Oh re: gender neutral, I'm trying to avoid pink when I can and I got some really cute yellow & grey sleepsuits from Boots, and fruit motif vests from Next which are white/red/yellow/green.

@mamansnet at the very least I would say check that you have all the pieces for the cot. We had a swinging crib arrive - flatpack - went through the instructions and to check that all the pieces where there. 4 pieces were either missing or as it turned out actually been altered but not shown in the manual so I was glad we've checked. Not putting it up yet but that's more to do with space.

@Beau2020 I cannot imagine having to go back to work so soon after having my baby. That sounds incredibly difficult for you.

Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd give you a quick update on how me and baby are, still in hospital and still have bleeding and tightenings have been getting stronger but waters haven't gone luckily. Little one seems very happy although his heart rate keeps dropping from time to time when my tightenings get stronger.

I'm on Oramorphe, codeine and paracetamol for the pains at the moment but may be allowed home later🙌🏻!

I hope everyone's week has been a little better than mine lol x

squashie34 · 28/05/2020 07:29

@Chez2306 so sorry to hear this! Hope you're doing ok in there and it's good to hear that little one seems happy where they are for the moment! 😁

Have they got any idea on what they think the bleeding could be? How far gone are you now?

Thinking of you x

Chez2306 · 28/05/2020 07:52

@squashie34 thank you so much!

I'm 29 weeks + 4 days! They've no idea where the bleeding came from either and haven't given me much of an answer either.

Worst part about being in the hospital is my ex fiancés sister is here and has just had her child, so ex MIL is telling me all about her and her kid when I honestly don't care at the moment, ex is more excited and concerned about the nephew than his own son but whatever! His lossGrin

Baby is absolutely fine this morning and giving me grief so midwife thinks I could be going home later! X

mable88 · 28/05/2020 08:13

@mamansnet I had the same worry last week when all the nursery furniture started to arrive, had a huge meltdown that I had jinxed everything and we’d never get to use it all. However, I have since got a grip of myself and reasoned that, logically speaking, putting up a cot and changing table now is not going to have an effect on the outcome of my pregnancy! (May have had a stern pep talk from my mum too!!) So yesterday we just went for it and started putting everything together and it was actually a lovely experience and has got me really excited. Smile

@Chez2306 fingers crossed you get home today lovely! Flowers

squashie34 · 28/05/2020 08:46

@Chez2306 he sounds like an absolute A grade 🍆 if you ask me.. you're much better off! As if your ex MIL thinks you want to know that at the minute whilst you're on hospital. You are going a fab job and you are all your little one needs!

@mable88 I have this thought daily when I buy something - am I cursing it?! Even when I was packing my hospital bag with baby clothes I was thinking this is tempting fate and something will go wrong now I've done it. Also accidentally slipped and said her name to my mum the other day and I was in bits thinking I've cursed it now. What makes us feel like that?! I wish I was this excitable mummy rather than a ball of anxiety! 🙄

squashie34 · 28/05/2020 08:46

Apologies for that awful spelling and autocorrect in that message 🙄

mable88 · 28/05/2020 09:54

@squashie34 I don’t know why we think like this!! Personally, I have a history of MC which I don’t think has helped with the anxiety this pregnancy! But also in a way, I think it’s a good thing to have thought through all the possible outcomes, that way I feel my brain is prepared! And the most likely outcome is a healthy and happy baby, just need to focus on that Grin

2020Aug · 28/05/2020 12:10

@Chez2306 glad to hear you and your baby are doing well.

@mable88 Ive noticed I have a meltdown too everytime we do something big for the baby, such as get a big item delivered or start decorating. I get all panicked and start obsessing over reduced movement (even if baby is still moving). I'm hoping I'll be able to pack my hospital bag soon without another meltdown!

Luna321 · 28/05/2020 13:18

I was extremely cautious until 20 weeks when I had the scan, hardly told anyone because I was so paranoid. I was exactly the same the first time. So it's definitely normal.

I had my 28 week appointment yesterday. Was a little deflated when I got seen by yet another midwife I haven't seen before. She was a bit flustered and forgot a few things (like checking the fundal measurements!) but we got there in the end. Baby is currently breech which doesn't fill me with much confidence as my last was exactly the same 🙈 I'm also measuring big so been referred for extra scans. Felt quite down about it all yesterday but need to remember the main thing is baby is happy.

squashie34 · 28/05/2020 14:14

Another day, another random question.. 😅

Is anyone else starting to feel a little bit queasy when baby moves now? She's gone from kicks where I've thought aww cute to what feel like full body rolls and now she's bigger they make me feel a little bit funny!

Also, do you also feel like you might wet yourself when you get a jab to the bladder?!

Bert2020 · 28/05/2020 14:22

I’m the same, we’ve told even less people this time because of the anxiety.

@squashie34 it helps to remind me to do my pelvic floor exercises when he kicks low. The worst is when it feels like they are trying to burrow out. My first used to feel like she was grinding her head on my cervix when she eventually went head down Confused Definitely get queasy when he goes for a big move about.

Newmama29 · 28/05/2020 14:58

@squashie34 I know what you mean! I think he’s lying very low with me & I get the occasional kick in the hips which make me uncomfortable as it’s like a grinding 😬 also the bladder thing! I can literally empty my bladder, then he must kick it or a nerve & it’s an instant desperation to pee 😂

MaisieMolly · 28/05/2020 15:19

Hello! Hoping I can join you all. I am on another August babies thread but it’s gone quiet recently. I’m due a baby girl at the beginning of August, I’m 30 weeks now.
Still feeling generally ok with symptoms, I’m getting much bigger in the bump now though so that might change!!
Hope you are all well and starting to get excited x

kaxxz · 28/05/2020 15:23

Hi guys, hope you are all well

I've officially broken up from work, had two months annual leave to take before Mat leave kicks in in august.

Is anyone else finding the days are dragging, I just want august to come so I can meet the baby lol

squashie34 · 28/05/2020 17:31

Hi @MaisieMolly 👋 we are quite a chatty bunch on here 😆 it's great!

@kaxxz oh I bet it all seems real now that you've finished work?! I agree about the days dragging.. lockdown really doesn't help matters either does it! Does the nesting officially begin now then? 🤭

Beau2020 · 28/05/2020 20:37

@chez2306 oh bless you sweet, glad to hear you're doing ok and I hope bleeding has stopped! I had bleeding at 27 weeks and was so stressed so I know how you must be feeling xx

Is anyone else's baby sitting in breech position currently? I'm doing all kinds of crazy exercises to try and get her to turn lol OH thinks I'm mad!

cannotmakemymindup · 28/05/2020 20:45

@squashie34 Yes to needing to wee if baby decides to headbutt, poke or dance on bladder. I'm certainly glad we never did run out of loo roll!!

There's quite a few of us measuring big at the moment. I wonder how many of us will actually have 'big' babies.

I had results back from my bloods today, no diabetes so I'm happy about that. At least if baby is big it isn't because they got to much sugar from me. However my iron levels have stayed exactly the same, even though I have been taking my iron tablets religiously for three months!! So that's going to be checked again at 36 weeks then decide what to do in consultation with consultant! I laughed though when midwife rung me as I couldn't believe it hadn't altered an iota. Ah well at least it was the nice midwife giving me a call. Really hooe I do see her again!

@maisieMolly welcome aboard the crazy train. We're very talkative, it's awesome and so helpful.

@kaxxz very jealous that you've broken up with work. I'm dying to be done now.

@squashie34 yes to the bladder. Especially in the middle of night as this seems to be my little ones favourite time to be near my bladder. For a dance.

Ahh 28 weeks tomorrow... I swear someone is just erasing days at this point, it does not feel like a week has passed since I said out loud that I was 27 weeks. Still a constant wonder of how I'm going to kick counts from this week when I barely feel any cause I'm generally half asleep at 4am when it happens. Feel like the next 12 weeks are going to be filled with me driving myself and my partner crazy thinking something is wrong. All the tricks people say to use to get baby to move don't seem to work at all. I don't really get any big uncomfortable kicks anymore either. Haven't since about 20 weeks. Is this normal? Don't even know if this makes sense. Very tired.

Camia · 28/05/2020 21:09

Got the call today I passed my glucose test! That was the thing I was most worried about as I have a family history of diabetes so I feel a lot better now.

JMill13 · 28/05/2020 21:10

@cannotmakemymindup also meant to say happy days on the results! Yay to being able to eat sugar 😂. Strange about the iron though. Is there anything you can do to up it?

MaisieMolly · 28/05/2020 21:41

@Beau2020 how do you know if baby is breech? I’m getting lots of movement right up top by my ribs, but it doesn’t feel like kicks or feet, more like back or head!!

Luna321 · 28/05/2020 21:42

@Beau2020 yep got told yesterday that mine is breech. So been trying lots of laying with bum up high 🙈
There's a good YouTube video which shows three different exercises, it's got 1.1m views, I've been trying those out 🤞
