@Bert2020 ahh I see!! The green book is like that for me atm. Nobody wants to see it until they need to see it. I've done a few wasted trips because I didn't have the right notes on me but I never knew it would be so difficult to keep on top of & im pretty organised lol!

Morning ladies there's another virtual baby show on this weekend for anybody who still has things to research and purchase.
I got sent the link via a company that was at the last one a couple of weeks ago.

cuddledry.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a98ee882a1966b1fe6c041da3&id=8a65731113&e=efb9bed243

Hope that works!

@Beau2020 love that challenge. Might try that with OH!
I think the health visitor thing is new in my area as my sister didn't have that a few years ago. I really appreciated it though.
Apparently they now contact you between 28-32 weeks as standard (nornally face to face but obviously by telephone at the minute). She gave me a full rundown of what she's there for, schedule of visits after birth, how to contact her etc and we talked about feeding, safe sleeping, mental health etc.

I also had consultant appt last week and midwife appt this morning so feeling very well looked after at the minute.
I can't really complain about my antenatal care in the North East, I've only had one non essential appt cancelled.

Thanks for the new thread girls! I definitely agree about 3rd trimester hitting hard, the last few days I'm really struggling 😩 Not even 28 weeks until Friday! I am having twins though, and am absolutely huge! 🐳

I definitely agree with omeprazole, I just got it prescribed by the pharmacist about a month ago and it's made a HUGE difference! It's pretty much gone!

@squashie34 my itching has got so much worse the last week - has yours got worse? I don't know how I'll cope for another 10 weeks! My levels seem to be going up each week, but my liver scan was clear at least!

squashie34 · 27/05/2020 14:16

@Beth804 the heat makes the itching so so much worse doesn't it! 🥵😩 and I think the more I itch the more hot and bothered I get! I also had my liver scan too last week which was clear but they did say there's some urine in my right kidney which isn't draining into my bladder. So waiting to hear if anything needs doing about that as I don't want to get an infection! But the sonographer said it can happen in pregnancy because of the weight.

Have you tried a cool oatmeal bath? I think that's amazing! I haven't bought the expensive Aveeno stuff, just some breakfast oatmeal in a sock in the bath. Also putting some cetraban eczema cream in the fridge and it's heaven putting it on!

My levels have actually gone down in this weeks blood tests but itching is worse, not getting my hopes up as they go down one week then up the next 🙄 I hope you get some relief hun!

Beau2020 · 27/05/2020 14:24

Hey @london91 😃

Thanks all, haha!

Yeah the heat is hard, want to enjoy it but my hay fever is giving me trouble so I've been keeping indoors!

cannotmakemymindup · 27/05/2020 14:48

@Beth804 @squashie34 that itching sounds unbearable! I just have permanent hives which I have to take a strong antihistamine for so you have my sympathy! I know the pain and heat that itching can bring.

@Beau2020 the sneezing is ridiculous today I know I will end up with a nosebleed soon if this keeps up.

Think this has been talked about before but my brain is going crazy today and I can't think straight 😂 so apologies. How many basic vests and sleepsuits, has everyone bought or planning to get? I feel like I don't have enough yet (no newborn yet but will order a pack of those today) not knowing gender means literally only buying basics which should be easy but no it's definitely not.

squashie34 · 27/05/2020 15:01

@JMill13 I've bought about 10 newborn vests and 10 0-3 vests. I've mostly bought sleepsuits but I can't help thinking If the weather is like this then surely they won't still need to be in sleepsuits?! Would they be just in a short sleeved body? My grow egg says it's 24 degrees in the living room (we've already plugged it in cause I think it's so clever, how sad am I 🤣)

I'm starting to worry I've bought things that won't be practical for them if the weather is nice like this 😆😆 any ideas anyone?

mable88 · 27/05/2020 15:33

I am having a similar panic, worried that sleep suits will be too hot, if the weather now is anything to go by. I’ve got 10 newborn vests and 6 newborn sleep suits so far. The newborn sleep suits look a similar size to 0-3 months though, so might get away with those (my friend has given me loads and another friend has got some put aside for me too plus some newborn bits as well
I think). My fairy non-bio has arrived and hubby is currently putting together the nursery furniture, so my job for the next couple of days is washing, ironing and putting away!

JMill13 · 27/05/2020 15:42

@squashie34 @mable88 I text my friends with the same meltdown. They both had babies last year (one of which was born in August), they've said I'll go through loads of vests and sleepsuits at the start especially if it's a sick baby. Said usually around 2/3 changes a day but said not to buy too much new born. One of their kids didn't fit newborn at all when born had to go straight into 0-3 and the other friend said she had to run out and buy newborn because her baby was too small for the 0-3s that she had. But they said to buy the smaller sizes when I see them and can always return and swap for bigger sizes if needs be once baby arrives. Although that doesn't give any chance of washing anything before baby arrives and has to wear them so I'm honestly still non the wiser

WorriedButterfly · 27/05/2020 15:55

@JMill13 I feel the same and it makes it harder not knowing the sex. I've had some luck at next for just plain white stuff - it's not very exciting!
It is so hard on the quantities.

Has anyone felt their groin more than normal, I wouldn't say mine is painful just feels a bit like I've over exercised it...

Oldestchild90s · 27/05/2020 16:04

@JMill13 @mable88 @squashie34

I'm having the opposite meltdown, i've been handed so much second hand stuff that i'm worried that i won't use it all and it will go to waste and it makes me really sad! I've already had to vacuum pack lots of stuff for the future and have been sorting through stuff for weeks but it never ends 😭
I DIDN'T EVEN THINK ABOUT THE WEATHER! 😂😭

JMill13 · 27/05/2020 16:04

@worriedbutterfly yeah it's been Nexts plain white stuff I've bought.

I have 1 pack of 5 vests and 1 pack of 3 sleepsuits, in size up to one month. And then the same for 0-3 months. But that doesn't feel like enough to me.

JMill13 · 27/05/2020 16:05

@oldestchild90 you may be able to pass on again though in future, that way it'll not be wasted.

squashie34 · 27/05/2020 17:29

So glad other people are having this worry.. another day another meltdown about something new 😅

So say the weather was like this when they arrive - would they be in a sleepsuit right now or a just a vest? I'm sweating in just a dress but I know it's one layer more than us. However a sleepsuit with feet and mittens seems a lot when it's this humid.

It makes me realise I really do have no bloody clue what I'm doing!! 🤣🙈

JMill13 · 27/05/2020 17:38

@squashie34 hahah I'm the same. No clue whatsoever. I keep thinking to myself how am I supposed to do this if I don't even know what they're supposed to wear. I actually asked my friends if I needed a hat (for baby) even though it'll be August and they said yes always but the hospital gives you a coloured one once baby is born.
