@Firstmummytobe - OMG!!!! I hope you are ok, it must be really hard being there without your boyfriend but you sound like you are doing a great job, you can do this!!! It’s a good sign that the contractions have stopped, keeping fingers crossed you will be out of there, with baby still bopping around in your tummy, soon.
Keep us updated, sending lots of love and positive vibes your way xxxx

mable88 · 20/06/2020 09:46

@Firstmummytobe bless you, must be horrible to have to be in without your boyfriend. Fingers crossed everything settles down and your little man stays put for a while longer!

Oldestchild90s · 20/06/2020 10:39

@Firstmummytobe fingers crossed everything is ok for you! Sending you love, best wishes and lots of positivity ❤️

heroineinahalfshell · 20/06/2020 11:20

Just catching up, @Firstmummytobe I'm sending all the vibes your way that the medication works and he stays cooking for a couple more weeks.

MaisieMolly · 20/06/2020 11:36

@Firstmummytobe OMG what a journey you’ve been on! 34 weeks is not very very premature, one of my best friends had a baby at 30 weeks and he’s now a completely normal 3 year old. Hope he stays in for a bit longer but try not to worry if not, you’re in the best hands now xx

JMill13 · 20/06/2020 11:45

@firstmummytobe oh goddess, just got caught up! Hope you're doing okay this morning. Glad you're getting such great care and attention hopefully baby boy settles and stays in his little cocoon a wee bit longer. Though 34 weeks isn't awful, I was born at 34 weeks, incubator and out of hospital within 12 days just in time for Santa coming on Christmas eve, and I'm now a very healthy 30 year old. Keeping my fingers crossed the contractions stay at peace and you get a couple more weeks though. Hopefully get to see your boyfriend soon too. 💛💛

NamiSwan · 20/06/2020 12:29

Oh no @firstmummytobe, sounds very stressful 😔 Just remember though if baby does come early now he's very likely to be fine. My baby centre app told me this week when I turned 34 weeks that babies born from now tend to be ok as their lungs are reasonably well developed and usually only need a little bit of support. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that baby stays in a while longer though!

@lucky08 I am also started to feel the clock is ticking and I am not on top of everything. I've got two kids and juggling home schooling and full time work, so no time for baby prep. I'm also planning to have a home birth and need to get things sorted for that as well as packing hospital bag etc in case I'm transferred in labour, and need to sort out baby stuff 😱

Oldestchild90s · 20/06/2020 14:08

Has anyone experienced severe cramps in their legs? I keep waking up in the morning with really bad cramps in my calves to the point where i can't move them. Just wondered if anyone else has had this?

JMill13 · 20/06/2020 14:26

@oldestchild90 I had this once the other night, complete rude awakening at 3am thankfully was only one leg thankfully but was brutal and I couldn't move it and couldn't get rid of it for a good half an hour

Beau2020 · 20/06/2020 14:34

@0ldestchild90 yes!! Omg the worst pain. The past 2 nights I've woke up screaming because of the intensity. What causes it?

@Firstmummytobe fingers crossed for you, I hope you are okay!! Can't even imagine what it must be like without your boyfriend being with you 🥺 xx

Firstmummytobe · 20/06/2020 14:54

Thankyou everyone!
How’s all our mummies doing today ❤️

Been experiencing contractions again all day, about an hour apart but my waters are still intact and my cervix is closed so they think maybe the contractions will slow and the labour will be put off for another couple of weeks or it could just go the other way but it’s jsut a waiting game.

Going on the monitor again in 10 mins or so so I’ll keep you all updated but got to stay in for another couple of days I think so they can keep an eye on us.
(It feels so weird but amazing to say us even though technically it’s just me here, the woman’s body is so amazing and I couldn’t feel more blessed right now)

❤️❤️❤️❤️

gemso2020 · 20/06/2020 15:33

@Firstmummytobe omgosh, glad everything is stable for now! You really have had a stressful few weeks, hope you are able to get some rest for the next little while - you deserve it!

@Oldestchild90s Yes, I had this a couple of months back and then it reappeared this week. It honestly feels like the worst pain I've ever experienced - I can't move or do anything except try to breath through it, so I keep thinking it's good practise for labour. Haha, I'm sure that's just me being naive though. Last night before bed I used my back massage pillow thing on my calf for twenty mins and I didn't have the pain. So perhaps a massage before bed would help?

Just had a little freak out, I remembered at my online prenatal class this week the midwife mentioned that if your platelet count is too low, they won't allow an epidural.

I just checked my last few blood tests and they were all below the barrier for the required count! Going for new blood tests next week so hoping somehow they have increased, but the idea of no epidural is making me anxious!

cannotmakemymindup · 20/06/2020 16:53

@Oldestchild90s I have to make sure I don't stretch when I wake up otherwise I get the worst cramp. It's so unbelievably painful. I read that pointing your toys up if it happens can lessen it and help it to stop. I think it's meant to be a magnesium/potassium deficiency so I just hope the pregnancy multivitamins will help overall!

I do hope you get to have your last couple of weeks at home not in the hospital so that you can be with your boyfriend.

@gemso2020 That's good to know as I'm aneamic but no idea about platelet count. I may ask midwife tomorrow.

@oldestchild90s I have had night time leg cramps every night for the past 6 weeks. Like clock work keeps me awake from 2am through to the morning. Am desperate for some sleep!

squashie34 · 20/06/2020 18:25

@Oldestchild90s I get this every night, I call it my growing pains 😆 as they feel like when you were a little Kid and you would wake up with them in the night and have your mum rub them until you went back to sleep. When they wake Me I normally just pop one paracetamol and within half an hour it settles enough to let me sleep. I figured 1 paracetamol a day isn't so bad.

squashie34 · 20/06/2020 18:27

@Firstmummytobe I'm glad you're doing ok in there lovely! I know staying in will be a little pants but you're definitely in the right place and they can pop you on the monitor at any minute! Fingers crossed you can keep warming him up in there for a few more weeks!

Oldestchild90s · 20/06/2020 20:20

On my gosh, i'm glad i'm not the only one!! Even though i'm sorry you have to go through that pain as well.. it really is horrible! Has anyone found their legs swell up afterwards? My calf goes really solid so i started to worry that i had a DVT or something. Maybe it's just one of those things..

Oldestchild90s · 20/06/2020 22:02

Is anyone set on a name(s) yet?!

JMill13 · 20/06/2020 22:05

Just seen this on Instagram and it proper made me laugh, so thought I'd share

Due August 2020 Thread 2
JMill13 · 20/06/2020 22:09

@oldestchild90 we have at last. Got one boy and one girl name all ready to go.

Callie Elizabeth (girl)
Cameron William (boy, obvs)

Have you got yours decided yet?

GYNisaliarWTF · 20/06/2020 22:12

Hello ladies! I’m sorry to butt in and I hope you don’t mind... I’m due 28th July but can relate a little more to August due date ladies as I’m right at the end of July 😂

Relating to all that you’re saying- the leg cramps are real!! restless leg syndrome is it called?
Eek.

Hoping you’re all getting peaceful rest!

My little lady is to be Violet Frances 😍

Oldestchild90s · 20/06/2020 22:15

@JMill13 Ah lovely names! It's a difficult one, my other half is so laid back so he says 'i don't mind' but every time i mention a name he's like 'nah hate that' so we're still in that predicament! I never thought it would be this hard you know.

Welcome @GYNisaliarWTF another lovely name. My cat is called Violet and if it wasn't for that reason i would have definitely called my girl Violet too! 🙂

squashie34 · 20/06/2020 22:15

@JMill13 gorgeous names, I love them both! ❤️

@GYNisaliarWTF Violet is such a timeless name, I love that! ☺️

We've gone for Luna Grace - keeping it a secret from family and friends until she's here though. I don't want to curse anything!

sel2223 · 20/06/2020 22:31

Beautiful names ladies.

We are having a little Alara but still undecided on her middle name.
