Wonderful news @Firstmummytobe

sel2223 · 16/06/2020 11:57

Ah @Firstmummytobe what a relief!! You must be all over the place with emotions right now. So pleased for you.

mable88 · 16/06/2020 12:29

@Firstmummytobe I am so pleased to hear this, it’s made my morning! You must be so relieved; hope you can put your feet up for the rest of the day and take some time to regroup - must have been such a stressful few days for you x

2020Aug · 16/06/2020 12:49

That is amazing news @Firstmummytobe

Camia · 16/06/2020 13:23

@Firstmummytobe That's so great to hear!

JMill13 · 16/06/2020 15:40

Hey all!

Anyone any suggestions on nursing bras? Is it too early to buy some yet? Any recommendations?

Superscientist · 16/06/2020 16:00

I have ordered some from asda when doing a baby clothes order. My current bralets are a bit tight on bloated days and thought if I need a new bra it may as well be a nursing bra but also didn't want to spend a fortune in case it ends up too small for nursing. I'm 31 weeks so it's possibly a bit soon to be buying really but not sure. I have also order bra extenders to give more flexibility in back sizes as I have a few bras that are a little tight on the back but ok on the cup. I'm hoping to use them later to gauge what size nursing bra I will need after - the asda one I have ordered only came in s/m/l etc.

I ordered these off of someone else's recommendation and they are great. Will be good for sleeping in but I am quite small busted so I find them a bit too much for the daytime. Will be looking to get something more 'bra like' when she arrives x

Firstmummytobe · 16/06/2020 16:22

Thankyou so much everybody!! I feel so relieved and reassured now! Hopefully it’s just a case of a little surgery at most to fix his bowel or even better it sorts itself out before I have him!!

Hope everybody is well xxx

Flutterbunny · 16/06/2020 16:26

I’ve tried soooo many nursing bras because my boobs have absolutely ballooned already so I need something supportive but because of Covid I’ve not been able to get a measured cup size properly.
The best I’ve found so far are from M&S - a 2 pack Santoni Full Cup. They are comfortable and I think will be good when nursing.
I’ve ordered some bras to sleep in from JoJo but waiting for them to arrive.

Luna321 · 16/06/2020 16:50

Sorry just catching up. Sorry to hear you received that news @Firstmummytobe but so pleased you had good news from your appointment.
@JMill13 it's definitely not too early, I've been wearing nursing bras for at least a month now 🙈 as I've outgrown all my normal bras and even my old nursing bras from last time. I've gone up at least 2 sizes 😬 I bought a couple from Jojo. This one and another slightly cheaper one which is better for nighttime. They are quite stretchy so lots of room for anymore growth once the baby is here. www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/emmajane-zara-maternity-nursing-bra-e6092.html

JMill13 · 16/06/2020 16:57

Thanks ladies.
I think M&S is my best shout. I'm a DD normally so a bit worried I'll end up bigger over the next few weeks. They ballooned at the start but have leveled out a bit I think, old bras are getting tighter though. Is it likely they'll get bigger between now and baby coming?

heroineinahalfshell · 16/06/2020 18:45

I've struggled with bras as every "proper" nursing bra I've bought has been massively uncomfortable/too tight in the band, so I've ended up buying 3 crop tops from Sainsbury that zip up in the front - they're not massively supportive but OK for round the house and very comfortable, and a steal at £9 each! Reviews reckon they're OK for nursing as you can unzip to free the boob.

Oldestchild90s · 16/06/2020 19:02

Hey ladies!

Will my boobs still keep getting bigger or will they stay this size? Unfortunately i'm a size G and it's literally like carrying bowling balls at the moment it's very depressing 😭 are there any nursing bras good for big busted women in particular or are they all going to be alright?

JMill13 · 16/06/2020 19:23

@oldestchild90 my sisters a G cup (not pregnant though) and swears by Bravissimo, I'd assume they'd do a nursing range but I think they're a bit dear mind. M&S are usually good for bigger sizes. Have you not been absolutely boiled alive this last few days with the heat carrying boobs like that about? I thought mine were bad enough for it now 😂

Bert2020 · 16/06/2020 19:34

@Oldestchild90s mine didn’t actually grow last time h cup and so far haven’t this song hopefully you will be ok. Agree with @JMill13 bravissimo is fab, also M&S have some stretchy options that are sized s,m,l,xl that are good because they are non wired and have a portion that stays up, I had some others I don’t recall where from but when you undone the clip there was no support at all left and with big boobs you really do need the support Grin

Oldestchild90s · 16/06/2020 20:50

@Bert2020 Thanks for that, fingers crossed they don't grow any more! I find the only problem with s,m,l,xl is i have quite a small frame but big boobs so the bra is always either too big or too small if that makes sense. But i will shop around, thanks!!

@JMill13 Honestly, i dream of having DD boobs again one day 😂 but in this heat it's very bad isn't it and i've been told it will only get worse 😩 i think M&S is a safe option so i will have a look!

squashie34 · 16/06/2020 21:17

@Oldestchild90s right there with you on the huge booby front.. I was an F cup pre pregnancy and now I'm a G! 😩🤣 I started off with some non wired maternity bras but they made my boobs look so saggy they sat on my bump and made me feel crap so I went to bravissimo and got fitted for some maternity underwired bras - they also do some nursing bras similar too that are expensive but I explained to my OH and it's something we're going to keep money aside for as it matters so much to how I look and my self confidence, I don't want floppy saggy boobs in a non wired bra. I wish I could just wear those crop top style nursing bras but I honestly can't.

That said I would like to be fitted properly so I really hope stores are open by August!

MrsStavrum · 16/06/2020 21:43

Hi ladies,

I hope you don’t mind me joining. I am due the 25th August and it’s my second.

I completely hear you ladies with the big boobs! Mine grew massively at first but have luckily stopped at a G cup. I had a Freya underwired nursing bra last time which wasn’t the most comfortable but great on days when you want a more normal shape and want to feel put together:

For around the house and sleeping I Have one of these
www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/bravado-body-silk-seamless-nursing-bra-dusted-peony-e3722.html
Lovely and soft and still have a bit of support. I have it in a medium and I have already been wearing to bed for some weeks! Xxx

heroineinahalfshell · 16/06/2020 22:53

@squashie34 I've also gone from an F to a G, but I haven't been able to tolerate underwire from the beginning and even unwired bras dig in and hurt within a few hours, so I'm wearing crop tops and have resigned myself to saggy, bump-resting boobs!

Chez2306 · 17/06/2020 07:08

Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well❤️ not long left now for you all😬!

So just a little update on myself - after my fall at 29 weeks it was discovered that I had a benign brain tumour, baby will be delivered by c section in 2 and a half weeks and then I will be undergoing surgery to hopefully remove the cyst but unfortunately won't be able to even see my baby for two weeks afterwards, it's been a rollercoaster lately but my family and friends have been amazing! I just can't wait to meet my little guy now.

I hope everyone is good and well, will update you all once baby is here and PLEASE stay safe the next few weeks. I wish you all the love and happiness in this world❤️

Superscientist · 17/06/2020 09:06

I haven't looked at their maternity /nursing bras but I usually get my bras from brastop. They only stock dd - k bras and go down to a 28 back. Once I figure out what size I need I'll probably be looking at them if I can't get to a real shop. I'm a 28-30 back which is limiting and I can't always afford bravissimo.

@Chez2306 oh lovely, I'm sorry to hear that. At least they have a plan to remove it. I can't imagine how difficult it must be for you right now. Thinking of you

cannotmakemymindup · 17/06/2020 09:36

@Chez2306 Wow that sounds so difficult to not be able to see your baby at first. Are they being born around 34 weeks?

At the same time it's good the tumour got picked up, if you hadn't had the fall, no one would have realised I imagine for awhile and it would have got worse!

Does anybody on here have a baby that is yet to have a pattern with movements? I have tried to figure this baby out but it seems to switch after three days or something and change times etc when it moves. I ended up ringing maternity triage the other night as it had been so quiet on Monday and literally only as I rung did it start to move loads. Midwife said it's not the strength of movements I need to pay attention to but if it's moving. As I end up worrying when there is less strong movements to.

@Chez2306 - Sending lots of love your way - what a difficult time you must be having, it sounds like you are very much taking it in your stride though which is good. Take care of yourself xx

@cannotmakemymindup - I had exactly the same panic this morning. Usually baby is very active in the AM and PM but the last two days it’s been quiet until about 2pm when it goes crazy until about 6pm and then quiet again!
This morning I was prodding my tummy in an attempt to wake it up and then had a glass of OJ which soon got it going!
So yes, I too am finding that the movements are not so much a pattern at the moment. I find it quite stressful trying to keep tabs on it xx
