Yes with the crying! I started crying last night because I didn't like my pillow

cannotmakemymindup · 03/06/2020 12:21

@superscientist what was wrong with your pillow?

Bit of good news over here for me! Had a lovely 4D scan today booked by the OH, and the baby has moved head down!!

Thanks for everyone sending help about spinning babies I feel it really worked and last night I actually felt a really big movement that winded me & took my breath away and I said to my OH I think she's moved head down! I'm super happy xx

MaisieMolly · 03/06/2020 12:48

@Beau2020 that’s good news, pleased for you! Any particular exercises from spinning babies that you would recommend?

Beau2020 · 03/06/2020 12:54

@MaisieMolly I mean I'm no expert at all but I did the forward inversion leaning position I think it's called every night. I tried being on all fours a lot which helps with gravity. My favourite thing was the birthing ball I was doing a lot of pelvic movement on that! I'm scared to move now incase she flips round again but they've said that's unlikely now xx

Superscientist · 03/06/2020 14:04

@cannotmakemymindup I'm not entirely sure.... I was in a very disagreeable mood and ended up sleeping without any pillows or covers after a little cry. I've been struggling to sleep and the heat wasn't helping nothing felt "right"

Luna321 · 03/06/2020 16:06

@Beau2020 oh wow that's brilliant news. I'll keep trying the forward leaning one as I've not done that one too much. I think my issue is I tense up when I do them which doesn't help.🤞it'll happen soon

Beau2020 · 03/06/2020 16:11

@Luna321 yes I'm very hopeful it will happen for you! When I felt her move positions last night I was just chilling watching tv in bed but usually I'm lying down whereas this time I was slightly propped up. Not sure if that helped but I was completely relaxed watching Netflix but I was in a different position to normal xx

MrsL1988 · 03/06/2020 16:32

Hi everyone :)

I’m due 10th August with first baby (a girl) Found out at 8 weeks that I have a bicornuate uterus so have been under a consultant throughout-so have to be on delivery suite rather than midwife-led birthing centre.

My sleep has been really disturbed in this heat, trying to find a comfortable position and feels like baby is using my bladder as a pillow! Anyone else feel like they need the loo constantly?!
They have excluded a UTI so I know it’s not that!
Hope everyone is doing well!

ml01omm · 03/06/2020 17:41

I am feeling very hormonal and grumpy this week. I feel huge ( I am measuring ahead and am quite short so that doesn't help) and yesterday I have no idea how baby did, but they managed to wriggle themselves into some crazy transverse position, that caused my bump to be lopsided and my skin to hurt like crazy where it was stretched.

Luckily they seem to have wiggled round over night and is now back to normal.

JMill13 · 03/06/2020 18:41

Hi @MrsL1988 I get up almost every 1-2 hours at night to pee and so many times a day I pee and then 2 seconds later need to go again it's very annoying but has been part of my life for the past 28 weeks.

@Ml01omm my baby keeps doing this and you can see the lopsided-Ness it's very strange and definitely hurts. I usually just poke it a couple of times and they general wriggle away 😂

cannotmakemymindup · 03/06/2020 18:55

@Beau2020 Oh thats so good baby has moved!

@MrsL1988 Oh yes the loo is constant!

@DufferedUp how are you? Have you had the operation yet? Sorry you have to go through that to relieve your kidney stone.

@sel2223 did you get to leave hospital? Did the antibiotics work?

@ml01omm yes to the pain in the skin. And for me my ribs when baby scraps against them when shifting. Ouch! But I will take uncomfortableness over not knowing if they're okay when they are to chilled.

Hey! Am I welcome to join please?? I've read through the thread and enjoyed getting to know you all 😊

I'm 27 weeks with #4!

I'm really worrying about my weight gain. I normally work in a very physical job, so staying home is not doing me any favours! I'm overweight anyway, but with my pregnancy weight gain my BMI has gone into obese and triggers further interventions etc... I'm really struggling and gaining about 2lb a week!! Eeeek!

I don't need the larger blood pressure cuffs, I don't have fat around my spine so if I needed an epidural or something I don't see why it would make any difference? Does anybody have any experience? I have my 28 week appointment next week and I'm worried she's going to humiliate me Blush😭
For two pregnancies I've also carried excessive amniotic fluid, so I think this could also be a problem again. I don't feel fatter other than my belly being huge!

Sorry, that was long!

heroineinahalfshell · 03/06/2020 22:56

Welcome to the thread @MamaFirst - I'm 29+4 so a little ahead of you. I haven't gained a lot of weight (thankfully), but my BMI pre-pregnancy was 32 so firmly in the obese category. I have not been made to feel bad at all by the midwives, in fact they've not referenced it other than to refer me for GTT (which was clear). They've also not weighed me since my booking in. If you're concerned about the speed of weight gain then definitely bring it up though.

Beau2020 · 04/06/2020 07:37

Welcome @mamafirst !

I'm 31 weeks and I had a 4D scan yesterday which was absolutely beautiful! But, I noticed in my notes they've dated me at 33 weeks and pushed my EDD forward 2 weeks. Obviously this isn't official as it wasn't a NHS scan, but I've always suspected I was a lot further gone than I originally was dated. All of my friends and family have said I look bigger too. 🙈

StephD2020 · 04/06/2020 08:05

Morning all and welcome to the new ladies! I am soooo glad it's cooled down a bit now as I managed to sleep right through last night and only woke once which was amazing!

@Beau2020 that's brill news about the positioning - am defo gonna try that once I've seen the midwife on Monday. Was the 4d scan excellent? I'm wanting to get one for my DH for Father's Day as he missed the 20w scan - can I ask who/where you booked with?

@jmill13 I have no idea how you've made it to season 5 of Greys without shedding a tear. I'm in bits on every episode and have watched it from the start. I got my mum into it when she was convalescing from her cancer treatment and she binged watched it before her treatment had finished lol! X

JMill13 · 04/06/2020 10:01

@stephd2020 I actually slept most of last night too. Thankful for cooler weather. I don't mind it being hot in the day but night time has been woeful recently, our bedroom ends up like a sauna in summer. Haha my friends have said the same 😂 I think it's helping that I've been watching it while working so I'm not entirely focused on it most of the time. I'm dreading the Izzie storyline though, think it might get me.

StephD2020 · 04/06/2020 10:06

Oh @JMill13 you've not got there yet? Get the Kleenex ready!! 😭

On other news - is anyone experiencing heart palpitations at all? My heart rate keeps randomly hitting 125bpm when I'm at rest. No rhyme or reason (last night it kicked off as I was watching TV and this morning it started after I'd finished my porridge) but my resting HR atm is around 80-85bpm. Have called and a left a message for my midwife but as you all know they aren't the best at calling me back 🤣🙈

JMill13 · 04/06/2020 10:25

@stephd2020 not quite, I'm really only just passed her realising and telling Denny to go away, so am paying as close attention as I can to this season now.

That doesn't sound fun, hopefully the midwife calls you back asap! Just keep trying them till you get them and stay as relaxed as you can.

Oldestchild90s · 04/06/2020 10:39

Welcome @mamafirst and anyone else i've missed!

Sorry i haven't been commenting on alot of things recently i've been a little down but have been trying to keep up to date with you!
Hope everyone is feeling okay. I had my first reduced movement scan this morning but felt like i wasted their time as baby moved about 1649374373 million times during the monitoring period 😂 although i am glad that i went!

Sending best wishes to all!

JMill13 · 04/06/2020 10:49

@oldestchild90 hope you're doing okay and hangin' in there. Glad all is well with Baby though, they really do like to drive us crazy.

Flutterbunny · 04/06/2020 10:58

Morning!
I had a TERRIBLE nights sleep last night, although I agree with you all about it being so much better cooler in the evenings! Baby was really active last night, woke me up at 1 and was still going at 3. I was on the verge on waking my partner up to see if we should call in but then it calmed down again. My friend who is a midwife said that it’s quite normal for baby to have an energy spurt but you can’t help but worry!

@StephD2020 - Do you suffer from heartburn or acid reflux at all? My mums a nurse and told me that sometimes if you have rising acid it can effect your heart rate so best thing to do is sit up for a little bit. I’ve taken my heart rate monitor watch off because it was stressing me out too much! X

MamaFirst · 04/06/2020 11:17

@heroinahalfshell thank you, that's reassuring. We're in difficult circumstances being so much less mobile, you've done well not gaining much! I actually lost weight with my last baby, but work was a killer and also induced my nausea throughout so that was probably why! I feel much healthier this time, so we shall see!

Hey everyone else, thank you for the welcome.

I suffer really badly with reflux every pregnancy, it is the single worst part of the whole thing for me. I did get omeprazole last time, but it upset my stomach in return. I do get palpitations too, I think that's fairly normal as long as its not ongoing, but your midwife will hopefully get back to you!

StephD2020 · 04/06/2020 11:21

@Flutterbunny yes! I've had terrible reflux which has been getting worse and worse over the last two weeks (which ties in exactly with when my heart palpitations have been on the increase). It also does come on more when I'm chilling on the sofa, not laying down but defo reclining. Hopefully that's it! 🤞🏻 x

mable88 · 04/06/2020 11:50

@MamaFirst I’m slightly concerned about my weight too - my booking in appointment put me .3 over the obese threshold and so I got sent for a GTT which was fine. The midwife I saw this morning (not my usual midwife) wanted to weigh me but couldn’t find the scales 🙈 so she’s leaving it until next time but mentioned about how I would become high risk if my BMI went over 35. I’ve not really been worrying about weight gain so far and haven’t weighed myself in weeks but now I am panicking I will have gained loads and become high risk, even though everything has been absolutely fine so far Sad also I’d have thought BMI would be skewed off during pregnancy, as a lot of the weight we are gaining isn’t actual weight but fluid, placenta, baby etc
