I've just found out I'm pregnant, probably only about 6 weeks so very early days. I've also got a 6.5 month old! Before people jump on me for being stupid, I am pleased and obviously knew this could happen, we weren't using protection. However, we had to do IVF to have DS after trying for a long time, and I'm full time breastfeeding, so we thought the chances were very slim! As I said, I'm pleased, but also a bit terrified about having a newborn and a 15 month old. And a bit embarrassed about going back to work from maternity leave heavily pregnant!
I'd love to hear any comforting stories about others' similar experiences? Any practical advice? No horror stories/scaremongering please 😬

Both mine were good sleepers which really helped.

Different personalities but both very laid back.

As a point of note, we had to move the crib up high when DS2 was in it as DS1 was a bit pokey and also liked to try to feed him things and at 13 months, it's difficult to explain. It was better after a few months. I know you shouldn't really separate them and it's not like we weren't supervising but you need eyes in the back of your head. Grin

@Gabbbbbbby i'm back to work mid august, then i'll earn enough in the time period to revieve my SMP and then back off in january! I was really looking forward to going back and getting a bit of normality back into my life but now i'm worried as i work in retail (but i am a manager so i will have plenty of office work to do) the thought of it all is really started to scare me haha!

@Gabbbbbbby I told work last week. They were fine but they have no choice to be really! I've had to give 8 weeks notice to end my maternity leave early so I can get paid maternity leave for the new baby, wasn't meant to return to work until mid October when I'd be about 30 weeks. I'll be starting my maternity at the end of November though (due xmas day) as I don't think I'll cope with full time shift work, 1 year old and being over 35 weeks pregnant! When are you planning on telling work? When will you be starting maternity leave?

Just to let you guys know. I had my second scan this morning and a baby with a heartbeat was found, very relieved. Due around the 19th of January. Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Unfortunately I'm out guys. I had some bad one sided abdominal pain, so went in for a few tests and it turns out my hormone levels weren't rising enough. They think it was probably ectopic. Started bleeding yesterday 😔

Good luck with all of yours!! I think we'll wait a little while before trying/doing IVF again.

@Gabbbbbbby I’m sorry. I’ve been where you are 18 months ago.
Really thought I was this still too, but had the ok.
Hopefully you can try again soon

So sorry to read that @Gabbbbbbby.

Up until that post I was reading these feeling a little relieved as I could well find myself in this position and I don’t particularly feel ready for another baby. DD is just 6 months and me and DP had unprotected sex a couple of weeks ago - our first time since she was born hence no contraception! ah! If I am pregnant I just can’t imagine doing all of this again so soon.
