I have been taking meds as prescribed which has helped but not taken it away completely. Lying down helps but not very practical! Eating and drinking makes it worse and better.
I nearly had an accident earlier when I started being sick mid pee.... I'm glad I have been doing my pelvic floor exercises that is for sure!! Haha!

JMill13 · 19/06/2020 18:52

@firstmummytobe the shapes these babies must get into to make us so uncomfortable 😂🙈

@superscientist that absolutely sucks, few more weeks and it'll all be over and be worth it for the end result

Lucky08 · 19/06/2020 19:08

Is anybody else starting to feel really overwhelmed? I just feel like I have so much to do with appointments every 2 weeks, trying to finish off at work, buying the remainder of baby things. Sorting hospital items, sorting baby's clothes along side day to day life like food, keeping on top of the house, fathers day and family birthdays without being able to go to a shop. I literally just had a meltdown as my GP called me to tell me off for missing a blood test that I completely forgot as work is being really demanding at the moment.

cannotmakemymindup · 19/06/2020 21:51

@Lucky08 you're definitely not alone in feeling that way. I certainly keep having moments like that and I'm not working.
Trying to make sure I've got everything for baby, hospital bag packed and we still would like to find a larger property to move to (before baby if at all possible). Plus fitting in home schooling my daughter. And there's the midwife and consultant appointments seeing if I end up with a VBAC or a C-section.

It does just gets a little bit like it's so big. But I try to make sure I share with DH and people I trust the things I'm finding difficult and how I feel. And all you lovely ladies to. That helps me a lot.

@Lucky08 you're not alone at all!! I've felt the same and it's horrible there's so much to remember with all the appointments, blood tests and everything else! Hope you're ok xx

JMill13 · 19/06/2020 22:10

@lucky08 right there with ya! It's such an uncertain time as well which probably doesn't help any of us.

Flutterbunny · 19/06/2020 22:28

Thank you for all your messages yesterday. I spoke to my mum before I met her and explained how I felt. We met up but were very careful, staying apart and my mum had her mask on the whole time. Super hard but I know it’s the right thing at the moment.

@Lucky08 - You are definitely not alone. I’ve started to feel the same way, I just want to go on maternity leave now, I’m working from home but I’m really not productive at all. I missed an important phone call last week because I was napping on the sofa Grin

squashie34 · 19/06/2020 22:54

@Flutterbunny glad you got to see your mum and felt comfortable about it the whole time, perfect situation! Did you buy anything nice?

I'm with you ladies, I've felt pretty pants today. Does anyone just have days where they just feel under the weather? I felt a bit nauseous, back aches, period type stomach pain and my bladder was hurting so much when I was walking (must have been where she way lying). Have felt fine all week, albeit uncomfortable but think that's our life for the foreseeable isn't it. Had a cry today too when my partner told me he needed to go for a site visit tonight for work (he's a project engineer so I'm amazed he's been able to work from home for so long) .. not that I was worried about him and covid etc but because I actually felt jealous he was going out to somewhere that isn't the hospital! 😅 feeling pretty hormonal today aswell clearly! 🙄

Firstmummytobe · 19/06/2020 22:57

Ok so after thinking my hospital trips were over for now, that pain I was talking about earlier got gradually worse and worse, and turns out THEY WETE CONTRACTIONS AND IM IN EARLY LABOUR 😩😩 !!!

I’m in the delivery suite, I’m 34 weeks today so they have given me steroid injections, and also another injection and 2 tablets to try and stop the labour, which they think so far has worked because my contractions have slowed ALOT and aren’t as sore now.
My boyfriend isn’t allowed in Which is so s* I just need him here with me I’m drained.

Hopegully, fingers crossed, these tablets work and I’ll have close monitoring and I’ll be able to give birth in about 3 weeks a little closer to 38 weeks.

Once again I’ll keep you all updated!!! 💙🙃

Bert2020 · 19/06/2020 23:05

Will keep everything crossed for you @firstmummytobe Hopefully baby stays put for now. It must be such a worry for you.

Firstmummytobe · 19/06/2020 23:09

@Bert2020 thanks so much, I know it’s one thing after another. Just want him to stay for another at least 3/4 weeks at least so he’s classed as full term 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Bert2020 · 19/06/2020 23:19

@Firstmummytobe it really is, you’ve been through it. 34 weeks is good but could definitely be better, every day will help I guess? Are you able to get any rest or presumably it’s near constant attention? I wish there was something we could do for you.

cannotmakemymindup · 19/06/2020 23:20

@Firstmummytobe oh my goodness labour! I really hope that baby of yours stays in like you and doctors want them to for the next few weeks.

squashie34 · 19/06/2020 23:22

@Firstmummytobe oh gosh you poor thing having to be in there without your partner! But I'm
Glad that the injections and things seem to be helping, let's hope he stays in there for a little while longer yet! 🤞 do they know why
You've started having contractions? Just remember that 34 weeks is still a good gestation so please try and stay positive!

Firstmummytobe · 19/06/2020 23:37

Well I take it back, contractions are back and worse than before 😭 I just feel so much more at peace speaking with you guys on here because my boyfriend can’t be here and I feel a lot less lonely.

Fingers crossed it’s just contractions and they can stop them again xx

Firstmummytobe · 19/06/2020 23:39

It’s constant attention, I’m on the delivery suite with my own room etc, but I’m on the monitor constantly which is showing my contractions and they come in every 10 mins to check on me the Care is is amazing I’m so glad I have such a nice midwife here!

sel2223 · 19/06/2020 23:41

Oh my goodness @Firstmummytobe stay strong. We are all here for you!
Good luck x

squashie34 · 19/06/2020 23:46

@Firstmummytobe I'm pretty sure between us all on here someone will be awake most times during the night (god love pregnancy insomnia) and we are all here for you! ❤️

cannotmakemymindup · 19/06/2020 23:46

@Firstmummytobe Sorry your boyfriend can't be with you, but that is fantastic your care is so thorough. Really hope your contractions ease. Babies really do like to have there own way and time of doing things.

WorriedButterfly · 20/06/2020 06:23

How are you doing @Firstmummytobe? Thinking of you and glad they're looking after you. x

Firstmummytobe · 20/06/2020 06:39

Morning everyone! So last contraction was about two o’clock, they gave me another dose of them tablets to slow down my labour and it seems to be working no more pains ☺️☺️
On the CTG monitor now and he seems perfectly fine up to now, not much movement right now but he’s probably asleep as they gave me a shot of diamorphine to help with the pain and it really helped me to sleep for a few hours.

Keep you all updated but fingers crossed I’ll be pregnant for another few weeks. (He’s just an impatient little bugger like his daddy 😂🙈)

Bert2020 · 20/06/2020 08:51

Good morning, so glad baby stayed inside and you got some rest. 🤞🏻 for you.

Superscientist · 20/06/2020 09:03

Thinking of you, I hope he stays put a little longer!

Newmama29 · 20/06/2020 09:05

@Firstmummytobe just catching up on all this! You poor thing, that has been one of my fears from about 25 weeks😭 it’s such a scary time that your OH can’t be with you either, I’m glad you’re getting top care & compassion from the midwives! My fingers are crossed that all stays well & baby behaves for a few more weeks🤞🏼

sel2223 · 20/06/2020 09:21

Thinking of you @Firstmummytobe and hoping your little Prince stays cooking for a few more weeks. This must be so scary for you but you're doing great!
