all. Is it worth paying £121.55 for the online NCT basic course? My partner will probably be unable to attend due to work constraints so it would be only me.
I'm readying books on pregnancy and children development, also do my online research and talk with friends about their experiences.
Will the midwife not cover what the NCT course covers?

I’m halfway through a virtual NCT course and am optimistic that I will be friends with the other couples on the course - we’ve got a seperate whatsapp group that we’re chatting on throughout the day and they seem like a good bunch ☺️

From a content point of view, I think it depends on how much reading you’ve done yourself, but it’s useful to bounce opinions off other people or to ask specific questions. I would say our instructor is quite negative and dismissive about all medical interventions and as a HCP myself, I’ve had to bite my tongue a few times when she’s suggesting the medical team have ulterior motives rather than just wanting to get baby out safely! Saying that, it’s also good that she’s making people aware that you’re allowed to question medical decisions.

Anyway, I’m rambling but I joined NCT primarily to make friends and although it’s virtual, I think that we will continue to be in contact after the course has ended
