@sel2223 fingers crossed paracetamol helps shift it and all is okay! 🤞🤞

squashie34 · 30/05/2020 23:36

@sel2223 this sounds like round ligament pain.. I had it about 2 weeks ago and ended up in the labour triage convinced I was in early labour because it was so so bad I couldn't even stand up straight! It lasted about 3 hours and some paracetamol/ laying on my left side for it to feel any better, then the next day it felt bruised, like when you've done a workout and that part of your body aches! I did do a longer walk that day. I couldn't believe for ligament pain how painful it was, I had to use my breathing 😅 what will labour feel like?!

However if it doesn't ease off please go and get checked just so they can doubly confirm it's that and put your mind at rest!

squashie34 · 30/05/2020 23:39

@Firstmummytobe sorry to hear you've been through a rough few days! Try to think of your daily ctg monitoring as your half an hour hearing that amazing heartbeat and being 1:1 with your baby.. a lovely little thing. It sounds great that they are on top of things which is brilliant but it must be strange going to no movement at all. Keep us all updated! X

Firstmummytobe · 30/05/2020 23:50

Thankyou to everybody for your kind words, not much movement still except a big swish from the left side of my tummy right to the other!! He’s head engaged back facing so maybe his position could be causing the reduced movement but you never know.
I’m from Liverpool and I’m attending Ormskirk hospital if anybody here is familiar with the area.
The BEST antenatal care around, it’s amazing how reassured you are as soon as you hear that little heart beat!!!

Glad to see a few of you from the old thread!! If feels like years ago when our previous thread started we’ve came so far!

Lots of love, I shall keep you updated.

sel2223 · 31/05/2020 05:36

Just a little update. I am currently on MAU being monitored. Paracetamol didn't touch pain unfortunately so I've been up most of the night. Rang them again at 4am and they advised me to come in just to be sure it's nothing more sinister.
Not sure what it is but they said round ligament pain shouldn't be a constant pain lasting this long. They think maybe kidney/uti related but they're really not sure.
Baby is fine though so that's the main thing.

Newmama29 · 31/05/2020 05:53

@sel2223 how are things? As long as baby & you are ok is the main thing! Funnily enough I’ve now had this stitch like pain in my right side most of the night 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m convinced mines is ligament pain though as it eases & flares in sharp bouts, unless that could be labour? 😂

Firstmummytobe · 31/05/2020 08:37

@sel2223 sorry to hear your in the hospital!
Keep us all updated as long as you and baby are fine.

Still no movement the whole way through the night I’m so worried but got my daily ctg appointment at 11 so as soon as I hear that heart beat I’ll be fine.

2020Aug · 31/05/2020 08:50

Hope everything is ok @sel2223 and the pain eases soon 🤞.

Also hope everything is ok for your ctg @Firstmummytobe, it sounds like its been a very stressful time.

Firstmummytobe · 31/05/2020 08:53

@2020Aug it’s a horrible feeling, it’s draining and heartbreaking I can’t sleep with the nightmares of losing him :(
I might just call my triage unit and see wether I can go in a little earlier

sel2223 · 31/05/2020 09:03

Can you believe it.....I've got bloody appendicitis!!
Being admitted to ward now and waiting for surgeon to come and discuss options.

@Firstmummytobe hope all OK today and you are reassured by that heartbeat

2020Aug · 31/05/2020 09:06

Oh no @sel2223, definitely a good thing you went in.

Sounds like a good idea @Firstmummytobe to try to go in earlier if you're worrying.

Luna321 · 31/05/2020 09:19

@sel2223 oh wow at least you've got answers now.

@Beau2020 have you had any luck with the exercises? I've been doing them at least 3 times a day since weds and this baby doesn't even move in the slightest 🙈 I'll keep trying. in that YouTube video she said it took her baby 10 days to move.

mable88 · 31/05/2020 09:58

@sel2223 oh no you poor thing! Sad good job you went in though, at least you’re in the right place now to get it sorted. Xx Flowers

@Firstmummytobe good idea to see if you can go in earlier, let us know how you get on xx Flowers

Superscientist · 31/05/2020 10:49

I'm sorry to hear you have appendicitis, that's awful, at least you got checked out and are in the right place now.

Sorry this is from the last page, I didn't manage to make it back yesterday.
I think I have decided my pain is muscular, it feels a bit like the day after a work out and is consistent so I don't think it's braxton hicks or ligament pains. It seems to coinscide with where she is lay/pushing out. I guess she just wants a bit more room than she has. I'm trying to be a bit kinder on my stomach muscles and that seems to be helping.

StephD2020 · 31/05/2020 11:01

Morning ladies, hope everyone is doing ok? Sorry for the absence, long story short elderly FIL has dementia and has started wandering late at night looking for DH's mum who died 30 years ago. All a bit tragic so been tied up with that. Especially complex given social distancing etc!

@sel2223 so lucky you caught that when you did and it hadn't burst or anything else more sinister. Get well soon hun.

Glad to see everyone is now all on the same thread and I don't have to keep watching two 😊

Well last night was fun for me - up until 4:30am with CHRONIC acid reflux. Ended up sinking half a bottle of gaviscon while waiting for the esomeprazole to work - bloody nightmare! Anyone else the same? X

Newmama29 · 31/05/2020 11:42

@sel2223 oh no!! I’m so glad you went to get checked out!

@firstmummytobe good luck with your ctg, hopefully all is ok. It’s good that you are getting the best antenatal care, especially as how many people’s care has suffered through this covid.

heroineinahalfshell · 31/05/2020 12:27

@sel2223 so good you took yourself to get checked out! Thinking of you and hope they get you sorted soon.

@firstmummytobe I'm also feeling very little movement (although for me that's consistent). It's so worrying but when I had my 28w appt the midwife reckoned she was lying transverse and facing my back, so if she is kicking I just can't feel it. I feel swishing movements early in the AM/late in PM (basically when I wake up and when I go to sleep) and that's it. I'm not that far from you - Manchester/Bolton area - and agree the midwife care has been amazing. Glad they're keeping a close eye on you.

Is anyone thinking of doing a private scan now that restrictions are lifting a bit? DH missed the 20w scan, and with her being so quiet and also transverse I'd like the reassurance of a scan in a couple of weeks to check her position. Would also quite like another gender confirmation as the sonographer wasn't 100% at the 20w and I was reading the post on here about all the women who were told they were having a girl and ended up with a boy! I wouldn't mind either way but it would be useful to know for sure as my mum has already started sending quite girly outfits, lol.

Oldestchild90s · 31/05/2020 12:51

@sel2223 Cannot believe it, appendicitis omg! Glad you're ok and getting sorted ❤️

@StephD2020 Sorry to hear you have reflux so bad, i seem to get it after every meal where i'm sick in my mouth it's gross. The gaviscon is always at the ready 😀

Newmama29 · 31/05/2020 12:59

@heroineinahalfshell I am absolutely desperate for a 4D scan Sad I had planned to get one before all this but now most private places aren’t doing them & are only doing their reassurance ones.

@heroineinahalfshell yea my DH wasn't allowed into the 20w scan too so have been considering booking a private one. Might book one as a gift for father's day if I can find one.

@Oldestchild90s I've always suffered with acid reflux since I was a kid so used to use diet and exercise to manage it. But I'm guessing this little lady is using my stomach as a kicking/punching bag now and as such I get the joy of acid kickbacks every 2-3 minutes. All I can say is thank god for Nexium! Although the midwife did say not to take it every day - might have to check in with her Monday week as I reckon I'm going to start needing it daily soon.

31 weeks today for me - so pleased to be on the single digit countdown!

cannotmakemymindup · 31/05/2020 13:37

Just catching up here ladies! Oh my goodness @sel2223 Appendicitis. At least you are there being looked after. I had friend who had this and I think they treated it with hospital stays, strong antibiotics and close monitoring throughout the remainder of her pregnancy. If I remember correctly they didn't remove it and I don't think it has bothered her since.

Sorry to those who were on the previous thread and hadn't seen this one until now. We set it up as the other one was nearly full. We're a chatty bunch here.

@sel2223 thank goodness you went in. I hope everything is going ok, really feel for you.

@StephD2020 - I also feel for you! Reflux is miserable, I can't seem to work out a pattern/which food to avoid. Hope you get some relief soon.

cannotmakemymindup · 31/05/2020 13:45

@Firstmummytobe really hope your ctg went well today to. It must be really difficult to have the uncertainty often.

Thank you to everyone sending good wishes! I ummed and ahhed about being a bother for hours but very pleased I trusted my instinct that something was wrong.

@cannotmakemymindup that seems to be the plan here too....surgery is an absolute last resort. I'm currently on the ward getting antibiotics through an iv, regular blood tests etc. Been told I'll be here a couple of days at least being monitired then they'll come up with a 'plan' for after that.
