After a year of TTC I got a BFP 5 days ago (I'm 40), 2 previous children 7+ years ago.
I've never had a MC but I feel like I might be heading that way now.

I know there is nothing I can do and the chances weren't exactly in my favour but I wonder if anyone could say if this sounded like a worrying sign.... I've had brown discharge and cramps for the past 2 days. Getting browner and more profuse but not needing to wear a pad or take pain relief yet. Pretty much just how my periods start (I often spot for days before)

Anyone had similar? I'm wondering what to expect next.... wish it would hurry up and start if that's what's going to happen.

I've had no pg symptoms, but I didn't have with my other pregnancies until 6 weeks.

From my last post I meant pee not seeBlush.

I also had no bleeding or any sign of a miscarriage, my symptoms actually got stronger.

I've had bleeding with my current pregnancy and was monitored very closely - every few days I'd go for bloods until I reached 1500 HCG and that's when I had a scan to confirm baby was ok and had a scan every 2 weeks until I was around 20 weeks x

I'm quite moved by all these stories. We really bear so much as women for our babies.
@MariposaPink I'm looking forward to cuddling the children tonight and sniffing their hair. Back to work tomorrow and steel myself for another pointless month of TTC with my old eggs.
How are you feeling today?

@Icouldstillbejoseph More than they know! Or until our daughter’s become mothers themselves!
I know that feeling. On Friday when I started bleeding I sat with my daughter and squeezed her tightly. She obviously didn’t know what was going on but I had this yearning in my chest just to be near her.
Don’t be defeated! Remain positive. It's so hard to find that balance; trying to be positive yet emotionally detached in order to protect our hearts is completely contradictory when it comes to what we truly desire. I met someone recently who fell pregnant at 46 with only one ovary and Fallopian tube. She had a trouble free pregnancy and birthed a very healthy baby. She actually had 4 babies over the age of 35, 2 of them over the age of 40. As you have low progesterone, have you spoken to your GP about progesterone creams/pessaries?
I’m doing ok. I’ve only had dull cramps. No more clotting since Friday. Bleeding only when wiping. I had a great night sleep last night too! Must have been knackered. But this worries me slightly. Could it be the calm before the storm?? My MMC was medically managed and I have never experienced agony like it. I thought I was dying. So I expected to be writhing all over the place and screaming blue murder by now yet it’s quite the opposite. All is calm. This morning I woke up and my boobs were full and on fire again Sad I feel cheated.
Oh and the gin didn't go down as nicely as I thought it would so left half a glass. #abandonedgin #cardinalsin

@Chez2306 I’m sorry to hear that you had an MMC and hyperemesis. I had hyperemesis with my DD and it was no joke. So to go through that and have no baby, I can understand at how soul destroying it was for you. I’ve also had an MMC so I really sympathise.
But what wonderful news that you are pregnant again and although it’s been worrying for you, you will be holding your baby in your arms soon. Bear

Before you corrected your post, I did wonder how hyperemesis caused blindness! Lol! It wouldn’t have surprised me though; all that violent dry heaving for weeks on end. Enough to pop anyone’s eyes out of their head. Confused

Thank you ☺️ bleeding lighter today, no cramps. So true what you said, so exciting and you fill your head with all these thoughts and plans and then bam!!! They all just come crashing down. It’s emotional to say the least. All of you are brave and strong and how we get the strength to try again is just amazing! Look at Sue Redford (22 kids and counting) she’s had miscarriages, a still birth and yet still went on to have more. It just shows not everyone at every time gets it right, but when the time is right, you’ll have that baby and all will be fine xxxx Don’t give up if that’s what you really want. We all still have good eggs (I hope) mine may be getting a bit crusty but I’m sure there’s a fresh shiny one in there just waiting x

@Vikki6 glad to hear your bleeding is lighter and you have no cramping.
Gosh, Sue is a real-life Supermum! I should sit in her chair or drink from her glass...might bring me some luck! Lol!

Did any of you have a rising hcg during this? I have all the miscarriage symptoms (had one in November) passed a large clot but my hcg has tripled in 48 hours. This is my second pregnancy, no previous children
