It's making me laugh how crazy we all are over movements. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Camia · 29/05/2020 23:30

@JMill13 We're all anxious and stuck without enough to do besides overthink, apparently lol

cannotmakemymindup · 29/05/2020 23:58

Yes I can't tell if more anxious because it is such a weird time to be pregnant or ic I'd be worrying same or even more if the world was a little more normal!

I've noticed I'm more anxious on days I'm not doing much, as opposed to during the week when I'm busy working (albeit at home) so I do wonder if its the case for me.
I think my baby is now in some sort of pattern 🤞 for a couple of weeks they seem most active around 9PM and around 6am which has been even more noticeable this last week. They also get the hiccups about 5am everyday (I know this isn't movement but so cute)!
I'm getting more nudges and baby stretching limbs out now rather than full on kicks. Did get a good boot yesterday and it took my breath away!
How is everyone feeling?

Beau2020 · 30/05/2020 08:16

@2020Aug me too!! The kicks were really painful a few weeks ago but now they're bearable and feel nice, a lot more smaller movements (more rolls and stretches like you say)

& I usually feel her at all times there's honestly not a time where I don't feel her ive definitely noticed she's most active at around 8pm until 2am and then again starts at 6am until I get up. And I've noticed she moves more when I'm in water or direct sunlight or just whenever I eat something xx

squashie34 · 30/05/2020 08:19

@2020Aug glad you think you've got a pattern now, that should help you know what's normal for you! Can you send some vibes for mine to find herself a pattern please 😅

I think we are all hugely anxious because the world is such an uncertain place at the minute, along with the complete lack of control that comes with pregnancy. Add that to being shut in the house for almost 3 months now and knowing it's a risk to go out I think it's natural! We have nothing to occupy our minds now except these bloody kicks 🙈

I was telling my Mum about it and she said when she had me there was nothing really out there about all the things that could go wrong unless you had a problem and went to hospital so it wasn't possible to worry as you didn't know what there was to be worrying about! I do think the internet is fabulous for information about many things but also think it keeps us a bit too informed aswell- the minute we feel something abnormal or different we google and then our brains sees the worst outcome and it's a huge spiral. Well I know it is for me anyway. Take the other day, id always thought movement is a good thing so more movement is great- little one has a mad half an hour so I thought I'd google it. Next minute I'm in a huge panic that the cord is round her neck and she's trying to untangle herself!

We are all doing the best we can and I'm so thankful for you all to talk to on here given the situation! ❤️

JMill13 · 30/05/2020 09:12

@camia so it would seem.it's nice knowing you're not the only one.

My little one was going crazy kicking last night about half 10 for ages, as soon as boyfriend put his hand on my belly it stopped, he was fuming 'cause its literally every time he wants to feel all movement stops 😂 poor man, I feel so bad but can't not laugh at the same time.

JMill13 · 30/05/2020 09:14

@squashie34 oh and yeah Google is not our friend. It's like anything, Google about gums bleeding next thing you're down the rabbit hole thinking you've got mouth cancer or something (happened my friend last year, turns out all it was was that she was run down after being sick with a cold)

Superscientist · 30/05/2020 10:02

@JMill13 we had the same for a while and at night we in bed she wouldn't start moving until the moment he went to sleep. Shes been a bit more cooperative recently.

The kicks are getting bigger there are some occasions when I can almost grab a tiny dolls sized foot just before it shifts under my ribs...

The last day or so I have started to get a tightening/slight pain down the middle of my bump - in line with my belly button. Is anyone else getting this? I'm worried it's my stomach muscles moving so apart and that by the end I'll have a huge separation! Tell me it's normal and I'm being silly or not?!

Newmama29 · 30/05/2020 10:05

@JMill13 my little one does this too! As soon as anyone tries to feel him move he stops, despite trying to break out seconds beforehand! I’m definitely going to have a stubborn boy on my hands haha

squashie34 · 30/05/2020 10:12

@Superscientist you can see a foot?! That's the coolest thing ever.. I've heard about being able to make up actual limbs but I'd love to see it 😍

JMill13 · 30/05/2020 16:38

@superscientist you can see a foot? That's so creepy weird and absolutely cool! I've seen videos of that happening.

JMill13 · 30/05/2020 16:39

@newmama29 haha sounds like we're both going to have stubborn little people 😂

ml01omm · 30/05/2020 17:12

@Superscientist re: tightening in middle of bump near belly button - I've had this. No idea what it is, I did wonder if it was my belly button about to pop, but its still an "inny". My other thought was perhaps it was the baby trying to turn around using his/her feet like they are Zorbing!

MaisieMolly · 30/05/2020 17:35

@Superscientist @ml01omm could it be braxton hicks that you’re experiencing? Don’t think I’ve had it yet but read about it and it said it felt like a tightening?

Camia · 30/05/2020 17:52

@Superscientist That's so cool! I haven't been able to make out any feet or hands but you can definitely see my belly move when he stretches. It's really weird, kinda makes me feel like there's a little alien in there lol

kaxxz · 30/05/2020 19:05

@Superscientist i've experienced tummy tightenings for a few weeks now. It almost feels as though the tummy is grabbing onto something hard. My midwife said they're Braxton Hicks and are only concerning if you experience pain with it.

kaxxz · 30/05/2020 19:06

*severe pain

ml01omm · 30/05/2020 21:04

@MaisieMolly I had no idea off to google

Firstmummytobe · 30/05/2020 21:07

Hi everyone!!
I’m too from the other august thread, but sadly it went really quiet!

I’m 20, first baby (boy) and I’m 31+1 today! Due august 1st.

I’ve had loads of really really strong movements since about 22 weeks, and the past two days have had NO movement whatsoever.

Been to the hospital 5 times because I’m so worried. Have been on the CTG monitor and they said baby is absolutely fine! But his head is really really engaged which means I could be showing signs of early labour but we just have to wait and see.
They have put me on weekly scans and daily CtG’s which means a 30 min trip to the hospital every morning which is a pain.
Has anybody else experienced this?! It’s so worrying I’ve gone from having loads of movement to lying on the couch and feeling nothing it’s so strange :(

No bleeding or cramping though!
Hope everybody is well xxx

sel2223 · 30/05/2020 21:09

Ladies, have any of you experienced stomach pains? Not tightenings as such, more a constant pain?

I've had it for the last 2 hours and it's showing no signs of disappearing. It's quite a sharp pain, very uncomfortable, running across the bottom half of my bump and up the right hand side.

Trying to figure out if it's normal.

It's kind of like a bad stitch but across a larger area.....could be gas i guess? I've had a warm bath, been for a walk,, am currently lying down, drinking water, been to the toilet.

Any ideas?

Newmama29 · 30/05/2020 21:59

@sel2223 could this be ligament pain? I had this early on in my pregnancy & it felt like a stitch! I spent a night in the maternity assessment cause it came on so suddenly & wouldn’t go away. They gave me paracetamol & it eventually eased & they explained that they thought it could be this. Obviously if you are in extreme discomfort I would call your maternity unit, always better to be safe than sorry!

MaisieMolly · 30/05/2020 22:34

@Firstmummytobe hello! I remember you from the other thread. Sorry to hear about what’s happening, that must be so scary for you. I hope it all goes ok for you.

@sel2223 this sounds like it could be Round ligament pain. I get it sometimes but it comes and goes like a stitch and it is more common on the right side. Usually if I get up too quickly or turn over in bed awkwardly. Definitely get it checked out if it’s very painful tho.

I’m starting to feel very big now with my bump, in the last month it’s grown so much. Finding it really hard to eat a full meal without feeling too full. Also getting very hot and uncomfortable at night.

nells3 · 30/05/2020 22:34

Hi @Firstmummytobe , I remember you from the other thread! I was on there too but this one seemed more active so have been lurking over here for a while. Sorry to hear your news, that must be stressful but it sounds like you are getting great care and they are watching you very closely. Sending positive thoughts your way!

@sel2223 I had pain like that last night when I got into bed. It was coming in waves which freaked me out, but I fell asleep anyway so can't have been that bad and not sure how long it went on for. Today I've felt normal. Stretching? Round ligament pain? Who knows! Are you still in pain now? xx

sel2223 · 30/05/2020 22:41

Thanks ladies. It's been constant for about 3 hours now and my lower back is aching too. Thankfully no cramps/blood/fluid etc.
I rang the maternity unit and they took me through a questionnaire then advised paracetamol but if pain doesn't subside in next half hour then I need to go in.
Hopefully it is just round ligament pain as suggested and will ease up soon.
