Hi all

I know theres nothing I can do but feeling super anxious. I had diarrhea yesterday evening and some vaginal discharge with some bright red blood streaks in it. Today I have had dark brown discharge and even a couple of what could be tiny blood clots? It's not so much as to be on my underwear yet but is there when I wipe and I feel like a heavy dull ache almost in my uterus. I don't know if I'm being overly sensitive. Midwife has said to wait and see if turns into period like flow and if so to go to a and e but id really rather not go a and e in this current climate.

Guess I'm just looking for advice on how long it'll be to develop if it is a MC and if anyone has been through similar and it worked out ok?? :(

I think it’s nothing to worry about unless you don’t have any pain it could be implantation bleeding

Zero123787 · 20/05/2020 17:48

Is it continue or has been stopped

Violetlilac · 20/05/2020 17:55

What do you mean? It's been on and off since last night. Noticeable when I wipe but not heavier than that yet. I do feel kind of crampy. My period was due on the 14th and I read implantation bleeding happens before that?

Honestly, it could go either way. This happened in my first pregnancy at 11 weeks, some tiny brown spotting, then 24 hours later it was some small red spotting, then another 24 hours until it became intense cramping and heavy bleeding with clots. I had to go straight to hospital.

My third pregnancy, I had some brown and red spotting with a few tiny clots at 5 weeks, along with dull cramping. It went on for maybe a week or 9 days. I'm 23 weeks along now and all is well.

I really hope things work out for you OP. The waiting is really hard. Rest as much as possible and contact your hospital again if it gets worse. Thanks

Hi Violetlilac, I'm going through something very similar right now, I started spotting last Friday at 5 weeks.... just there when I wipe, pink/red, and because I had slight left sided pain I had a scan at my EPU on tuesday, nothing was seen, no sign of ectopic but no sign of baby just yet, they said my uterus had thickened so showed sign of a pregnancy, I had some bloods done and we are repeating tomorrow to see if they have doubled. Every midwife/doctor I saw said bleeding can be completely normal and unfortunately some people bleed throughout and sometimes they cant find a reason why. I think if your not having pain and its not enough to fill a pad, just try to hold on to that hope! Its difficult I know, I'm on day 6 of the spotting now, just hoping to get some answers tomorrow. If you get worried you could ring your local EPU and see if they would scan you or do some bloods? Take care of yourself xx

PippinStar · 20/05/2020 18:01

Sorry - I don't know where the "thanks" at the end of my message came from!

Violetlilac · 20/05/2020 18:08

Thanks. I kind of suspected I just have to wait and see what happens :( is so hard!! I will try to give it a few days and then maybe call doctors. I'm worried to go hospital but I suppose I have to if it turns bad! It's such a weird space to be in. The next week or two will go so slowly!

I’m sorry you’re facing this. It is worrying when this happens. It happened to me and I did miscarry a twin. However my mum bled every month for the first four months when pregnant. It is just too difficult to say. Hope it goes the best way for you Flowers

Violetlilac · 20/05/2020 18:12

Thanks @tildaturnip sorry to hear that. Did the other twin survive?

TildaTurnip · 20/05/2020 18:13

They did thankfully. This has happened to a couple of friends too.

mamascorpio · 20/05/2020 18:13

I had this with my dC, had a scan at 6 weeks before I went on a long distance flight. It continued for most of the 1st 3 months and was all fine.

Hugs

2007Millie · 20/05/2020 18:23

Had very heavy bleeding between 5-7 weeks.
All turned out absolutely fine. DS is now 18 months

I'm going through something similar myself at the mo. 5 +5 and started bleeding last sunday. Lots when I wipe but nothing has come out on a pad. Had some mild cramping but no real pain. It's the waiting, and not knowing for sure thats getting to me. I'm 90% that its a miscarriage, but I still feel pregnant and its getting me down. I've had bloods today, and having another set on friday, so should have an answer then, if HGC has dropped. I hope the original poster has a positive outcome. Keeping my fingers crosses for you, and everyone going through this at the moment xx

Violetlilac · 20/05/2020 21:01

@coffeecup01 so sorry to hear you're going through the same. What makes you sure it's a MC? Midwife just said if becomes heavy like period go a and e but otherwise see how it goes. I might call my doctor next week if it hasn't gotten better or gone one way or the other. I keep waiting for a "flood" :/ :( xx

OP posts:
Coffeecup01 · 20/05/2020 22:56

I guess just because of the colour and the fact there was some small clots (sorry tmi). The midwife and the early pregnancy unit both think its a miscarriage. Although I haven't seen anyone, just had telephone consultations. I'll know for sure on monday morning, when the second blood test comes back with the HGC. I too am waiting for that flood. I'm sick of going to the bathroom to check. Have your gp take some bloods and then repeat in a couple days to see if your levels have gone up. Not knowing for sure is the worst. I really hope all is well for you xx

Zero123787 · 21/05/2020 09:24

I am 6 weeks+ 5 days and had yeast and urine infection last week , being treated with antibiotics and pessary and I started spotting last week which came to heavy bleeding since yesterday 😢😢

My pregnancy symptoms are fading as well , I have scan tomorrow which was billed as normal weeks ago and now will be confirmation of miscarriage

I am so upset as we conceive after three years , I was about to touch seven weeks . I am thinking I can’t bear this pain

Violetlilac · 21/05/2020 13:11

@Zero123787 I'm so sorry to hear this. Hugs try to look after yourself and give yourself time to grieve. Also try to remember that it's highly unlikely to have two MC in a row, if you were to try again in future xxx

Violetlilac · 21/05/2020 13:14

@Coffeecup01 I'm sorry :( why are they so sure if you haven't had extensive bleeding though? I hope your test results will be ok. 🤞 My GP is closed. It is the uncertainty that's so hard! I'm so on edge. Just willing time to go by. I've had some more discharge today but it seems to be clearer. Not had a big bleed yet. X

@RoseWharf thank you! It's the anxiety and not knowing that gets to me. Hate that I can't do anything but wait and see. And I can't speak to anyone either as too early! Glad I have this place. Trying to just keep myself busy. Good to hear you're doing ok now though!

OP posts:
Violetlilac · 21/05/2020 13:16

@2007Millie oh wow did they know what it was?? That must have been so scary for you! I just want to get through the next few weeks :(

OP posts:
Violetlilac · 21/05/2020 13:16

@mamascorpio oh wow! Okay. Fingers crossed all will be well. I think I'll push for bloods/ scan in a week or two if the worst hasn't happened x

OP posts:
Coffeecup01 · 21/05/2020 13:55

@violetlilac I thought that too. But what the epu said, was that sometimes a miscarriage can takes weeks of light bleeding, rather than a few days of heavy bleeding. My doctor said that making me wait two weeks not knowing was wrong, so he arranged the two blood tests a couple of days appart so ill know. Trouble is my second test is Friday at 11. So ill have to wait till monday for the results ☹
It's starting to get to me now. I had a good cry this morning. My other half is upset too. I really feel for you and am keeping everything crossed. Let us know how you get on xx
