Hey @MayBug2020 we are bang on the same dates the 7 weeks today?! Aw bless you I know the feeling. I feel scared getting out of bed in the morning, I’m still just lying here. I haven’t actually been sick yet but been close and sometimes feel like nausea feeling is worse!! I can smell everything though any little smell makes me Wretch... tmi lol! I feel like I’m wishing this whole 1st trimester away but it’s the most worrying trimester and just not enjoying it. Omg yes the tiredness is unreal :( I feel like I could sleep standing up. So hard with a toddler to look after too :(. Are you getting an early scan or holding out? I’ll probs hold out

Lollipop93 · 02/06/2020 07:55

Oh sorry just noticed you said you were 6+6 today! But still so close!

Sophiamel987 · 02/06/2020 07:56

Hi Everyone, I have just joined mumsnet this morning as I was hoping to find a forum for January babies. I had a miscarriage in November 2019 and I found out 2 weeks ago that I’m pregnant again with a little help from metformin! I am 6 weeks pregnant today and feeling a little anxious. It will be good to chat with you all 🙂

Lollipop93 · 02/06/2020 08:03

Congrats @sophiamel987 and welcome :) it’s good we are all here for each other!

lilypad88 · 02/06/2020 08:04

@Hopefulmummie oh that's weird... bit silly then... Mine said I could have done from week 6 but in the end I pushed my appointment until week 7 to have a better visual. I think if you are really worried find somewhere they do from 6 weeks but if you can wait I would til week 7 so you can see clearly the heartbeat and everything :) happy to hear that you feel better at least! And Happy Anniversary! 🥰

@WoolyMammoth55 oh sorry to hear that :( not worth it indeed.... I guess I'll have to fight against my cleaning OCD and let dp do it then 😐 Thanks for the advice! X

Hopefulmummie · 02/06/2020 08:05

@sophiamel987 congratulations. Do you know what date you are due?

MarvEll · 02/06/2020 08:25

Threw up for the first time this morning 🤢 for some reason I always thought pregnancy would be easy. My sister had three in three years and never seemed to have any problems. But after the stress of just getting pregnant, now I'm worried about things going wrong and I feel sick and headachey all the time. @Lollipop93 same - wishing away these first weeks!!

BabyG123 · 02/06/2020 08:50

@MayBug2020 being in childcare myself but an aux pair I don't have a board or anything to go to. No way of working from home and will be doing the school drop offs in a few weeks time too.

@Lollipop93 thank you! I have been trying to catch up on all of your posts haha and feel better already.
@Hopefulmummie I think I’m due the 26th January, I have my first appointment with the midwife on the 12th June for the booking appointment. When are you due?

Hopefulmummie · 02/06/2020 09:27

@sophiamel987 I'm due 30th jan. I haven't had any contact from midwife yet. I'm not sure if they're just doing the booking appointment over the phone atm

Have you had any symptoms?

Lollipop93 · 02/06/2020 09:44

@MarvEll. My head is killing me this morning Sad I’m so moany sorry girls but it’s hard going all this lol

Sophiamel987 · 02/06/2020 09:51

@Hopefulmummie ahhh we are very close together then! Congratulations 😊
My midwife contacted me last week but probably depends how busy they are in your area. She is going to do my appointment by the phone and she directed me to the gov.uk website to read about screening tests.
I have been very tired and a little bit sickly. My sense of smell has definitely got stronger. So far so good really!
What about you?

Hopefulmummie · 02/06/2020 09:57

@sophiamel987 hopefully mine contacts me soon will be good to get things sorted.

I felt a but rough when I first found out but atm I've no symptoms at all except cramping and I have been spotting last few days hoping it's nothing though

Sophiamel987 · 02/06/2020 10:04

I have had a little bit of cramping too, more so last week but seems to have settled. Have you contacted the midwife? Might ease your mind a little bit. It’s good that you are being positive 🙂

Hopefulmummie · 02/06/2020 10:12

@sophiamel987 yeah I contacted them yesterday but cause of coronavirus they arent bringing anyone in for early scans :( they assured me it was normal though and only to go down to a and e if it was heavy bleeding.
I was tempted to book a 6 week scan for this weekend but apparently the heartbeat might not even show this early

Sophiamel987 · 02/06/2020 10:36

Ahh right! It’s difficult at this time but also been a blessing for me as I’ve been allowed to work from home and I’ve felt the rest useful!
Just keep an eye on it hun and try not to worry even though that is completely normal. I think from experience a early scan is quite stressful because if you can’t see what you want to see it will make you more anxious even though everything will probably be fine. As you said it can be normal for women to have cramping and bleeding throughout pregnancy.

I am having the same predicament on whether to have a early scan as I had scan after scan for weeks when I had my missed miscarriage in November and found it quite stressful. I think I might wait until week 8 or 9 to make sure but everyone is different and you need to do what you think is right 🙂 @Hopefulmummie

Hopefulmummie · 02/06/2020 10:40

@sophiamel987 I know that's whats putting me off. I have a private scan booked anyway for 8 weeks so think I will just wait until that and hope the bleeding stops

Sophiamel987 · 02/06/2020 10:46

Ahh well that’s good that you have one booked in! Hope your ok and keep us updated @Hopefulmummie

Pol96 · 02/06/2020 10:57

Those of you who have morning sickness.. How did it start with you? The last 3 days I've felt a bit sick, especially after eating, but not too bad.. Is this the start??

TerribleImagination · 02/06/2020 11:40

@Pol96 I felt slightly nauseas until one day I just couldn’t stomach the thought (or smell) of most food 🤢 Also couldn’t finish a brew because that made me feel sick too! Been on the beige food diet for a couple of weeks now 😆 Can’t remember the last time I ate a proper dinner!

Thank you @TerribleImagination and @Babyboom1990 and sorry yours is so bad! I'm 6+5 today so about the right time for it to be starting. There's no food I fancy eating at all.. Even chocolate which my dp thinks is hilarious! I just have a constant feeling of nausea and it gets worse when I've eaten.

Littlepeas2 · 02/06/2020 12:02

@pol96 this is me exactly! I am a Diet Coke and chocolate lover and I can’t stomach the thought of having either. I’ve lost 3lb this week 😂 I just need to find something I fancy and that doesn’t make me feel sick and then I will be fine. With my first pregnancy I literally lived on coco pops!!

Pol96 · 02/06/2020 12:05

@Littlepeas2 I've lost a few pounds too! I really don't know what to try, literally nothing seems appealing to me..
