@Skyla01 oh interesting - well my one at 7 weeks is defs in person as they said to go to the hospital as they're not doing them at the GP currently because of Covid. But yeah I think you're right, bloods and scan at 12 weeks and from the nhs website I think this first one is maybe just a chat/weighing you etc. Maybe it varies by area, will be interested to hear how yours goes though!

lemorella · 22/05/2020 18:12

Hi all,

Just wanted to hop on the thread. Found out I'm pregnant today with 2nd, first is 11 months!!

Excited and terrified Grin

Popcat120 · 22/05/2020 18:24

@positivetime I've had to tell work pretty much as soon as I got my BFP.
Altho it was a waste of time as my manager thinks coming into work (during covid) is the same risk as going to the supermarket...
I think not!
I'm just doing my best to avoid suspected or confirmed covid.
Luckily were in a outpatient department and do some inpatients, so it is a low risk area compared to some wards!

I think in this time, it's understandable to tell managers a bit earlier. I'm sure most will be understanding!

Wheezeymcleazy · 22/05/2020 18:35

Hi everyone 👋
I'm 5+3 today and not my first baby.
I'm not quite ready to join the FB group yet so thought I'd pop on here if that's ok? 😊

Carabu1 · 22/05/2020 18:35

Hi all. Just checking in to report back on my scan today - 8+1 and it’s all looking good! Bang on for size, heartbeat, and it was so lovely to have husband there - he actually cried (with happiness, I hope?!). I’m feeling so so much better, and it’s reassured me my complete lack of symptoms doesn’t mean that there is anything wrong with me!! Going to try and hold out for 12 weeks now (assuming I ever get a date) and try to be a bit more chill. We shall see how long that’s lasts...

Hope everyone’s feeling well. Congratulations @lemorella!

Carabu1 · 22/05/2020 18:36

@Wheezeymcleazy congratulations!

Wheezeymcleazy · 22/05/2020 18:40

@Carabu1 thank you ! 😊
Lovely news that your scan went well. I've booked a reassurance / dating scan for 8 weeks to make sure all is ok. I also felt it would be nicer having a picture to show my family when telling them. Might sound daft but is it a clear wee baby shape at 8 weeks ? I've only ever had really early scans or 13weeks+ lol

Carabu1 · 22/05/2020 18:52

@wheezymcleazy it’s definitely vaguely baby shaped. You can see a head anyway. Like a little alien. I think I’m going to try and hold out for my 12 week one to tell parents - hopefully that will be ever more human shaped.!

BabyDust13 · 22/05/2020 19:20

I've just booked a scan for 8+1 on the 13th June I'm nervous and excited it's going to be a long 3 weeks

Congratulations on your BFPs and scans that you have been to recently ☺️

Skyla01 · 22/05/2020 19:47

@BabyG123 that is with the midwife at GP surgery. When I booked the receptionist didn't actually say what type of appointment it was! So I'm assuming it's over the phone but I'll need to check. That's nice you are meeting in person. They might do bloods then? I think everywhere seems to be doing different things atm.

@Carabu1 that's great to hear! My 12 am scan seems so far away.

@Popcat120 I don't mind telling my manager, we get on well, I just don't want to tell (somewhat random) people so early. Especially if anything goes wrong... but think I will be forced to next week. Realised I'm quite a private person. But nevermind.

Welcome to new peeps!

Wheezeymcleazy · 22/05/2020 20:30

@Carabu1 aw that's great 😊 I can't wait til my 12 week one as it's killing me not telling my mum yet haha. But I want to wait til I know all is ok.
@BabyDust13 mine is on the 13th of June also ! It's private so my hubby can join me 😊

BabyG123 · 22/05/2020 20:53

@Skyla01 only my 12 weeks is in person 8 weeks in the phone. Xx

Sunshinedahlia · 22/05/2020 21:43

Hi everyone! Hope it‘s ok to join this thread. I‘m 4+2, first baby, found out 4 days ago. Excited and nervous!

Baba11 · 22/05/2020 22:30

@Carabu1 I'm so happy that the scan went well and you saw your beautiful baby. Must have been so excited. Definitely helps us all who are anxious because our symptoms are disappearing.

@doji789 congrats. I can totally relate to the bloating. Especially come this time of the evening.

Congrats and welcome to all the other new comers. This is going to be an amazing journey, so happy to share it with you all...

BabyDust13 · 22/05/2020 22:51

@Sunshinedahlia congratulations

doji789 · 22/05/2020 22:54

@Baba11
Congrats to you also 😀
Glad to hear I'm not the only one with the bloating! I'm not eating as much as my appetite has shrunk. Hopefully the uncomfortable bloating will go a little once things settle a bit more.
What number pregnancy is this for you?

@Skyla01
Yes I agree definitely makes it a little easier when you can hibernate and don't have to face people 🙊

I'm not on the Facebook group. Can anybody tell me know how I join? X

Baba11 · 22/05/2020 22:58

@doji789 this will be my third but had a mc last year. So very anxious ..

Littlepeas2 · 22/05/2020 22:59

Hi everyone. I hope you don’t mind me joining. I recognise some of your names from other threads :)

My LMP dates make me 5+5 but on the calculators on line I’m 4+5 as I have a 34 day cycle!

Looking forward to getting to know you all better on this journey :)

BabyDust13 · 22/05/2020 23:00

@Littlepeas2 hey 😊

doji789 · 22/05/2020 23:16

@Baba11
I'm sorry to hear that, I can't imagine how hard that must be.

Totally get why you're anxious. I always think the 1st trimester is the hardest mentally. Nobody or very few no about the pregnancy so you're holding lots in plus you don't have the kicks or movements yet to reassure you everything is ok & not much support before 12 weeks from midwifes/scans etc. X

Baba11 · 22/05/2020 23:36

@doji789 exactly
But luckily we have each other on here to get us through
Can't wait till we all get past the 12weeks mark and can finally enjoy being pregnant

Jellybean252 · 23/05/2020 00:00

@Carabu1 congratulations. Glad to hear your scan went well!!

Sunshinedahlia · 23/05/2020 05:57

Thankyou @BabyDust13

BabyG123 · 23/05/2020 07:08

OMG the nausea and dizziness is unreal. I actually called a midwife yesterday wondering if nearly falling over through dizziness is normal. Apparently it's the hormones.

Can't believe it as didn't have any symptoms with DS1 so I guess it's taken me by surprise. Google obviously told me it's a sign of twins 🤪
