5 weeks pregnant!

Had some early pregnancy complications :( thought I was miscarrying but had an early scan and they found a sac. Got blood taken 48 hours apart and HCG has doubled. Getting my blood taken again in another 48 hours again to see what’s happening...

I’m going to attach the picture of my scan. Wanting to hear some positive stories to keep myself feeling positive.

@Jane2711

Hi
Aww that is great to know everything is ok. Did they see a heartbeat or is too early?!
If your hog levels are doubling that is a great sign. Sounds like they are doing all the can and baba is exactly what they expect for 5 weeks.

Jane2711 · 12/05/2020 15:30

@Baba11 no they couldn’t see anything like that because it’s soo early Smile. I think if my HCG levels double again I’m getting sent for another scan next week.

Was really concerning because I had loads of blood and a doctor dipped my urine, said you’re probably having a miscarriage then sent me home. But I had already had a scan booked because of the shooting pain I was having, so they wanted to rule out ectopic pregnancy. It wasn’t that and they done the scan and seen the little sac, despite all my bleeding. Just really confused now, didn’t expect to see it let alone have my hormones double!

@Jane2711 wat a blessing.
Some women bleed throughout pregnancy so try not to worry too much.

Jane2711 · 12/05/2020 15:58

@baba11 thank you, I really hope it is and I don’t experience any bad news. The bleeding was quite concerning! X

Baba11 · 12/05/2020 16:21

@Jane2711 of course any bleeding would be worrying. Was it coupled with cramping too?
You must try and get some rest
I don't know about you but the days are dragging soooo much

Jane2711 · 12/05/2020 17:01

@Baba11 yeah it was really bad cramping that’s why I was convinced that was it!! The women on the scan said my bowels were moving like crazy so that could’ve caused some of the pain but it was defo something happening in my stomach!

Yeah they are, can’t wait for this all to be over and life back to normal xxx

@Jane2711, it sounds (and looks) like your baby is coming along nicely Smile.
Can I ask what your hcg levels were? Mine are (worryingly) low at the moment and I could be around 5 weeks myself.

Jane2711 · 12/05/2020 17:40

@needadvice1233

Thank you. Hopefully everything is ok!

On early Saturday morning they were 28. Think this was about 5 days after I found out I was pregnant. By the Monday they were 58. What are yours?

OP posts:
Needadvice1233 · 12/05/2020 17:46

@Jane2711
Mine have been very slowly rising, and I'm just hoping its not ectopic:
26th April = 32
28th April = 52
30th April = 52
7th May = 79
I had a scan yesterday and they couldnt see anything, so they want me to come back in 2 weeks for more bloodwork.
The waiting is hard.
Wishing you all the best Smile

Jane2711 · 12/05/2020 17:51

@needadvice1233

That’s a good sign it’s rising. If you’re struggling to wait, I’d definitely call up if you can get blood tests sooner, your health comes first. I hope it’s not ectopic for you, that’s what they thought mines could be but a scan showed it wasn’t, maybe request one of them? It will keep your mind at ease.

Jane2711 · 12/05/2020 17:53

@Needadvice1233 that’s my full scan, I’m hoping there’s a baby growing in there but it’s hard to see. I also think the bleeding might have came from the dark bit beside the sac, or they black dots on the right.

5 weeks pregnant!

@Jane2711 I think your scan definitely looks positive! It is so difficult to see when it's so early on.
I think I will ask for a repeat scan next week. Two weeks feels too long to wait when it could be ectopic.
Thank you for sharing your story, it has brought a little hope to mine FlowersFlowersFlowers

Jane2711 · 12/05/2020 18:07

@needadvice1233

Thank you. It’s crazy that this was after all the bleeding. Don’t know whether to expect my levels to double or go down tomorrow but I’ll give an update when I get my results back Flowers

Yes definitely. That’s what I would do. It’s your body and your baby, early pregnancy can be so hard but I’m confident you will get a good result SmileFlowers x

I would agree with @Jane2711 it is promising to see your hcg increase. 12 weeks is a tough wait but we are in it together. We will get they it ladies.
We are stronger than we think!

Wish these days would go bit quicker tho

Needadvice1233 · 19/05/2020 07:11

@Jane2711 how did your scan go?
I’m still waiting to have more bloods done so no update yet from me.

Jane2711 · 19/05/2020 08:33

@Needadvice1233 unfortunately I had a very early miscarriage, hopefully my time comes soon. How are you feeling though? Good luck to you🙏🏼Flowers

OP posts:
Needadvice1233 · 19/05/2020 08:59

@Jane2711 I am very very sorry to hear that Flowers
You are right, your time will come soon. I live by the notion that everything happens for a reason and I'm sure that some day it will be our time for success.
I am feeling well but my hcg levels are still creeping up.
I am having bloods done on Thursday this week, which I suspect will be followed by a scan early next week.
I'm worried that I may need to have a methotrexate injection but I really don't want it to come to that.
Will keep you updated.

Baba11 · 19/05/2020 09:58

@Jane2711 I am so sorry for your loss hunni. Keep trying, you will be blessed soon.

Jane2711 · 19/05/2020 13:15

@Needadvice1233 @Baba11 thank you. I believe that too, and I read that quite often a lot of first pregnancies end this way but quite a lot they go undetected, and then you are more fertile the second time you go to try so hopefully this is true.

Definitely push for the scan, it will give them an idea of what is going ok. I also read sometimes HCG creeps up but you still go on to have a healthy pregnancy so I’m wishing you success please keep us updated 🙏🏼

@Jane2711 yes I read you are very fertile after a miscarriage, so don't give it up.

Needadvice1233 · 22/05/2020 11:05

Update - I had bloods done yesterday and they came back as 439, (up from 79 two weeks ago), so still not going up quick enough for a viable pregnancy?
Had a scan yesterday too which showed nothing.
I have no idea what is happening, but i'm having more bloods done on Sunday.

Baba11 · 22/05/2020 11:46

@Needadvice1233 that is good that your hcg levels are going up
Maybe you have your dates wrong and it was too early to see anything on a scan

Jane2711 · 10/06/2020 17:07

@Needadvice1233 any update? Flowers

OP posts:
Needadvice1233 · 10/06/2020 17:15

Hi @Jane2711
I thought I had updated this thread? Strange but never mind.
The bloods I had done two days after the 439 result came back at 479. Clearly not good.
I was diagnosed with a PUL (Pregnancy of Unknown Location) and had a methotrexate injection the following day. My hcg levels are now back to 0 and I need to wait three months before trying again, but I'm feeling so much better in myself with high hopes for the future.

Daisyxxchainxx · 10/06/2020 17:15

Same happened to me two years ago. I had a bleed at 5 weeks and 6 days. Paid £180 and I had a sack and a tiny little grain of rice shape. That was the baby.

I had three bleeds in total and my son's 2.5 now! So he was fine x
