@Flutterbunny exactly it's stressful trying to work out whats going on and whether I should worry or that this baby is just a little pickle Grin who also really likes to chill.

Ah @Chez2306 I'm sorry to hear that. It sounds like it was good it got picked up when it did though.
I had a bleed on the brain last year so being closely monitored through pregnancy and all seems OK so far except that I have to have a c section but I've come to terms with that now. I really hope everything goes OK for you.

@cannotmakemymindup I spent weeks waiting patiently to 28 weeks so baby would establish a pattern and I wouldnt worry as much but, here I am, at 32 weeks and no pattern in sight!
It's so frustrating, I have an anterior placenta and baby is head down now so most of her 'kicks' are above the belly button where they are cushioned by the placenta. I'm anxious every single day.

sel2223 · 17/06/2020 10:49

32 weeks tomorrow and spent an hour this morning throwing up bile.....morning sickness type throwing up rather than a stomach bug and I feel fine now!

Not been sick in about 12 weeks though so it came as a complete surprise....has anyone else had a random bout of sickness? I hope it's a one off!

Superscientist · 17/06/2020 11:05

My pregnancy sickness came back at 25 weeks but now at 31 weeks I probably only have 1 or 2 days a week where I'm sick or nauseous and it is mostly just for an hour or so midmorning. I've just had to duck out of a meeting to throw up... So glad I can just turn my mic and camera off and could listen in from the bathroom!

I do have a pattern to her activity even so I have variability in how strongly I feel and have days where I have to sit quietly or concentrate to feel them. They are tricky little things!

cannotmakemymindup · 17/06/2020 11:06

@sel2223 I didn't throw up but had one really nauseous day last week. I spent the whole day feeling so rough and tired had to get my DH home from work to look after my dd. But the next day I was absolutely fine again.

And same with the placenta for me, although this baby has changed to transverse a lot of the time instead of head down.

@cannotmakemymindup been thinking the same thing to be honest. Baby was super active all weekend but I've barely felt a thing since Sunday. I've tried cold hands on the belly, drinking juice, drinking lucozade, music, poking and prodding the usual and haven't had much of anything but I'm not at the panic phone midwife stage solely because I keep noticing it in different positions, assuming it must be due to my placenta 🤷‍♀️

JMill13 · 17/06/2020 11:23

@sel2223 I've had this a few times over the last week or so, but not for an hour. Generally just throw up bile or sick for like 2/3minutes and then go about my day like nothing happened. From what I've read it can be quite common for morning sickness/nausea to return in the 3rd trimester.

All fun and games being pregnant at times isn't it? 😂

WorriedButterfly · 17/06/2020 11:57

@Chez2306 sorry to hear you're having a tough time, sending lots of love and best wishes.

@cannotmakemymindup my midwife said think of a newborn asleep and how little it moves, then if it stretches or yawns occasionally you'll feel more. It is hard, I'm not sure I have a set pattern, so just making sure I count the 10 in an hour once a day (sometimes more) which helps keep the anxiety at bay. @JMill13 she also said never to feel like you shouldn't give them a call sometimes they'll be busy and might not be the friendliest but it's what you feel you need to do and nothing to do with anyone else.

@sel2223 - haven't been sick but had pangs of nausea for last week at 30 wks. (I wasn't actually sick in early stages).

I'm so hungry and feel the size of a house! ☹️

JMill13 · 17/06/2020 12:27

@worriedbutterfly oh I know, I will ring if I need to, but I haven't felt the need to yet as I know they're still moving I just haven't felt many kicks, punches or nudges this week. Keeping an eye on it though.

Newmama29 · 17/06/2020 12:59

@cannotmakemymindup I’ve had a bit of a worrisome few days regarding movements. I felt like he was moving but not as strong kicks for a few days. I just phoned the maternity assessment & they were fantastic! Got me in for 30 mins to monitor & even booked me an extra scan to double check. Low & behold after being on the monitor for 5 mins he kicked like crazy so I reckon he’s just trouble & keeping me on my toes lol!! After having the scan his head is buried deep in my pelvis so they reckon the position he’s in made the movements less intense. If you are in any doubt just phone them, they don’t make you feel silly at all!!

I’m struggling with nausea the now too but I think it’s because of how clammy & warm it is! I just feel like I can’t get any fresh air & it’s making me feel terrible 😬

Camia · 17/06/2020 14:06

@cannotmakemymindup I had a brief scare not long ago, he went from crazy kicking all the time to just soft little wiggles on and off. I panicked and called and they said it's common between 30 and 34 weeks for movements to start to be more subtle especially as the baby starts to settle head down. Mine has a sort of pattern but also has days where he throws it off completely then goes back. I think they just like to keep us on our toes lol

I also had a new wave of morning sickness the other day, I thought it was odd as I've never heard of it coming back in third trimester but kinda brushed it off since it went away and hasn't been back yet. Good to know I'm not the only one

cannotmakemymindup · 17/06/2020 15:35

I am glad I'm not the only ones whose babies are doing softer movements. I felt slightly like I was dismissed, as there are movements just not as hard as what I haf got used to, by maternity triage in all honesty. It's very hard for me not to compare to my previous pregnancy as it was so different.

squashie34 · 17/06/2020 15:50

So glad this conversation has come up, it's really put my mind at rest a little! I'm 33+3 and I've been saying the same for the last few days- she is moving, I can't deny that as you can see tiny movements on my tummy still, but last week she was climbing out of my stomach 😅 and she just feels now like she is lightly rolling around. That's the only thing that's stopped me phoning the labour triage, that I can't say I can't feel her move at all as I can, it's just different. My partner thinks I'm mad I think 🙈

cannotmakemymindup · 17/06/2020 15:56

I think it's because there is such a large emphasis on movements and we're the only ones who can pay attention to them so it adds pressure plus possible guilt into the situation. As we don't want to get it wrong but also are trying to be level headed about it. Maybe it's a summer baby thing. Being elusive.

@Chez2306 oh lovely, what a lot you've got to deal with. Sending lots of strength and positive thoughts your way.

Aaargh the movements! I've been in a flap most of today (from lunchtime) as didn't feel diddly from madam all morning. But then I've done the lying on my side after eating something sweet three times this afternoon and all three times she's had a wriggle and then a movement or two afterwards, so I think she is just having a lazier day today. And she gave me a good strong kick about half an hour ago, so I have decided not to call up today. But its so hard to know whether and when to call! She's been going absolutely nuts every other day this week, my stomach has looked like something out of Alien. I have been quite busy and on my feet a lot more today than usual, so wondering whether that might have something to do with it - my NCT lady said last week that they tend to move more when we are less active as being active can rock them to sleep!

NamiSwan · 17/06/2020 16:28

Hey everyone, hope its OK to join. I was on one of the old August threads and haven't been on mumsnet for a while, took me a while to find everyone!

I'm 33+6, pregnant with third child, currently massive. Had my 34 week appointment yesterday and measuring 35cm so think this baby is going to be bigger than my previous two who were both fairly small/average at birth and I was measuring smaller.

Sorry to hear people are getting stressed about movements. I think so long as you are feeling baby move regularly, it doesn't matter so much if kicks etc are softer. Eventually they have less space anyway and can't move around so violently. Some days my little one is going crazy doing the conga in there and other days she moves but just not as violently.

JMill13 · 17/06/2020 17:47

Anyone doing food prep/ freezing meals for when you're sleep deprived and cba cooking? I'm just looking for easy, freezer recipes but other than chili and lasagne I'm coming up blank. My OH can only cook fajitas so I need to think ahead or we'll living off toasties, fajitas and Tuna sandwiches. Anyone any suggestions? What about other meals in the day?

2020Aug · 17/06/2020 18:07

@Chez2306 sorry to hear everything you're going through, sending lots of love.

I'm finding the movement very stressful, just when I think they're in a good pattern, they stop moving or it seems to reduce. I had my 32 week midwife appointment today and I mentioned I was abit worried as my baby hadn't been quite so active this morning so they sent me along to triage. Both mine and the babies heart rate was quite high too, but I was attached to the monitor for over half an hour and babies heart rate was fine (and mine had come down too by this point). I've got another scan Friday though just to check everything is ok. I thought the first trimester was so stressful but I'm finding this last bit just as bad in a different way!

@JMill13 I'm planning to do some batch cooking once I've finished work at 38 weeks (assuming baby hasn't made an appearance). I was thinking chilli, lasagne, curry and shepherd's pie as couldn't think what else would be good to freeze. I was also trying to think of some snacks I can make and freeze, maybe something like granola bars but I need to find some recipe ideas that doesn't have nuts!

JMill13 · 17/06/2020 18:27

@2020Aug oh shepherd's pie, good shout. I'm trailing through Pinterest at the minute trying to find some ideas. I keep seeing Enchiladas pop up so might do those. I'm hoping to find some veggie recipes as I would like to go back to being vegetarian once baby comes (only started eating meat again cause its all baby seemed to want at start and now it's just been easier) thinking bolognese might be a good one for that and then all we'd have to do is boil some pasta/spaghetti. I want to start now-ish as even though only 30 weeks I'd be too scared to end up going early.

squashie34 · 17/06/2020 19:23

Alongside the meals I'm also batch cutting and freezing bags of veg/fruit for smoothies! Just incase it's as hot as it is now ALL the time, all I think I'll want is an ice cold smoothie in the nutribullet.

heroineinahalfshell · 17/06/2020 19:46

I also want to batch cook and freeze, but all my usual freezer meals - shepherds pie, beef stew, lamb curry - feel a bit heavy and wintry for Aug/Sep! But DH is a useless cook so I'm going to have to come up with something. I might freeze a few batches of pizza dough and he can make us fresh pizzas.

JMill13 · 17/06/2020 20:02

@squashie34 oooh good idea on the smoothies, I definitely would have forgotten about those and been devastated. Need to find some good recipes, I usually just buy the pre-made frozen smoothie mixes from tesco but they never seem to have decent ones these days.

@heroineinahalfshell this is what I was thinking, that's all my regular but seems very autumnal/wintery for August/September. Although made and had chilli for dinner last night and it worked despite the heat of the weather.

I'm going to draft in OH's mum to make some stuff as she's amazing, so hopefully she can come up with some ideas. Could always just hit Iceland and buy a ton of frozen things that can be chucked in the oven for 20 minutes.

cannotmakemymindup · 17/06/2020 20:58

Recommend recipe boxes to like Gousto and Hello Fresh as although not premade they come with easy instructions for OH to follow along. They've been great since I got pregnant and when I was to ill to cook. My OH can now make so many more. Although I'm cooking again we're still using as less shopping and ingredients to think about. If anybody wants money off codes for either let me know.

@cannotmakemymindup I'd love to order those but OH is that bloody fussy I'd be worried they'd send something he'd hate and it'd be wasted. There's about 4 vegetables he'll eat unless chopped up super tiny and hidden 🙈

cannotmakemymindup · 17/06/2020 22:32

@JMill13 with Gousto you choose the meals two weeks in advance and Hello Fresh you can switch out meals you don't like for other ones. However that must be tough limiting choices that way for you. Especially for planning ahead.
