@hollyyyg welcome! ouh I think maybe boy :)

lionsmum · 19/05/2020 15:51

@roro87 so sorry to hear about your grandmother passing away💖 I'm so glad that your scan went well though, perhaps a gift from her, if you are into that thinking😊

@Hollyyyg welcome! & what a lovely scan pic

Eskdale2004 · 19/05/2020 16:24

@roro87 lovely scan photo. What a rollercoaster of a day you’re having. Thinking of you. I lost my granny on NYE. You think they’re going to be alive forever. FWIW is like to think that she was with you today x

hollyjg · 19/05/2020 16:39

You're in my thoughts @roro87 I'm sure she would of been in that room with you today 💐🌷

Welcome @Hollyyyg our usernames are so similar I got a shock for a second lol!
Lovely picture!

Just found out that we can't take our son to our private scan and no one to watch him so bf can't go which is one of the main reasons we wanted to do it other then finding out gender! Feeling a bit deflated about it. He was looking forward to being a part of the process

Hollyyyg · 19/05/2020 16:41

@hollyjg haha I saw that! Thank you!

skinnyhotchoc · 19/05/2020 16:45

@hollyjg I've got the same issue on Thursday. No babysitter so I think I'll have to go the the private scan alone

MrsSmith2020 · 19/05/2020 17:07

@roro87 that's a lovely scan pic

@Hollyyyg congratulations and lovely pic too

Can't wait to see ours on Thursday

Just back from GP - had an appointment with an actual human doctor Shock and he said I can take Stemetil so I've just tried my first dose - fingers crossed the nauseating feeling and vomiting subsides!

peachypetite · 19/05/2020 17:11

God, I’m absolutely starving today!! What are your fave snacks?

MrsSmith2020 · 19/05/2020 17:15

@peachypetite anything beige!! Fruit pastille ice lollies have also been great

MummyShark97 · 19/05/2020 17:19

@peachypetite been loving olives today and cucumber with dip!

PipTed · 19/05/2020 17:39

@MrsSmith2020 fruit pastille ice lollies are a god send for nausea and pregnancy flush!

@peachypetite I’m loving carrot sticks and hummus at the moment and any type of crisps with dips, oh and I’ve become quite the baker and cake eater in lockdown. Grin

Now I’m feeling a bit better, I am finding it easier to make more healthy choices, when snacking though - still crave sweet stuff though Cake

Dee96 · 19/05/2020 17:40

Hi everyone joining the thread I'm 12 plus weeks finally got my scan this Friday, it's my first pregnancy so I only have a sort of rough idea on what the scan entails, but since the current lockdown situation will a partner or family member be able to accompany me or is there still a restriction on this? Will the also be doing bloods then as I recieved two very confusing letters for my appointment one saying I needed my bloods done in advance another saying I'll have it done all together?

Eskdale2004 · 19/05/2020 18:04

Ever feel like there’s no one to pick up your slack but you spend every waking minute picking up everyone else’s?

We got DSD & DD off school as well as our almost 1 YO. I’m knackered. OH has come in. He does nothing around the house, he does what he can with the kids when he can but it’s difficult with his job etc. He’s just asked me what’s for dinner.

To be honest, after trying and failing to get the eldest two to do some school work, listening to their incessant arguing, trying to stop the tot from seriously hurting herself and feeling as though I’ve already made eleventy billion meals today and keep the house from looking like a bomb has hit, the last thing I want to do is cook. I feel nauseous and tired. He’s sat on the sofa expecting me to whistle something up. So mad with him for being so useless.

excitednerves · 19/05/2020 18:38

@eskdale2004 I feel you! I have a 10 month old and DH is working from home so he knows how busy it is. After doing dinner for baby, playing, bath, bed, washing up, put the toys away, DH will still say “what’s for dinner?” Ummm I’m pregnant and run off my feet, I’m having whatever’s in the fridge that can go in the microwave

excitednerves · 19/05/2020 18:47

Congrats to everyone who had scans today!

@roro87 what an emotional day for you. Sending a virtual hug your way.

@Dee96 I had to go to my scan alone. It was absolutely fine but just a shame My husband couldn’t be there. I had my scan first and then as baby was OK and I had opted for the combined test (for Downs, Edwards & Pataus) I had the bloods done afterwards. It’s a weird time to be pregnant. This is my second (at the same hospital) and I have to say the team were outstanding first time round and it’s clear they are going out of their way to keep things as normal as possible. I hope it’s a good experience for you too.

ChampooPapi · 19/05/2020 18:50

@MummyShark97 fantastic news to see your update 💜🙌 I'm definitely thinking girl again by the skull so we will see 🧐

@roro87 so pleased to see everything is ok with your little baby. Take care of yourself lovely 💜

Congratulations to everyone else so far today who has been scanned, I'm sorry but our thread moves so fast it is such an active one I know I've missed a lot even from the last 8 hours!

Welcome @Hollyyyg and any new ladies 👣

Who's being scanned tomorrow? I know there are a few thursday and Friday coming up.

I will upload my photo tomorrow from yesterday, my daughter has them in her room, she stole them immediately when I walked through the door yesterday

@Eskdale2004 gosh that sounds really stressful.

Is there any way you can gently explain to him how much it would mean to you if he made dinner every other evening?

You need someone to take care of you. It must be exhausting

ChampooPapi · 19/05/2020 18:54

@Eskdale2004 god he is a sod isn't he! It's like bloody hell man just make a sandwich and bring the woman some iced water while she has a bath.

Sometimes you just have to walk away and do what is right for you. But I obviously know with children and particularly their round the clock need for food or snacks or ice lolly's (I have caved so many times to the lolly the last month). It is relentless. It is like you are and unpaid kitchen prep and chef rolled into one most days, but with them all home is on another level

He needs to pull his finger out and do dinner really for himself, or everyone to be frank

MummyShark97 · 19/05/2020 18:57

@ChampooPapi thank you lovely! I have to say I've had a feeling all along that it's a girl but didn't dare say it out loud haha! Happy to be proven wrong though - just very much looking forward to finding out what we're having as part of this amazing journey! x

MySafeSpace · 19/05/2020 18:59

@ChampooPapi mine is tomorrow and I'm trying not to stress or worry as what will be will be

skinnyhotchoc · 19/05/2020 19:16

@Eskdale2004 you make me feel guilty lol. My dh expects none if these things. He does all the cooking!! I think I started as I meant to go on with him though as never cooked for him when we were dating. He still manages to be annoying in other respects though. I think he does the cooking because he enjoys it and I have to do all the cleaning up afterwards and he can't use 1 pan, when 10 will suffice.
My harmony is Thursday. I can't say I'm looking forward to it at all. I just watched life and birth on iplayer ( anyone else see it?) and a lady on it was having a baby with Down's syndrome. She was so happy and grateful. Literally sobbed watching it.

ChampooPapi · 19/05/2020 19:49

@MummyShark97 it's so exciting isn't it! Really looking forward to the next trimester and the summer now. That scan photo just screams 'i'm a girl!'. I'd put money on it

(Though only like 20 quid just in case 😆)
