Nothing this morning so I'm hoping all is well. Baby is moving a lot this morning so I think it's okay. I have an appointment with midwife Wednesday so will put it past her as well. I would love to have a crystal ball to tell me everything is going to be okay.

Newmama29 · 22/06/2020 11:11

Is anyone having terrible pelvic/hip pain? The last few days I’ve had gradual worsening pain in my pelvis, like I’ve been riding a bike for hours & hours & feeling all bruised 😬 my hips have been killing me when sleeping & despite using a big pregnancy pillow in between my legs it’s getting worse! Struggling to get up & down & in & out the car now🤦🏼‍♀️ Could this be pelvic girdle pain? & does anyone have any ideas on how to relieve this?

Bert2020 · 22/06/2020 11:43

@Newmama29 I had PGP with my first, I feel your pain it’s awful! Try and keep your knees together when moving, if turning in bed keep your bump to the bed, in a car sit on a carrier bag as it will help you turn. I used to get DH to massage my bum hard, whether it was more pain there taking over from the hip I don’t know but it definitely helped for a while. Your midwife can give you a support belt but they can take a while to come. I also had acupuncture which was amazing but I guess that wouldn’t be possible at the moment. I also found sitting on an exercise ball more comfortable as it spread the weight about more.

Is anyone else suddenly feeling super impatient to meet their baby?! I cannot help wishing it was August already as I am just desperate to meet my little lady. Obviously don't want her to arrive now as that would be a bit too soon! Just had a phone call from the health visitor who was lovely and commented on how prepared I seem to be and I think that's made it worse - I feel very prepared now with very little left to do and just want baby to be here! I know people will tell me to enjoy these last few weeks when I can eat/sleep/pee whenever I want and I will try my best to do that!!

Also, quick straw poll - how many ice lollies is acceptable to eat in one day? Asking for a friend.... Grin

WeeScottishWife · 22/06/2020 11:52

Hi everyone, I think I might have posted once or twice in the old thread, but I've not really been in this one I don't think. My due date is 30th July but since that's so close to the end of the month I figure it could well happen in August instead! I'm currently 34+4, it's all really starting to feel like baby could actually be here quite soon now.

cannotmakemymindup · 22/06/2020 11:52

@mable88 Ice lollies as many as they need I think for your friend in this heat! Grin

@WeeScottishWife I’m the same, I’m due July 31st and I’m 34+3 today, it’s getting so close isn’t it!!!

So quick update, the early labour seems to have been stopped completely 😆
Being discharged from hospital as we speak after a longgggg 3 days. They seem to think I may have kidney stones which could be what started the early labour, but as they’ve been able to stop it they are going to try and get me a kidney x-ray for this week and see what they can do!

But all seems good, coping atm with the pain just using codeine I’m so excited to jump into my own bed😍 (not literally jump I can’t even put my own shoes on anymore haha)

Bert2020 · 22/06/2020 13:11

@Firstmummytobe that’s great news! Enjoy being at home again.
@mable88 one for you one for baby, all day long! It’s not too warm here yet but we’ve 32 predicted over the next few days, I may just sit in the paddling pool as long as DD lets me.
I’m getting ready to meet my son now, feels all a bit surreal waiting to get my induction date so ultimately know it will be August but as we’ve seen they can make their own way if they decide.

Firstmummytobe · 22/06/2020 13:14

@Bert2020
Thanks very much I’m sure I will !!

How come it is that your being induced again? Is it a medical reason or out of choice? I bet your just sitting waiting for that date 🙈

JMill13 · 22/06/2020 13:18

Hi all! Just trying to get caught up with the thread. Thank you all for your well wishes, messages/advice.

@superscientist thank you! Absolutely no need for migraines to be a thing. Everyone always used to tell me to try anti-inflammatories but I can't cause I'm Asthmatic but apparently they're amazing.

Head was mostly better by bed time last night but still a bit sore and tender this morning so called the community midwife team and they called me down. I even said I'm due in on Wednesday anyway but she didn't want to wait. All is perfectly fine baby is moving, heartbeat is strong, I'm okay, blood pressure is a little high but not high enough to send me to hospital so have to go back Wednesday just to make sure my bp goes back to normal. Been told to rest for the rest of the day so had to phone work and tell them I'd not be back online till tomorrow.

If I get another migraine I will phone GP for advice on meds. Hopefully it doesn't happen again though as yesterday was absolutely brutal. Oh went out as planned to his dad for Father's day and I had a nice wee relaxing afternoon on the sofa until my head decided to explode with pain and I just half sat, half lay in bed crying 😂🙈 then OH came home with paracetamol and a raspberry/white chocolate muffin so life was happy again.

@mable88 me! I honestly can't wait to meet him/her and see what they're like. Def don't want them to come now but I just keep counting the days till August when they finally arrive. Even though pregnancy for me has thankfully been pretty uneventful and not overly challenging, I'm not the biggest fan of the anxiety and stress of it.

The limit on ice-lollies does not exist 😂

JMill13 · 22/06/2020 13:21

@firstmummytobe that's great news! Glad to hear it. So happy for you 😊

sel2223 · 22/06/2020 13:30

This thread really does move so fast!!

@cannotmakemymindup thank you for the reassurance regarding c-sections. It's so helpful to hear from someone who's been there and done that as lots of horror stories on the Internet!

@mable88 I'm currently on 2 calypso's a day! I know what you mean about getting impatient....on one hand I'm done being pregnant and want time to go fast. On the other hand, I've still got lots to do and I need flights to be running/quarantine to be gone so babys daddy can get here for the birth!

@Firstmummytobe great news! Now get yourself home and look after yourself. You've really been through the wringer bless you.

Bert2020 · 22/06/2020 13:31

@Firstmummytobe I will be induced as I have GD, a history of PIH and a baby that is measuring off the charts. It should be around 37 weeks 🤞🏻 It’s weird knowing he will be ‘early’ but not knowing when we can start the ball rolling so still an unknown for now.

Bert2020 · 22/06/2020 13:32

@sel2223 I didn’t realise he wasn’t here still, is he in a country that looks likely to release soon?

sel2223 · 22/06/2020 13:36

@Bert2020 he's in Turkey so not on the initial list but we're hoping (praying) things will be different in a months time.

The visa applications have actually just reopened this week so that's gone straight in and hopefully won't be an issue as he's been here before. We just need all the stars to align before Aug 🤞

Bert2020 · 22/06/2020 13:39

Will keep everything crossed @sel2223 hopefully with a baby on the way it will help. I’m hoping that once routes open they will keep them.

Superscientist · 22/06/2020 13:54

Ice lollies and ice cream are important ways to get your recommended fruit and dairy portions!

I keep flipping between wanting to have her already and not feeling ready yet! My dad was born somewhere between 28 and 30 weeks as a little 2lber since passing that milestone her arrival has felt more real and potentially imminent! No signs yet thank goodness.

I'm glad things have settled down and your allowed home @firstmummytobe I hope they find the source of your pain and it can be quickly resolved.

Newmama29 · 22/06/2020 14:08

@Bert2020 thank you! I definitely need to invest in a support belt & an exercise ball! Need to try doing some yoga or something as well to help with the sciatic pain 🥺 my DP has also been on hand to massage my butt as the pain has been too much!

I’m with you all in getting impatient. I want to meet him & I am completely over being pregnant!!!! Don’t get me wrong I feel so blessed especially following a loss but I’m not a nice zen pregnant person lol!! 😂

NamiSwan · 22/06/2020 14:37

Just catching up with the thread, lots of chat since I last logged on! :)

@WeeScottishWife I'm also due the 30th July! Expecting to be late though and for this to be an August baby as a) both my previous two were late and b) my birthday is early August and I am expecting it to be a miserable, heavily pregnant affair! I am also impatient now for baby. I am working until 39 weeks pregnant but honest just cba with work anymore, could do with just jacking it in and going on maternity leave. Only 3 and a half weeks till full term then I will be doing everything I can to try and get baby out!!

@firstmummytobe glad you are home, and fingers crossed baby stays in for a while longer yet.

Lovely to see all the baby name chat. We have chosen a quite unusual name - Renata. I love it, and it's nn Ren. It's not English (my mum is not from the UK) so something a bit different from my DD1 and DD2 who both have quite classic English names. I'm pretty sure my MIL hates it, based on some comments she has made (politely), and the fact she has suggested other names for us, but we have made clear that we've chosen it, and my DH said (to me) he doesn't care whether she likes it or not and it's our baby, so we don't feel any pressure to change it.

Flutterbunny · 22/06/2020 14:54

I’ve just had my 31 week appointment, by telephone, and my midwife told me that the bloods they took at 28 weeks were rejected because they weren’t labelled properly Angry

I’m pretty annoyed because I’ve been feeling really tired recently and wanted to keep a check on my iron levels and I also HATE having my bloods taken!! I was so relieved when I had them done last time as I was hoping that would be the last one. My midwife has said that I will have to have them again at my 34 week appointment which is thankfully face-to-face.

I’m feeling really tired at the moment, and now I’m stressing that it’s because of my iron.

Is everyone else feeling really sluggish? I’m not so tired that I’m having to sleep much during the day but I have very little energy to do much. Going to improve my diet as I’m not eating nearly enough green stuff but just wanted to check how others are feeling to see if this is normal or not.
xx

Newmama29 · 22/06/2020 15:14

@flutterbunny I had been feeling awful & sluggish just before my 28 week appointment, turned out I was anaemic & my iron levels were low so they prescribed me iron tablets! Sounds like it could be the same for you

Firstmummytobe · 22/06/2020 15:22

Have any of you guys lost any breast milk yet? I just went to itch my boob through my top and when I felt my top it was crusty and I didn’t realise I had leaked right through my top on both sides, but I had like sort of a sports bra on so I didn’t even feel / notice it!! it’s a good job I was only in the house 😂😂😂

Superscientist · 22/06/2020 16:23

I've started producing milk. My nipples are sometimes crusty and if I clean it away sometimes I can see more coming through. It was particularly noticeable after my shower the other day, I don't know if the heat had an effect. I haven't had enough to be leaky yet though. I'm 32 weeks. There was a women's hour piece the other day about collecting collosterum prior to birth which is something I'm considering, I can't remember when they said to start this though...

NamiSwan · 22/06/2020 16:26

@flutterbunny if you are worried about iron levels you can buy ferrous fumerate over the counter at pharmacies for about £2.50. I was diagnosed as severly anemic a year ago (heavy period before pregnancy, big tea drinker and vegetarian) and was told to take iron tablets for 6 months. Turns out it is cheaper to buy them otc than pay prescription charges so I got in the habit of just buying them rather than getting prescription. Then fell pregnant before the 6 months were up and decided to just keep taking them. I usually take one a day. So you could always buy them and just take one/two a day. Of course if you'd rather wait until you are sure you need them, then ignore me, but you may find it helps. When I was severely anemic I had no other symptoms other than just being knackered (doctor was surprised because hb levels and ferritin were so low) and my energy levels picked up within a week or 2 so you do tend to see the difference quite quickly.

Flutterbunny · 22/06/2020 16:31

Thank you @Newmama29 and @NamiSwan!!

I will look for those tablets and keep an eye on it. My iron levels were fine just 6 weeks before so I’m not going to get too worked up about it and would prefer not to be prescribed tablets if I can. The side effects don’t seem too fun!

Thank you for putting my mind at rest!! Xx
