@StephD2020 the private scan place near me (window to the womb) won't scan after 34 weeks so if you're 31w you might want to get it booked! I'm going to ring them today to check DH can definitely come with me and then book it.

cannotmakemymindup · 31/05/2020 14:08

@sel2223 definitely a reminder to always trust our instincts! Thanks for updating us.

A very busy thread indeed! It's all starting to feel a little bit real for me and yet then again so far away ( I'm due end august/ beginning of September).

So far my GTT came back clear (phew!), I had a midwife appointment last week and got told off about my weight gain so I need to keep an eye on that!

Firstmummytobe · 31/05/2020 15:52

Just a quick update, they’ve admitted me to the maternity ward, baby sadly isn’t meeting the criteria on the ctg machine which means he is sleeping far too often for too long which indicates a problem. Going back on the monitor later on to see how he is doing but the doctors are slightly concerned.

A mother’s instinct is always right! But we will see, im feeling hopeful but still no movement.

Hope you are all well x

DufferedUp · 31/05/2020 15:59

sel2223 - snap! I'm also in hospital with kidney/bladder pain. Been in agony since 3am.

Oldestchild90s · 31/05/2020 16:40

@kersh33 You were told off?! If you don't mind me asking, how much have you gained? I'm really worried about this.. i have put on a hell of a lot!
@Firstmummytobe @DufferedUp Hope you're both ok fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Flutterbunny · 31/05/2020 16:45

Oh goddess, just caught up on everything. So sorry to hear about those in hospital, at least yous are in the right place and hopefully they will have all of you and babys back to full health in no time. Keep us updated. I shall send all the positive thoughts into the Universe for you all 💛

Bert2020 · 31/05/2020 19:19

Wow what a busy weekend at the hospital. Sending positive thoughts for these babies and hoping they all stay put and you are all home soon.

kersh33 · 31/05/2020 19:52

@Oldestchild90s In fairness I'm in France where they seem to be very much more focused on weight gain than in the UK. I've put on over half a stone in the last month, so I've been told to keep my gain for the next month to max 2kg.

Flutterbunny · 31/05/2020 19:57

Have you all had your whooping cough vaccines? I have my 28 week appointment tomorrow and the midwife said I should book in with the doctor to arrange to have it done but I had completely forgotten about it until just now. I’m really dreading having it done because I hate needles but I’ve heard that it’s quite important to have it done? X

StephD2020 · 31/05/2020 20:11

@Flutterbunny yea defo get that jab - baby doesn't have any immunity unless you get it done. The jab is painless (I didn't even know she'd done it) and then after it's just like you've bruised your arm so you might feel it at night when you roll onto your side but that's it. Defo not one to worry about!

@kersh33 good job I'm not in France. I'd defo be told off! After last nights heartburn sesh I'm going to cut right down now - my stomach isn't what it used to be 😫

@Firstmummytobe @dufferedup @sel2223 how are you all getting on? Hope you are doing ok? X

sel2223 · 31/05/2020 20:28

Sorry to others in hospital at the moment too....what is going on? 🙈

I'm ok but will likely be in for several days while they fill me full of antibiotics! It's the boredom getting to me more than anything else and obviously no visitors whatsoever allowed on the ward!

@Flutterbunny my midwife gave me mine at my 28 week appt and it was no problem at all. I didn't even get a sore arm like I did with the flu jab.

cannotmakemymindup · 31/05/2020 20:29

@Flutterbunny I had my vaccination after week 16. I know they prefer if before week 34 I think as it gives the best immunity to the baby.

I agree like @StephD2020 it really didn't hurt, was over quick as a flash. All I had afterwards was a sore arm and a little upset stomach which is one of the possible low risk side effects.

cannotmakemymindup · 31/05/2020 20:32

@sel2223 Maybe someone can drop off books, magazines and the like for to keep yourself occupied with for your hospital stay to starve off the boredom?

Are you on a ward or did you get a private room?

sel2223 · 31/05/2020 20:37

@cannotmakemymindup my sister has already been up with a 'care package' and I have Netflix on my phone thankfully.
I met her outside as she's not allowed in.
I'm on a maternity ward of 4 beds.

ml01omm · 31/05/2020 20:41

catching up on what has been an eventful 24 hours on this thread.

Sending best wishes and good vibes to everyone who is currently in hospital.Hope there are positive outcomes all around.

cannotmakemymindup · 31/05/2020 20:42

Oh that's lovely of her and thank goodness for streaming! But how funny you can leave to do that but she can't visit.
Oh at least that is not a large ward. @sel2223

mamansnet · 31/05/2020 21:18

Hi @kersh33, remember you from another thread!

I've stopped weighing myself for this exact reason. I'm guessing I've put on 10kg but I was already overweight so no idea really. I saw a new osteopath the other day and she says midwives focussing on weight like that gives women a huge complex and risks them not eating correctly. Also some women have more amniotic fluid than others, so weight is all relative/bollocks anyway.

I like this girl!

Given the stress of lockdown, everyone has gained weight. Don't be hard on yourself and eat more chocolate. I lost tons last time via breastfeeding so I'm just not going to let the French mindset get to me!

Flutterbunny · 31/05/2020 21:35

Thank you guys, I am such a worrier!

@sel2223 I’m glad you are being looked after, hopefully you will be out soon - Netflix will help - have you seen the Jeffrey Epstein series? I found it uncomfortable to watch but it’s interesting.

@Firstmummytobe @DufferedUp - I hope you are both ok xx

heroineinahalfshell · 31/05/2020 21:37

I've got the opposite concern about weight gain - I've only gained 9lb in the whole pregnancy! I put it down to eating healthier in lockdown (more cooking from scratch & daily walks, fewer lunchtime meal deals). Midwife hasn't weighed me since my booking in so we haven't discussed it, but I'm going to bring it up at my 31w appointment.

cannotmakemymindup · 31/05/2020 21:47

@heroineinahalfshell did your midwife not measure your bump at 28 weeks to check growth?
