Yeah I'm thinking an acoustic playlist. Oh has a chill playlist already set up on Spotify so I might go through that and make a new one.

@squashie34 ooh good shout on the Harry Potter audio book.

2020Aug · 01/06/2020 19:01

I'm planning a Disney playlist, I can't think of anything that would put me in a better mood as it reminds me of all our Disney trips 😂.
I've been reading a hypnobirthing book too @JMill13, really enjoying it.

Ah wow sounds amazing @squashie34, my baby gets hiccups quite often so I'm expecting a very hiccupy baby!

WorriedButterfly · 01/06/2020 19:19

Which books are you reading @JMill13 & @2020Aug ?

JMill13 · 01/06/2020 20:16

@2020Aug ooh I love the Disney idea. I'll definitely have to copy that idea, especially cause we were at Disney LA in December. Maybe some Disney piano music too as it's peaceful but not infuriating.

@worriedbutterfly I'm reading - Hypnobirthing: Practical ways to make your birth better by Siobhan Miller. She's the founder of the Positive Birth Company.

DufferedUp · 01/06/2020 20:39

I'm still in hospital; scan showed a kidney stone blocking the tube to the bladder so I have to wait it out or they'll slice me open at the side to extract it.

Luna321 · 01/06/2020 21:56

@Feelthefear01 yes mines breech but the head is sort of towards the right and moves about a lot. It's very uncomfortable when I drive! Had a scan today and the baby is footling breech so that explains why I'm feeling kicks so low down- a very weird feeling!

Luna321 · 01/06/2020 21:59

@ml01omm I've got that app and If I get a period of movement over say 5-10 minutes I mark that as one kick. Otherwise I'd been on it all day. I've actually not used that app for a while as I'm noticing more of a pattern now.

Feelthefear01 · 02/06/2020 06:45

@Luna321 I get the down kicks too, I agree it's a very strange feeling.

cannotmakemymindup · 02/06/2020 07:51

@DufferedUp no wonder you were in so much pain. I do hope it clears on its own for you.

@sel2223 really glad to hear the antibiotics are working and that you soon hopefully will be able to return home.

Loving all the song ideas for labour. It hadn't even occured to me about playlists. I love the idea. I'm thinking some high energy music sounds brilliant plus things that make me smile and feel good like Sean Paul Grin

I did the Zoom breastfeeding course last night. Which whilst informative totally felt like got the short straw with the lady who was running it. I understand that it is free so I probably shouldn't grumble. However It was double in length of time advertised but I know there were parts of breastfeeding that still weren't discussed or described well enough, mainly as she clearly had an agenda over certain things she feels are important and talked about those at length repeatedly. I certainly hope the other women got out of it what they needed. Oh and nobody would ask her any questions because I think we all knew it would make it even longer for the rest of the group.

@cannotmakemymindup ah rubbish that the zoom class was so crap for you. Hate that. I bought a book on Amazon last week called "The Baby feeding Book" by Vanessa Christie because I don't want to do zoom classes, I don't really know if I'd have done an actual in person class either to be honest but guess we'll never know now 😂 but the book sounds good, includes everything from breastfeeding to bottle and up to starting solids. Haven't read it yet as still reading the Hypnobirthing one but just in case you might get something out of it.

cannotmakemymindup · 02/06/2020 09:38

@JMill13 I think I should be okay as this baby is my second certainly for breastfeeding now. I wanted a refresher course more than anything, as it has been so long since I breastfed my daughter. I couldn't remember what a good latch looked like for instance but that was covered thankfully!

The Zoom itself was fine, could switch off video when I wanted - so I could eat in peace - just the lady taking it was something else.

I did wonder if there was another mumsnetter on there as there was another mum due August who was the most chatty.

@luna321 same for me!! I really hope they will turn ☹️

StephD2020 · 02/06/2020 18:13

Hi ladies hope you're all having a good day? Just wondering if any of you know how to tell which way the baby is lying? I'm sure mine has turned to lay directly across me as I feel two big round lumps either side of my tummy!

Also any idea on when they need to turn by? Is it something I should be worried about at 31 weeks? X

DufferedUp · 02/06/2020 18:22

Vanessa Christie does a zoom breastfeeding class. I signed up through the virtual baby show for July. It's usually about £25 I think.

I'm still in hospital and will be having a nephrostomy tomorrow i.e. a tube into the kidney, which means I get to wear a wee bag for the next 3 months until delivery. Delightful.

JMill13 · 02/06/2020 18:43

@cannotmakemymindup ahh yeah that makes sense. I haven't a clue at all what I'm doing but I figure plenty of women have been doing it for centuries. Can always pump if I need to 😂

@stephd2020 I read somewhere it's something like 34-36 weeks is when it should be in position as they're less likely to move again at that point. Whereas before that even if you're told they're in position they still move about so by the time you're due it could be breech.

@dufferedup ooh thank you, I'll have a look and see if I can join. Oh man, Hopefully that sorts you out quickly and you can get home!

Luna321 · 02/06/2020 19:53

@StephD2020 I've found it really hard to tell but up until a week ago I've felt like the baby has been all over the place, couldn't work out what position they were in. Then when I had my 28 week app the midwife pointed out the head and it seemed so obvious after then, plus I had been getting kicks really low down.

As to when they stay put I think it's all so individual to each person, with my first he was breech and stayed that way from around 27/28 weeks but it wasn't picked up so I never got the chance to try any exercises to try and turn him. But I've heard of babies turning right up to 38/39 weeks so it's possible.

heroineinahalfshell · 02/06/2020 22:39

@StephD2020 that's what my bump felt/looked like (1 side bulging more than the other, and she felt very high up) when the midwife told me she was transverse. She's moved overnight & I'm now guessing she is breech as I now feel a lot of pressure right in the centre/top of bump, and like she's been kicking on my bladder all day.

But who knows! From what I've read you only need to start worrying at 34-36w, and even then they can still turn before delivery.

Newmama29 · 03/06/2020 08:52

Is anyone getting more & more emotional? I find myself crying at the slightest things these days! I cried at a guide dog advert this morning 🙈 I’m such an unemotional person so I’m struggling with wanting to cry at the drop of a hat

Flutterbunny · 03/06/2020 09:21

I am the same Newmama29 - I am not the sort of person that cries at anything on TV but recently I’ve been crying at all sorts, especially those adverts, the one about Donkeys being mistreated set me off the other day.
Our hormones must be doing crazy things at the moment so it’s just one of those things I guess.

StephD2020 · 03/06/2020 09:23

Thanks for the comments ladies. @heroineinahalfshell that is EXACTLY what my bump felt like yesterday although I feel like she might have moved a bit in the night. She's such a wriggler! Got my next antenatal appt on Monday so gonna ask her what way round she is then. Can't believe I'll be 32 weeks on Sunday!

@Newmama29 does being short tempered count as being more emotional? 🤣 although I bought my friend who's just had a baby a little dress from boden and I welled up when it arrived yesterday 🙈 x

JMill13 · 03/06/2020 09:25

@newmama29 hahah yes same! I keep finding myself crying at absolutely nothing. I can't even get angry now without crying which just makes me more angry. The only thing I haven't cried at yet is Greys Anatomy which I'm bingeing as have never seen it but all my friends warned me I'd cry 😂. Duno what that says about me.

Newmama29 · 03/06/2020 09:26

@Flutterbunny @StephD2020 I find myself being highly irritable over silly things to crying over the slightest thing to laughing at how ridiculous I am 😂 my DP thinks I’m crazy!

Newmama29 · 03/06/2020 09:27

@JMill13 oh greys anatomy is an emotional rollercoaster at the best of times!! Good luck mixing that with hormones 😂

cannotmakemymindup · 03/06/2020 09:47

I had a good cry after watching the newest Little Women film the other day. I mean Beth passing is emotional at the best of times but that proper sucker punched me. Although I did feel better for crying. I do get irritated by stuff, usually my DH does in fits and starts. Some days it's just so intense.

@newmama29 Hahaha I know. Although I've made it to season 5 with no tears yet which is nice.

I keep getting crazy angry at OH over dopey shit 😂
