Hey everyone!!! I know I’m super early as I’m 12dpo but I’ve finally had my “pregnant” on clear blue digital and I’m over the moon. I’ve been trying to tell myself not to get tooo excited as I had a chemical pregnancy in March but, too late haha. I’m so excited and happy! May as well be positive about it..

Anyone else just found out they’re pregnant and due in February 2021? The NHS due date calculator puts at the 3rd February. What’s your symptoms been so far ?

Xx

Hi everyone. Well... Here I am. Gulp. I'm 37 (38 in the summer), with a possible unexpected third. Testing tomorrow, as didn't have any tests in the house. Our children are DS (6) and DD (3.5). They'll be 7 and 4 when baby comes. I was adamant I didn't want to be back here again, but due to a badly timed contraception failure, here I think I am (having given everything away!) Not entirely sure quite how I feel about it. I lurch from "it'll be okay" to "it's a disaster" in approximately 2.5 seconds. I'll be 38 when baby comes. My son was born at 27 weeks hugely poorly and spent ten weeks in NICU and my daughter at 37 weeks as no growth. So pregnancy isn't plain sailing for me. I also have a sibling with special needs who I support and a very aged parent in a nursing home. And I homeschool. Tell me it'll all be fine... Please?!

Alrowley · 10/06/2020 20:06

Good luck to everyone!

MorgenMuffel · 10/06/2020 20:09

@misssoaps I am very jealous of your clear skin and hair-free legs! Living the dream haha. Hope you are feeling less sick today.

@Harper04 I have ordered some bits from the simple "daily skin detox" range. I used to use one of their problem skin lines that they discontinued which I found effective, so hoping this stuff does the trick a bit too. Glad that you were able to see things on your early scan, and hope all goes well when you are back next time.

@Unicornpoop11, thanks for sharing. So pleased you managed to get the early scan and that the news was positive.

@Mermaidlagoon have you managed to talk to your other half any more about telling your closest people? I understand his concern about having to tell people if things go wrong, but if that does happen I am sure you will both need some support, so worth discussing again.

@MaryShelley1818 @OldMaBear @IamC I think I only dozed last night rather than actual sleep! @OldMaBear hope the seagull has learned its lesson haha.

@woollisox wow, things are happening fast for you! What did they cover on your booking in appointment?

@JemimaFuddleFuck have you booked your scan yet?

I am not doing my self referral until I have had my viability scan at the fertility clinic on the 23rd when I'll be 6+5. I don't want to have set things in motion and then have to cancel them if all is not well. I think we will then think about booking an early scan.

@OldMaBear how is your pain? I've had to stop using my spinal cord stimulator, so in a bit more pain than usual but to be expected.

MaryShelley1818 · 10/06/2020 20:15
@MaryShelley1818 it's worked out quite well getting the BFP and then taking some time out. I mean I'd rather be in Spain where I was supposed to be, but it's nice to be at home and chill and plan for the future a bit. Just a shame about the sleepless nights!
Yeah, it's definitely been nice to have some time off to try and let the news sink in!

I feel your pain, we had a trip to Barcelona cancelled in March, and then a trip to Holland cancelled in May. Desperate for a holiday xx

Mermaidlagoon · 10/06/2020 20:44

We've had a chat and agreed we could tell my mum to save the awkwardness of having to explain why I'm not drinking for my 30th. Although the weather looks like it might be bad now and we might have to rearrange as in the UK we can still only see family outside not in the house so at least might buy us a bit more time. I would prefer to wait to tell people too just really don't want to be having to lie

OldMaBear · 10/06/2020 21:15

@MorgenMuffel My pain is pretty bad tbh. I stopped all medication (tramadol, pregabalin and occasional oramorph) when we started TTC so I’ve been suffering for a while now. They tried to fit me with a spinal cord stimulator twice and both times it failed as apparently I’m wired wrong. When they believed they were in the right place for the site of my pain (right lower stomach) and turned the machine on, my left boob started twitching! The procedure also left me with back problems, similar to those people can experience after an epidural so all in all, not good.
My GP has been so supportive though and I know I can do this. I’m terrified of examinations of my stomach when they touch that area as I know I’ll go through the roof or pass out as I did once before but it’s all going to be worth it. I’m telling myself that now in the hope I’ll believe it one day!

OldMaBear · 10/06/2020 21:19

@misssoaps I can’t believe your leg hair stopped growing! I want that! Actually I think my DH wants it more as he’s the one who gets rubbed by my stubble in bed. It would also be so handy for when I can’t bend over due to a big baby bump to reach to shave them. I’ll also have to get my husband to paint my toenails for me, I think I’ll start training him now...

Is anyone else already rubbing their stomach and talking to it or am I actually going mad?

woollisox · 10/06/2020 21:24

@MorgenMuffel not much actually, just LMP, what to look out for, explained the process, asked about my first labour. She explained how it was all working during lockdown for our trust xx

Hettyturnip · 10/06/2020 21:35

Hello everyone! I had a complete shock today when I found out I'm pregnant! I have PCOS, I'm 37, obese, have 2DD (10 and 6) and I assumed babies were behind me... I've had 5 mc through my ttc years, so I'm cautiously joining. I got 3+ on the clear blue and I think I'm between 6-8 weeks.

JemimaFuddleFuck · 10/06/2020 21:39

@MorgenMuffel No, I’ve still not booked it. I’m not sure why not to be honest, I think when it’s booked it’s really happening and I’m kind of in that ‘REALLY?!’ phase at the moment Confused

Also very jealous of your hairless legs @misssoaps, mine are actually hairier than DH’s and yes @OldMaBear I’m not looking forward to the big bump in the way when the time comes! Although, I did manage to Nair my bush bikini line at 9 months pregnant last time Grin DH didn’t know where to look when he walked in!

I haven’t got any pregnancy film recommendations - I’m big into horror films, so not sure that will do!

Glad you and your husband have agreed to tell your mum @Mermaidlagoon.

We had a moment with MIL this morning where she mentioned DHs cousin was pregnant and said ‘I wonder when I will be telling people you two are having another’ DH kept his best poker face. We will probably tell our parents after the early scan.... which I must book. I’m going to do it tomorrow.... probably.

JemimaFuddleFuck · 10/06/2020 21:43

Oh and welcome to all the new BFPs, congratulations to you all!

woollisox · 10/06/2020 23:30

Early scan booked for 26th June! Will be 8+5.
Reassurance for me to make sure everything’s as it should be and check how many people are in there Grin
Congratulations to everyone joining!
@Signoritawhocansway I think a lot of people have fairly mixed emotions when they find out. I definitely did haha. I think you just find a way to manage, fingers crossed for you xx

MorgenMuffel · 11/06/2020 07:48

@woollisox ooh how exciting! Not too long to go. Sounds like your first appt wasn't anything special then!

@JemimaFuddleFuck well there is no rush really, book it when you are ready

@Mermaidlagoon glad you and your partner have come to an agreement. Am sure your mum will be delighted for you 😊

Welcome @Hettyturnip

@Signoritawhocansway it is such a mix of emotions. How was your test this morning?

@OldMaBear yes, I have been talking to it in my head at least, and hubby has been resting his hand in the area. I'm 5weeks today and its the size of a black peppercorn 😄

@oldmabear sorry they weren't able to fit you a stimulator, all sounds very frustrating. You are doing so amazingly though to have stopped all your pain meds. Great that your gp is so supportive and you are right, it will all be worth it!

Does anyone know how / when we can get the medical exemption certificate for prescriptions etc?

misssoaps · 11/06/2020 08:05

Don't be too jealous of my hairless legs, I also get really bad sickness in pregnancy usually all the way through 😩.

I'm going to book in with a midwife when I'm 6 weeks I think, I'm 5 weeks today.

Hows everyone feeling today? I feel a bit nauseous but nothing too bad yet!

BeeR2009 · 11/06/2020 08:35

Hey ladies,

Congratulations to everyone posting!!

What does it mean when people post the likes of 4+5? I'm very new to this all so still trying to work things out!

My last period was 16.05.2020 and following that was our first month TTC - my period is due today, but I got my first BFP on Monday which would mean I'm only 3.5 weeks, very early!

@JemimaFuddleFuck can I be added to the list please - estimates due date 20.02.2021 - age 28, first baby

Thanks!

misssoaps · 11/06/2020 08:47

Hi @BeeR2009 . 4+5 means 4 weeks 5 days I would imagine.
Congratulations and welcome!

SaraRita · 11/06/2020 08:48

JemimaFuddleFuck can you please I me to the list

EDD 12.02.2021, 2nd baby, age 36

I am looking for books for my 2.5yo about having a sibling. (Even we aren't telling her or anyone until the 12w scan.) Can anyone recommend any?
Thanks and congratulations to all :)

CocoaN · 11/06/2020 08:54

Morning! Please can I be added to the list 11/02/2021 1st baby and I'm 31.

I had a loss earlier in the year so have booked in for a private reassurance scan on 28th June when I'll be 8 weeks. I self referred to midwife last week and received 4 appointment letters! One is with phlebotomy midwife on 2nd July then a midwife appt on 8th July, then the 12 week scan at the end of July followed by a consultant appt! Wasn't expecting so many appointments!

Congrats to all the new BFPs 🥳😊

Vie8126 · 11/06/2020 08:56

Hi everyone! Joining as after a few faint positives got it confirmed this morning with a digital.

I'm 39 this is my 4th I have 2 DS who are 19 and 15 and a dd of 11 been a long time since I've done this so large age gaps between mine! My DP also has 3 ages 11,10 and 4 so number 7 overall I guess. EoWs will be fun for 2021 with 7 in the house Grin

We had been trying since November and after this month was going to call it a day due to age etc. NHS website says due date 19th Feb just a few days before my 40th birthday! AF was due Sat so super early days for me so praying everything works out okay.

As I entered my 2ww I was told I was being made redundant from end of July so have been job hunting but not sure what to do now but I definitely need to work between now and Feb!

Congratulations to all!

I think I’ve got everyone! Give me a shout if it’s wrong or you want to be added!

I’m definitely booking the early scan today. I’m officially 5 weeks so it feels a bit more real to me now.

@Vie8126 congrats on the BFP! Sorry about the job front, that’s an added pressure you don’t need at the moment. Fingers crossed you find something soon.

@CocoaN, I was the same when pregnant with my DD. I had a miscarriage beforehand, and it really takes some of the joy out of the whole experience for you. I had scans at 6 and 10 weeks then and obviously my 12 week. It’s fun to see how much they change in such a short period of time in the first trimester!

I’ve got a telephone appointment with the nurse tomorrow to just confirm my bloods and then I will book my booking in appointment. Then it’s all go from there, starting to feel excited about telling my parents. Has anyone considered how they are going to do it? We’ve got a WhatsApp group with DDs name on it - first grandchild so I send loads of pictures and videos - and I was thinking of just changing the name to GrandKIDS and changing the picture to DD holding the early scan picture and letting them figure it out Grin

Vie8126 · 11/06/2020 09:24

@jemimafuddlefuck thank you! Yes it is literally don't know what to do can't see me getting a perm job whilst pregnant so thinking of temping or something if I can even find that! Can I also be added to the list please?

I love your WhatsApp announcement idea I think it's lovely!!

misssoaps · 11/06/2020 09:28

@JemimaFuddleFuck that's a great idea!

Have no idea when we will tell people. This is my 5th so I think the novelty has worn off for other people 😂.

Vie8126 · 11/06/2020 09:37

@misssoaps we said the same as we already have 6 between us people will be like whyyyyyy rather than congrats haha. I'm more focused on what to tell my kids atm as they are so grown up they will prob be like mum ewwww. Told my DP he isn't to tell anyone yet as too early but can guarantee that by now at least 3 of his friends know as I know what he is like!

RubyFrench91 · 11/06/2020 09:43

Hello everyone!

Hope you don’t mind me joining in, @misssoaps told me about this thread. I am 5+1 according to last period putting my EDD at 10th Feb!

Will catch up with all the chats later. Congrats to all xx
